My favorite Christian Rock groups were Servant, Resurrection (REZ) Band, Petra, Whiteheart, and Bloodgood. Anybody else remember these groups? Oh my the memories.
Yep. I would like to see Whiteheart.white cross.stryper, petra,Mylon Lefavre and, Daniel Amos Band and all those oldies but goodies of the late 70's to the early 90's christian rock/metal bands in one big concert
They all had different strengths as singers, so i guess whoever sang on the sing you like best :) I started listening to them in about 1985 so i only ever saw Rick/Rik/Riq/Ric (hehe) - and loved him. Still do. Always so much talent in White Heart!!
One of my favorite groups from the 80s! I remember the time I took them thru a Burger King drive thru after a concert in Omaha, Ne and folks were pushing items thru the windows for them to get autographed! Fun memories!!
First time I saw Whiteheart was at Taylor University back in the mid 80,s, I have seen many Christian groups and believe Whiteheart is by far the best of that era. I suppose Petra would be second. Whiteheart is definitely the best of them all. I miss this music. Wish I could still get it at the store as all my cassettes have been lost or worn out. Would love to get Freedom and Powerhouse CD's if they were available.
I'm so glad I saw your comment. I just searched for Elizabeth South's version and found it on Reverb Nation. I agree, she does a really good job with it.
When I first got saved way back in 85. These great prog rock christian bands like whiteheart Petra, and the awakening, filled the musical void in my life when I needed to hear an alternative to the secular prog bands like Rush, Yes, and pink floyd the Christian Rock of today is Christ honoring but (save for a few exceptions) is mediocre by comparison. Nevertheless praise God this generation is hearing the message in the music that Jesus is the way, truth, and life and no one comes to the Father except by him (john:14:6).
I agree, Christian music today as a whole doesn't compare to the music of the 80's. Their voices were better and the message was better. DeGarmo & Key, Whiteheart, Petra, Geoff Moore and the Distance, Phil keagy, 4Him, Rich Mullins, Sandi Patti, Steve and Keith Green. There is much great praise music today, but for some reason many christian singer seem to think being breathy in their singing is a good thing.
Beautiful. This song, and the whole "Read the Book" album reminds me of youth group retreats in the 80s. True artists. CCM today is bland and boring compared to the '80s.
@ehrldawg For me it was Florian, I came later, after Powerhouse and loved Tales of Wonder and Highlands, big fan of Jon Knox. A friend loved Scott, shame what happened. In the last couple years I discovered the earlier albums and really starting to get into them.

I saw Whiteheart in concert three times. Twice at Milligan College and once at Night of Joy in Disney World. They were all great concerts.
Wow. Today's Christian music doesn't touch me like this still does. Thanks.
Awesome...wish White Heart could have a reunion tour....:)

I didn't know that Whiteheart was the group that wrote this song. I used to listen to them all of the time. This song is beautiful!
