I am a wedding planner so regarding quiet music, check with the nearest college and see if they have a pianst or even like a stringed quartet to provide reception music. They also usually will not break the bank and will allow you to spend monies in other areas that might be more of a want like a nicer dress.or better flowers etc. Hope this helps.

We know how to manage anything that can come up (and, oh, it will) at weddings and other events, we have much better repertoire and it is your wedding; you don't want anything going awry.
My husband & I got married 8 years ago. We’re both in wheelchairs. I have a tip for you & Hannah when looking for a venue. For your venue look for a space that is big enough that the tables can be spaced out more than normal so that Shane’s wheelchair can get through.

Don't dismiss this idea right away!! My wife's family has a farm and barn they rent out for weddings. They do several every summer. We were married there 11 years ago. It's right over the Wisconsin border from you guys. It's surprisingly accessible, very affordable. You can use any caterer you like and they have a fire pit perfect for smores making!

I don't love weddings but I'm excited for this one! I totally get Shane when he says he could live there! I love that style of place! The exposed bricks are the cherry on top!
My husband and I also didn’t want to have dancing at our wedding, but my parents were hoping to dance at least a little. Our solution was to have a string quartet play for about 45 minutes at the beginning of the reception while people had their cocktails, and some folks did a little dancing, including my father getting his long-awaited photos of him dancing with me (we faked it because I had no clue). I guess that’s fair because I was the only one of their three kids who got married. Anyway, after the quartet was done, we had a pianist (actually our church organist who also played with a jazz combo) who brought his “fake book” and took requests for popular standards and lots of Broadway show tunes. Large crowds of family and friends gathered around the piano for a singalong, and it was SO much fun! My husband and I met in our church choir and singing was is a big part of our lives. Twenty-five years later, people still say it was one of the best weddings they ever went to. As for the bouncy castle, Hannah, I think you should rent one for Shane’s 30th birthday so his dream can come true. 😊

You wont need to flip a room, they can hold a band in their space, and you could get married outside at the park area or inside their venue. Foe the ceremony afterwards.. while the people are waiting for your appearance, I have seen people put up on a screen ( like a projector) pictures of people's relationship leading up.. and short videos showing their story of how their relationship blossomed. Just history of the entire relathionship. Memories, adventures, etc. I always loved it and it never made me feel like I was "waiting"

However, all these options are not official. Even if they wed in a church, because France is a strongly secular and republican country, the only 'official'/legal way to get married is going to your city/town hall. The mayor of your town performs the ceremony.

YOU GUYS CAN STILL DO IT! Ours was a smaller flip and you couldn’t tell. Here’s how. We had everyone sitting at their tables during ceremony. After we walked out, we stood at the end and everyone got up and made a line to hug us and give us well wishes( then we didn’t have to move in my dress). While EVERYONE was up, they brought drinks to the tables and put the wedding parties table up at front. By the time everyone was sitting down, it was changed. Easy!

That s'mores service thing sounds amazing! I wish we had stuff like that here. My fiance and I are trying to figure out stuff for our wedding but don't really have a clue what to do. Though we know that we want the whole wedding in one place so we don't have to travel, and we want finger foods, like food you would get at a bar, instead of the run of the mill stuffed chicken breast or roast beef that you get at every wedding around here.
When I was planning my wedding The Knot and WeddingWire were both great sites to find vendors. My wedding advice would be to enjoy the planning process and have fun, don’t stress yourself too much and stay present because it will go by fast. Happy for you both ! 🤗

You wont need to flip a room, they can hold a band in their space, and you could get married outside at the park area or inside their venue. Foe the ceremony afterwards.. while the people are waiting for your appearance, I have seen people put up on a screen ( like a projector) pictures of people's relationship leading up.. and short videos showing their story of how their relationship blossomed. Just history of the entire relathionship. Memories, adventures, etc. I always loved it and it never made me feel like I was "waiting"
But, to surprise everyone, they come out in some sort of costume. haha

I was so confused at the idea of a 'flip room' and THEN I realised unlike us frenchies, Americans are not obligated to wed in their town hall, so they can have private ceremonies. 😂
We do have the option of getting married by a justice of the peace when we pick up our marriage licenses but it's not required.
My brother married his wife in France. It was a lovely, intimate ceremony, all in French.
Everyone gets married at the same place? I guess then you are allowed to choose where your reception will be held? It is so interesting to learn the way things are done in other countries.
@@karacarta3545 well people can get married in church, and lately it's more and more frequent that people will have a ceremony in a garden or something, it's strongly inspired by American culture.
However, all these options are not official. Even if they wed in a church, because France is a strongly secular and republican country, the only 'official'/legal way to get married is going to your city/town hall. The mayor of your town performs the ceremony.

YOU GUYS CAN STILL DO IT! Ours was a smaller flip and you couldn’t tell. Here’s how. We had everyone sitting at their tables during ceremony. After we walked out, we stood at the end and everyone got up and made a line to hug us and give us well wishes( then we didn’t have to move in my dress). While EVERYONE was up, they brought drinks to the tables and put the wedding parties table up at front. By the time everyone was sitting down, it was changed. Easy!

That s'mores service thing sounds amazing! I wish we had stuff like that here. My fiance and I are trying to figure out stuff for our wedding but don't really have a clue what to do. Though we know that we want the whole wedding in one place so we don't have to travel, and we want finger foods, like food you would get at a bar, instead of the run of the mill stuffed chicken breast or roast beef that you get at every wedding around here.

My wedding advice would be to enjoy the planning process and have fun, don’t stress yourself too much and stay present because it will go by fast.
