I got one for Christmas this past year, love it! Another awesome use is to pack it in luggage. Takes up the space of a pair of socks and you have a small backpack handy when you leave the hotel or what not.
I use a draw-string backpack when bike touring. I keep out stuffed in a pannier and pull it out to carry groceries into camp out to do a little day hike at destinations. Mine is a cheap flimsy thing someone have me for free (my favorite price). This one looks much better built. I'll check it out. Great review.
Giving that this is a Maxpedition, it has quality written all over it. I have always love the product the come out with. We think will go check out the Rolly-Poly.
I have often made generous (sometimes bordering on ridiculous) use of carabiners and belt loops for that very scenario, when you are taking a day hike from a base camp. That looks perfect. Also would be good to keep one or two in the car for unwanted hikes should you break down and have to hoof it out.
Best gear review channel on YT, man. Looks like an excellent and very useful "break off" pack. Dig the weight. In general I love Maxpedition packs. Tougher than shit.
Wish I had this when I was in Thailand back in 2017-18. This would have been awesome instead of my cheap drawstring bag. Awesome daypack for out in town.
I'm a avid hunter. I have this pack on my belt. When I get game I pull this out and put it in there (Small game) or deer after I field dress it. It's super easy to clean!
Just throwing this out there ... for $30 at REI you can get a 22L "stuff travel daypack". It's a top loading bag with a zippered compartment on the top (draw string and clip closure). It stuffs into the zippered compartment. It's made of ripstop nylon and has decent mesh shoulder straps (instead of 0.75inch nylon webbing). It also has two nylon mesh side pockets. I keep one in the TINY space under the seat of my sport bike. It costs less than the Maxpedition version, it weighs 3oz more, has about 400% more storage, and folds down to a similar size. As far as a daypack for limited use on a longer trip, I think I would suggest something like the Ribz frontpack over something like this. The Ribz has more storage capacity, it's more comfortable loaded down (there are lots of good reasons most backpacks don't just use a little bit of webbing for a shoulder strap), and it has more compartmentalization. The Ribz can also be worn in combination with backpacking bags so it increases your overall carry capacity, which means it doesn't ever have to be dead weight.
This was a great review and a solid example as to how to make a video and present it. People who want the thumbs up when they make their videos should take note on examples like this. Great job.
I'm getting mine so that I have it attached Incase I need to use it to collect things but also figured I could stuff my shirts in it at night and then it's my pillow lol.. getting one for my 11 year old to use while at SeaWorld and things to hold items we buy plus a few essentials
I have been looking at this pack for similar reasons. No other "English" reviews out there haha. Assuming a lighter load out, how confortable are the straps? I love my Sitka, Condor II but for day hikes they are sometimes too much. I recently got the ribz and will be using them soon.
This looks awesome. Would be great for attaching it to my backpack. It could be used to gather wood, tender, somewhere to carry your small game and much more. :o
Are there any cheaper alternatives to this? I will only be using it once or twice a year when I'll set up a main camp and then take short hikes in the area - a bottle of water, a snack, a waterproof jacket - nothing too heavy or bulky.
Great review. A shame that the top of the pack is, even when cinched and velcro flap in place, relatively open to rain. Better would have been a longer velcro flap (thus, the entire thing would be rolled differently when closed, yes) or simply have a rolling top like many load-out backpacks.
How does this compare to the rollypolly extreme? I'm looking at both but the extreme may be overkill (weight and price) for what I'm wanted to do; day hikes, vacation stuff, theme parks.. Any suggestions?

Great looking little pack there Brother. Can't beat the weight either.
Dude, great fast review of a sweet multi--use daypack option. Also, check out the REI flash UL as another option for something a little different.

I keep one in the little trunk on my sport bike. Handy little thing.
That looks like a great bag to keep on hand. I'll have to check this one out. Thanks

Thanks!
this was a well thought out video, nice editing
Great pack, thanks for doing a great, short and well done review.
Love maxpedition. The doppleduffel will probably be my next purchase but this is really nice.
I wish it came in foliage green I just like the looks of it.
Sir your vids are always top shelf. Great work on this vid and I'm in the market for a day pack. Good share.....
Top notch editing
Nice review!
Wish they still made these packs
Nice MaxP makes good stuff.

Im curious, can you wear it backwards to utilize the molle panel? if so, is it less comfortable?
Interesting pack, thanks for bringing it to my attention. :)

Obviously superior to the cheap ones. Not sure if it's worth it, though.
nice pack
Found this bag by accident on the maxpedition site
The top will let in water... And the straps are little too narrow.
thats more of a haversak than a back pack
Did i see @ 2.50 two cool dudes enjoying themselves not play a xbox *****
Noise.
First Comment!!
Just wanted to add that it would be great to put your smelly dirty clothes into, instead of using your main pack.
Very good point.
