Jayce IS NOT sexually or romantically interested in Caitlyn. She's the young daughter of his one time benefactors! The girl was 12 the last time she was seen in the show. The flowers that she threw were GET WELL flowers because she had just been in an explosion the night before. There were tons of other flowers where she threw his, undoubtedly from other well wishers. He even asked her if she was feeling better and if she should be up and she blew that off too. Caitlyn is simply more interested in her police work than her own health or safety. She's eager to prove her own worth and not be coddled by everyone around her, including Jayce. Jayce offered her that job because her parents had her removed from the enforcers. He was trying to do the right thing without patronizing her. The only way that ANYONE would think that Jayce at 24 had fallen for a 12 year old girl and was pursuing her at 31 would have to be watching the show completely without context. And the context is EVERYWHERE. She's like his kid sister and she's tired of not being taken seriously.
I appreciate the scene where Silco is shouting at Jinx over her loud music in particular because it's such a delightfully twisted moment of a teenage daughter being in trouble with her dad, she's blasting her music in her room, and he has to yell at her to shut it off so he can chew her out.
It's also one of the many good moments they use to establish Silco is actually a father figure rather than simply a manipulator - he's visibly furious, he's shouting and ranting, and yet Jinx is utterly unafraid because she knows she's about to make him proud.
They have dysfunctional relationships and clearly villainish, but this scene felt almost like... normal dad/daughter relationships? If we don't mind the fact that he was scolding her for literally killing people
Silco episodes 1- 3: Evil Crime Lord Silco episode 4: Teenager's father who is pissed because his daughter is at her room listening to very loud music.
I _loved_ how they did Jinx’s character in this show, she’s still got that Harley Quinn energy that we expected but way more fleshed out and compelling and (honestly?) pretty realistic all things considered. So well written and the animation really helps you visualize just how fractured her mind is
If you watch the psychology analysis by Georgia Dow and Sarcastic Chorus it becomes evident that whoever wrote her character is either a psychologist or has a deep understanding of how trauma works.
It's Harley Quinn energy at a level that fits in how over the top the characters of that universe are around her. Harley was one batshit lunatic in a universe of relative sanity, if not normalcy, but Jinx is the Batshit loose cannon in a world where everyone is a bit crazy to begin with. She fits.
What's great about her character is that she chooses to keep chasing what she's lost which just drives her further into madness so it's like she is actively choosing insanity
Talking about Jinx's place, I really like the symbolism that she lives in a messy workshop, with her childish graffitti (very much the opposite of Jayce's and Victor's clean workshop). But It's also a narrow platform with no railing hanging over a bottomless pit. The entire place feels like a representation of Jinx's mental state.
I like the little details in the show, like when Jayce was trying the gauntlets, he initially grunts and lets it fall to the ground, but when he inserted the crystal, it became weightless, along with the rock.
And these little details are so important too, the help guide the viewer and answer questions the show knows your going to be curious about in an extremely efficient way. Gotta love when a show rewards you for paying attention
Btw Jayce was 24 when Caitlyn was 14-15. I don't think he sees her in a romantic light , more like a little sister vibe. The flowers were probably a "get well" type of flowers , considering she had tons of them in her room ,because she was injured. Also nothing weird between Silco and Jinx - it has been confirmed by the writers , so don't worry about that.
I feel like most of us are so used to every close male/female relationship being turned into a romance, that they (me included) assumed that would happen here too. Thankfully the writers didn’t go that route and gave us well written platonic and familial dynamics as well lol
"I designed these huge gloves, you know... for mining. You could crush somebodies rib-cage with them if you wanted. They are for mining tho. Definitely for mining." - Jayce probably
Most tools can be used as an effective weapon. Shovels, hammers, pickaxes, axes, crowbars, machetes, screwdrivers, etc. It's not a stretch for him to have legitimately thought of them as tools, being a naïve idealist and all.
I just think it's funny how people say this about Jayce. Literally all he made was an enhanced version of the human hand. Isn't it sad that we see the human hand and think: Weapon.
Silco has the most understated character change after the time skip. Look at the difference between how he treats Sevika and Jinx, to one he acts as the Bond villain punishing a subordinate for something they couldn't control, for the other he speaks softly and relentlessly covers for her mistakes. He has a monkey mug that Jinx painted, and trusts her to inject something directly into his goddamn eye. I'm not sure if I would even trust my doctor with something like that. Before, he didn't bat an eye at slaughtering the Piltover Sheriff on the streets, now, he's genuinely enraged at Jinx for killing 6 Enforcers. He's almost acting like Vander, maintaining a status quo rather than being a ruthless extremist like we saw him in the previous act. It is only the prize Jinx procured that shows he still has his revolutionary ideals.
No, you completely misunderstood him: he's a crimelord that doesn't stop at anything, like transformin a little fragile girl in a massa murderer, terrorist and criminal. He ha nothing to do with Vander.
@@amai8094 doesn’t change the fact that he’s a horrible father. he may care about her but he’s not a good father at all and is responsible for why she’s so messed up. (the other half being jinx herself.)
I don't think Jayce was hitting on Cait. He's like 9 years older, the flowers were white, typical "get well" flowers you get after being a terrorist attack victim, rather than red romantic flowers. Cait's like his little sister imo.
@@Napstablooky he said he was 24 in the cell when speaking to Heimer. He's like on university, while Cait was currently still on highschool, she looks about 15.
Hidden Facts Within The Episode: Vi's Prisoner Number is 516. If used in Roman Numerals you get, V=5, I=1, VI=6 / VI=Vi Silco keeps a Monkey Mug on his desk and his ashtray is decorated with crayons. Both made by Jinx. The music Jinx was blasting was from a music video which starred Jinx called "Get Jinxed!" THAT scene (which is JUST a father/daughter scene I mind you) had Jinx help Silco with his dosage meaning: "A. She had been doing it for a while if both of them are used to it" & "B. Shows that Jinx is the only person that Silco can show his vulnerability to" .
A little addition. Get Jinxed was Riots first full fledged 'music video' and was their first collaboration with Fortiche studios who went on to make Arcane. In short, it was a bit of a nod to that humble beginning.
there is a Psychiatrist that made an analysis of Jinx and Silco relationship, and it is very interesting, where every little details and bodyu language actually have meaning and give many usefull clues.
that scene reminds me of my dad , he used to give me a quarter for every nose hair i trim when i was a kid. and i dunno about westerners and being too sensitive about little skin contact but when i first watched it and jinx put her heard on silco's shoulder that sealed the deal that she is her daughter for me . i didn't saw any sexual thing just jinx being endearing to silco.

24:45 "look closer at her butterfly design there" oh you guys picked it up. On the first watch I didn't even picked it up until later episodes. But remember those butterflies. (edit: And you guys picked up on alot of things that other people would pick up only after second or third watch, is just insane. You guys are good!)
At 29:00, you guys are so freaking perceptive lol the magic does indeed has some sort of “anti-gravity” property to it! What a great discussion, so glad you’re picking up on narrative directions with Jinx and Silco, a lot of us / people had to go all the way to episodes 7 and onward to get some of your insights. It is also making me appreciate Fortiche’s choices more. Y’all get ready for Vi!
True, the scene when they stabilize the energy from the gemstone for the first time and they float in the air comes to mind. I didn't catch that before.
i like the jump cuts they did with jinx's scenes. it's almost like, either her reality and the way she sees the world is also in jump cuts, or she has this short but constant periods where she loses her sense of time, if that makes sense
I know there are people who think there's an inappropriate tension between Silco and Jinx but I don't see it that way. She sits in his lap because emotionally she's still a little girl. Her art looks like it's drawn with crayons because emotionally she's still a little girl inside. Her bombs look like toys because she's a little girl inside. She's still stuck on that day when Vi abandoned her.
Yeah so it’s mainly feels like Milo’s ghost being in her head, kind of like he’s shackled to her and basically egging her on but also giving her doubts about everything
In the 2nd episode we already see they can bring out a few different "magic" from the stone. The mage in the flashback used "teleportation" and later Jayce created the Hexgate. When Viktor n Jayce successfully evoke spell from the stone, it was a "gravity manipulation" spell, probably the fundamental spell for the Atlas gauntlet. And the Hexclaw is just the explosive nature of the stone, now directed into a beam
Jayce and Caitlyn aren't a thing - he's like 10 years older than her (and he was 24 before the timeskip) and neither of them has shown romantic interest in each other. It's more accurate to view their interactions through the lens of a brother/sister sort of relationship. Similarly, Silco and Jinx are a father/daughter relationship, but Jinx is very clingy and physical in her affections (potentially exacerbated both by her not really "growing up" and by the fact she has hallucinations so physical contact reassures her that the person she's interacting with is real) which has led some people to get the wrong idea.
Sometimes it happens, you think characters have brother/sister relationship, but then suddenly Jayce wants Caitlyn to think only about him even after his death, for 10 years at least
"So, Silco, this is going to be an interesting time for you as a villain." HAHAHA understatement of the century! SIlco and JInx both "dancing with death" as you say is an expression I love. He uses the shimmer as a kind of medication for his eye. Yeah, you're right. he has taken over The Las Drop, which was Vander's bar. I wonder how Powder/Jinx felt about that when it happened. Did she get her former dormitory, now hers alone? No wonder she remains at that other place.
For a second there, I got slightly frustrated when you guys thought the pink haired girl, who looked younger than what Vi looked like in the first episode, was her. But glad you guys corrected yourself after; so many reactors still thought it was her even when the episode was done.
I think tbh its a nice trick but might have been executed a tad cleaner, idk how but, the fact that 80 percent of people get fooled into thinking it's Vi until she shows up at the end of the episode is a bit of a problem.
@@gman7497 I think they could've made the character a male, on the more feminine side, but given them like, a single voice line or something. It's not that big a deal in the long run though, it's easy to get caught up in this show.
I think it would have worked better if you'd seen the girl's actual face before 'jinx vision' changed it to Vi - as it was seeing Vi first kinda establishes that character as Vi until proven other.
@@gman7497 The show is bold enough to let the audience figure things out through hints/visual cues instead of blatantly telling them, but unfortunately the practice of being blatant in shows is because the audience is often too dense to pick up on shit, or at least have gotten so used to being spoon-fed information they lost the ability to pick up on it. As evidenced by how often people get confused by the show. Things I've noticed that throw a lot of people are the monkey bomb (it doesn't explode multiple times, it's shown from multiple perspectives), the Firelight being Vi, and Vi turning herself in (it's astounding how many reactors/viewers in general don't realize that's what's happening). Oh, and also how many people don't realize that Vander and co. would have escaped if Powder hadn't interfered (the hole was big enough, Vander was freed, and Deckard wasn't anywhere close to getting that door open). *spoiler for future episode* Also so many of them have no clue what's happening during the scene where Powder uses the flare. From people I've watched with: "what's she doing?" "What's Silco doing?" "Wait, what happened?" "Wait, how did Caitlyn and Vi get there?" etc. Really frustrating.
I can certainly say that the hextech gem does make the gauntlets lighter; cause you can see even in this episode that when they are not powered on, the gauntlets are really heavy but when they turn on, they become significantly lighter. What's interesting is that it seems to extend that lightness to whatever the gloves are holding but I haven't seen enough evidence to confirm it other than Jayce holding a boulder with them. Just make note of the weight they have on their users when they're on vs when they're off and you'll notice this too.
Did anybody notice the rocking Rhino in the wide shot of Jinx's Lair? Its a reference to her Get Jinxed trailer where she rides a Rhino through the streets of Piltover cheered on by monkeys. Maybe something for season 2?
28:55 the hextech magic demonstrated antigravity properties in episode 3 as it made them float in the air. The Gauntlet itself may be heavy as well as the rock, but when hextech is applied to it, it's no longer heavy.
Regarding the big glove. It seems to be implied that the gauntlet becomes lighter when powered, as we see Jayce struggle to lift it before he puts the sphere in. And we have already seen hextech mess with gravity. So I think the gauntlet is actually supporting itself in some way, which is why Jayce is not only able to lift it, but a massive boulder.
There's no weirdness between Silco & Jinx - he just treats her like a daughter, don't worry. But he spoils her rotten, cuz he feels bad about her mental health issues. She's very much still a 10yr old in a lot of ways. But it's endearing how protective Silco is of her - he won't let anyone speak a word against her. Even when he knows that things are her fault. He really cares about her.
Are we watching the same show? Jinx literally had to do Sevika's job. Sevika got incapacitated immediately and was utterly useless. Silco sees through it right away and calls her out. How does that turn into "her fault?"
They didn't discuss the fact that only Jayce gets all the fame and honor, only his face on the posters. Sad sounds. And in general it seems that they are ignoring Viktor.
I think the gauntlets literally affect the weight of both itself and whatever it comes in contact with. Hints that this is the case also occur later in the series.
on the one hand i'm a little surprised since i thought you'd identify Jayce and Caitlyn's relationship as more sibling-like than anything (especially considering there was a clear established age gap) but on the other i cannot WAIT for your reactions for what's coming since this assumption will definitely play into them ;))
@@sardeska_ they really don't look that different in age in the couple of scenes we see them both in. Your knowledge of the gap is influencing how you perceive the art.
Oh boy it never occurred to me that Caitlyn is the Caitlyn in the game (I don’t play much league). I wonder how many champions are in this show that I have no ideas of.
Confirmed: Jinx, Vi, Jayce, Viktor, Caitlyn, Ekko, Heimerdinger, Singed, and Warwick [1] Speculated: Ryze [2], Swain [3], and Orianna [4] [1] will appear in season 2 beyond just his brief appearance in episode 9 [2] the mage that saved young Jayce and Ms. Talis (via realm warp) [3] the man who killed Jay Medarda (Mel’s brother) [4] Singed’s daughter (pictured on his locket in episode 9)
I think you guys are reading way too much into the flowers. Jayce and Caitlyn have known each other for years, they are friends and have more of a sibling connection, he wasn't coming onto her. They were "get well" flowers, she almost got blown up a day or two ago in the Jinx attack. She grabs and drags him inside to show him her investigation, she only starts acting cold once she understands Jayce is there to offer her a job, and that her parents have meddled with her work again, basically had her fired and sent Jayce to give her a new "safer" job. You misread the whole vibe of that scene. The focus was more on Caitlyn's motivations, it wasn't about her and Jayce.
god I’ve watched the scene of jinx after she got the stone so many times its my favorite scene from the show it just shows jinx’s character perfectly and its so goooooooood
I don’t know if this is true but someone said Caitlyn was suppose to be taller than Jayce but they changed it last minute. Probably knew she’d be too powerful if they did lmao
One thing to keep in mind is that Jayce and Caitlyn think of each other almost like really good friends/siblings because hes known her since she was a kid seeing as how in act 1 He was 24 and she was around 16. So her family was his patrons for a number of years before we first see the characters.
One thing to bear in mind is that Jayce and Caitlyn's relationship is more older brother and sister, because as you might recall from the second episode, he is significantly older than her.
It's so interesting seeing everyone's thoughts on what happened to Vi, I feel like I'm way too pessimistic, because I immediately thought Marcus arrested her.
He did. He sent her straight to Stillwater (and probably secured his promotion in the doing), but kept it on the down-low so Silco wouldn't find out he lied about her being dead. Vi's literally been in that prison since she was 14 or so. It's possible he kept her alive due to feelings of guilt from the whole fiasco he caused by informing Silco of the arrest, but obviously not THAT much guilt since he left her in there to rot and receive regular beatings from the guards for 7-10 years (however long it's been).
@@kenjutsukata1o1 part of it was insurance as well; he learned to never trust Silco that night and Vi being “dead” means that worst case scenario he have a wild card.
Maybe bc he's from the uppercity, he sees alive in a prison a better result than death. After all, that's why he had a deal with Silco, to arrest the person responsible for the burglary. In his mind he's just doing what's right as an enforcer: You should pay for your crime, but death is not the right answer to it. In a way he's representing justice.
I just wanna say I look forward to these every week and Its awesome to see you both appreciate all the little details that go over most reactors heads, and this reaction of arcane has been one of my favorites I can't wait for you guys to finish it and I'm expecting a hour long review once you do!
The series is insanely good with thematic through lines. A good highlight of this episode is how much “Progress” has happened to everything. Piltover had its hextech boom, Zaun/undercity progressed faster to its neon tinted decadence and duplicity. And then there are all the character progressions. Jinx becoming the loose canon, Jayce the innovator and blooming politician, Cait the peacekeeper, Silco in his newer role as boss and father, and Vi tempered by her time confined.
Vi’s reveal at the end always gets me pumped up- I don’t think they could have picked a better song, it perfectly portrays both the rage Vi would feel for being stuck in jail and just her general badassery
Shows so much how badass they portrayed her to be in the earlier episodes, that whenever people hear someone punching a wall, they immediately think it's Vi.
Does everyone just forget that she starts out episode 3 trying to turn herself in? She got to where she was trying to get to. Vi has no patience and runs headfirst into every situation trying to punch everything into submission. She would definitely be dead if she wasn't in jail.

The first thing Jayce and Viktor did with hextech was levitation, so it's possible that the gauntlets are at least partially levitating or made lighter when they're powered on.
love the commentary on Caitlyn keeping Jayce at a distance cause I always got the gay vibes from her and then she met vi and basically got it confirmed lol
This was one of my favorite videos of yours in a while. There's just such an infectious energy to it, I couldn't stop smiling. A great reaction to a great episode of a great show.
It's really funny how you haven't predicted a single thing right in this series so far 😄 but I like how you then pick up on and understand all that happens
Every time i finish watching one reaction I realise how desperately i want to see the reaction and discussion for the next one, because the next one is amazing... everytime
Lets also not forget that when they first got control of the crystal it made them float, so it might have a anti gravity property of magic, which means it can make the gauntlet lighter, and possibly lift the boulder easier too
As you didn't seem to catch it; the music that Jinx was listening to after stealing the hex gem is called "Get Jinxed" and it was the music to her original release announcement trailer. I highly recommend you watch it.
"Although it could just be new characters, you know ?" "Nooooo", he said, underestimating the show in the vilest fashion. :D Did you atone for your sin ?
On the web for Arcane event, the Poro (heimmer's pet) it's a profesor or maybe his name is profesor... Jinx was listening her song "Get Jinxed" i suppose it's like a little easter egg for fans, but when You end the serie can watch the song vídeo, but only after end the serie cause it's a little spoiler or could be
Lol if they think this was crazy, Act 3 is quite possibly the most frenetically paced series of television I've ever seen in my life, and I mean this in the best way possible.
From everything we know from the lore, the writers, the actors and visuals its a been a 5 to 10 years time skip. I would say its roughly 7. Powder/Jinx is supposed to be 15 or 16 here which has been pretty solidly confirmed so that really only leaves how old she was at the beginning which isnt really as clear. We also know Jinx is 21 while participating in the League of Legends game and this is obviously before that and more likely than not its quite a while before she joins up. Some say shes 11 in the first 3 episodes but I really dont think she looks 11. Id say shes maybe 8 or 9. Either way 5 to 10 covers literally everyone's guess. Ive never seen anyone even suggest its more or less than that.
The whole weight of the gauntlet thing was kinda set up in episode 3. The very first thing they discovered with the Hexgem was anti gravity, they both ended up floating in the air and didnt even know how to come down again. There is nothing in the show that confirms this is what the gauntlet has but it *IS* established that anti gravity *IS* a feature possible from the gemstone. This is rather perfectly executed cuz it leaves many door open to why this glove is so light. But also resolutely slams any door shut when it comes to any argument about why this would be impossible.
I'd say there is confirmation. *spoilers below* When Sevika disables one of Vi's gauntlets it becomes too heavy for her to lift, forcing her to abandon it. Not to mention it can lift a boulder that Jayce definitely couldn't lift on his own. It's as confirmed to be using anti-gravity as it can be without somebody verbally saying "it uses anti-gravity".
So... there's no spoilers here, but the Hexgems are a helluva thing according to the lore. I don't know if they'll go this way, but the hex gems are the condensed souls of an ancient non-human species. You can even hear them scream when the gem explodes in Ep 3. So they'll last a *really* long time.
I love how even when Silco’s frustrated with jinx, he never lays a hand on her. As the typical “bad guy” you’d think he’d lose his temper a lot more easily, but even when he completely loses her attention, he snatches the pen from her instead of touching her, he doesn’t even grab her arm to get her attention or anything. Silco is a good dad
One thing not alot of people pick up on is that Silco doesnt really have a handle on Jinx. Almost all people Ive seen commenting on their relation is completely stuck on Silco being this evil manipulator which I dont think is true. First of all I dont think hes actually manipulating her. Silco has a genuine and honest ambition to free the undercity of Piltovers oppression, he dont have to manipulate Jinx. Secondly, Silco does berate her and scold her when there is reason for it but when the tables are turned, if he doesnt have a solid leg to stand on in his argument he is very cautious around her. I cant say anything more without bringing in what happens in future episodes so I'll shut up now. But Im glad someone else picked up on this. Silco is one of my favorite characters cuz he is definitely the bad guy in this series but hes not actually evil, something alot of people just glosses over.
The crystals do have finite power. They come from a scorpion like race called the Brackern from the Shurima region. The Brackern can live for millenia. These creature store their memories and knowledge in this crystal which is like a soulstone and it connects them to the rest of their race in a hivemind way. After their death, new generations can pick up the crystal and gain acces to all the knowledge of the previous generations. The Brackern do feel what is happening to their kin in Piltover (though I don't believe the general public knows there are practically draining the life force of an ancient magical race). At some point the crystals do run out of power when all the life force and knowledge of the millenia the Brackern cultivated it runs out. Synthetic hex crystals are being created (though I'm not sure if they are already being created during this series) because the Brackern are extremely hard to find and the resource is deffinitely finite (and potentially to spare the Brackern?). The Ferros family is responsible for discovering and producing the crystals. I think they might make an appearance at some point because one of the champions in the game is from that family. She has a hextech heart though so maybe she is not yet the person she is in the current lore since I don't think hextech is that well understood yet.
Yeah, they've shuffled some of the lore around for the story. Which I totally get, since I'm sure the lore wasn't written with a cohesive narrative in mind. If they want to tell a story where the characters can actually interact a lot of the lore is gonna need to be chucked/modified.
Well well well, the time-skip is here and all the characters are much older and further developed in their own areas after episode 3's events. Jinx isn't fully solidified yet, as Powder is still somewhere in there deep down!

And these little details are so important too, the help guide the viewer and answer questions the show knows your going to be curious about in an extremely efficient way. Gotta love when a show rewards you for paying attention
"I can even lift this rock!" moment
Btw Jayce was 24 when Caitlyn was 14-15. I don't think he sees her in a romantic light , more like a little sister vibe. The flowers were probably a "get well" type of flowers , considering she had tons of them in her room ,because she was injured.
Also nothing weird between Silco and Jinx - it has been confirmed by the writers , so don't worry about that.
Wait what?? They didn't look that different age wise. Damn
Yea there's no romantic undertones or any tension like that between Cait and Jayce. Its 100% a sibling-like relationship
I feel like most of us are so used to every close male/female relationship being turned into a romance, that they (me included) assumed that would happen here too. Thankfully the writers didn’t go that route and gave us well written platonic and familial dynamics as well lol
@@luiscaballero8484 Well, after timeskip they both grown adults (Jayce is 30-31, Cait is 20-22), so age difference isn't that noticable.
@@luiscaballero8484 that's in act 1, Cait was definitely just a teenager there.

Most tools can be used as an effective weapon. Shovels, hammers, pickaxes, axes, crowbars, machetes, screwdrivers, etc. It's not a stretch for him to have legitimately thought of them as tools, being a naïve idealist and all.
"This is a hammer... IT'S ALSO A GUN!"
I just think it's funny how people say this about Jayce. Literally all he made was an enhanced version of the human hand. Isn't it sad that we see the human hand and think: Weapon.
@@nonuvurbeeznus795 we watch characters knock people out with punches. Episode 3 we see vi use Vader's gauntlets enhancing her punches.
I'm guessing he's having to be the new Vander, even if it's only because events of episode 3 set back his plans.
No, you completely misunderstood him: he's a crimelord that doesn't stop at anything, like transformin a little fragile girl in a massa murderer, terrorist and criminal. He ha nothing to do with Vander.

Hidden Facts Within The Episode:
Vi's Prisoner Number is 516. If used in Roman Numerals you get,
V=5, I=1, VI=6 / VI=Vi
Silco keeps a Monkey Mug on his desk and his ashtray is decorated with crayons. Both made by Jinx.
The music Jinx was blasting was from a music video which starred Jinx called "Get Jinxed!"
THAT scene (which is JUST a father/daughter scene I mind you) had Jinx help Silco with his dosage meaning:
"A. She had been doing it for a while if both of them are used to it"
&
516 in roman numerals would be DXVI

Jinx's callback to her theme song released like 7 years ago (Get Jinxed) had me giggling like an idiot
The best part is that Get Jinxed was the first project between Riot and studio Fortiche and now look how far they’ve gone.
I love how episode 1 starts with Powder stealing a magic gemstone from Jayce, and episode 4 ends the same way.
Imagine if we could make gravity equal to zero... Faster than light travel would be possible within the next hundred years...
Sometimes it happens, you think characters have brother/sister relationship, but then suddenly Jayce wants Caitlyn to think only about him even after his death, for 10 years at least

oh, unless you're talking about "weak" as in "squishy", then i agree with you..
@@gman7497 They just get blinded by the initial shock. There's so many shots of the Firelight girl's brown eyes and different hair
*spoiler for future episode*
Also so many of them have no clue what's happening during the scene where Powder uses the flare. From people I've watched with: "what's she doing?" "What's Silco doing?" "Wait, what happened?" "Wait, how did Caitlyn and Vi get there?" etc. Really frustrating.
The Vi reveal at the end is so hype, love it every time
I can certainly say that the hextech gem does make the gauntlets lighter; cause you can see even in this episode that when they are not powered on, the gauntlets are really heavy but when they turn on, they become significantly lighter.
@@darksaint0124they means when jinx lost control and shot silco’s people too

Wait wait...something just occured to me. Jinx's little gun is called Pow-Pow...as in...as in Powder. Oh God T.T
They didn't discuss the fact that only Jayce gets all the fame and honor, only his face on the posters. Sad sounds. And in general it seems that they are ignoring Viktor.
True, but then again, Viktor doesn't want to be in the limelight, seeing him refusing Jayce's offer to stand in the stage with him.
Jayce wanted Viktor to go with him, but he refused
I think the gauntlets literally affect the weight of both itself and whatever it comes in contact with. Hints that this is the case also occur later in the series.
fun fact the song Jinx is listening to is called get jinxed, it's her theme from the game.

The focus was more on Caitlyn's motivations, it wasn't about her and Jayce.
god I’ve watched the scene of jinx after she got the stone so many times its my favorite scene from the show
it just shows jinx’s character perfectly and its so goooooooood
I don’t know if this is true but someone said Caitlyn was suppose to be taller than Jayce but they changed it last minute. Probably knew she’d be too powerful if they did lmao

One thing to keep in mind is that Jayce and Caitlyn think of each other almost like really good friends/siblings because hes known her since she was a kid seeing as how in act 1 He was 24 and she was around 16. So her family was his patrons for a number of years before we first see the characters.
Amazing reaction
One thing to bear in mind is that Jayce and Caitlyn's relationship is more older brother and sister, because as you might recall from the second episode, he is significantly older than her.
It's so interesting seeing everyone's thoughts on what happened to Vi, I feel like I'm way too pessimistic, because I immediately thought Marcus arrested her.
He did. He sent her straight to Stillwater (and probably secured his promotion in the doing), but kept it on the down-low so Silco wouldn't find out he lied about her being dead. Vi's literally been in that prison since she was 14 or so.
It's possible he kept her alive due to feelings of guilt from the whole fiasco he caused by informing Silco of the arrest, but obviously not THAT much guilt since he left her in there to rot and receive regular beatings from the guards for 7-10 years (however long it's been).
he did, to protect her
@@kenjutsukata1o1 part of it was insurance as well; he learned to never trust Silco that night and Vi being “dead” means that worst case scenario he have a wild card.

Love Caitlyn, other than that, Jinx introduction is freaking great, showing how unstable she’s gotten.
The series is insanely good with thematic through lines. A good highlight of this episode is how much “Progress” has happened to everything. Piltover had its hextech boom, Zaun/undercity progressed faster to its neon tinted decadence and duplicity. And then there are all the character progressions. Jinx becoming the loose canon, Jayce the innovator and blooming politician, Cait the peacekeeper, Silco in his newer role as boss and father, and Vi tempered by her time confined.
lol Caitlyn's name in the game is just Caitlyn
Vi’s reveal at the end always gets me pumped up- I don’t think they could have picked a better song, it perfectly portrays both the rage Vi would feel for being stuck in jail and just her general badassery
Shows so much how badass they portrayed her to be in the earlier episodes, that whenever people hear someone punching a wall, they immediately think it's Vi.
I get borderline Doomslayer vibes from that soundtrack.
Does everyone just forget that she starts out episode 3 trying to turn herself in? She got to where she was trying to get to. Vi has no patience and runs headfirst into every situation trying to punch everything into submission. She would definitely be dead if she wasn't in jail.

The Atlas gauntlets weigh about 8 tons. :)
The drunk guy here is the same guy as the one who got dragged into the brothel episode 1. I think he's supposed to be based off the studio's founder.
Lets also not forget that when they first got control of the crystal it made them float, so it might have a anti gravity property of magic, which means it can make the gauntlet lighter, and possibly lift the boulder easier too

"You don't mean that literally though?"
"No no no"
Heh.
"That got so crazy so fast!" Which one, the situation, or Powder? Lol
In the next episode Vi mentions “her sister could do this since she was 7”
The laser shot at the Poro because Jayce was tossing his gemstone in the air. Viktor didn't do that, the arm was responding to Jayce.
*spoilers below*
When Sevika disables one of Vi's gauntlets it becomes too heavy for her to lift, forcing her to abandon it.
I wonder how they’ll develop it cause they scrapped Camille’s family totally.
What do you mean when you say he is not evil?
I know it is a meme saying this , but the only complaint I have with this show is that it finished to quickly
Weekdays are excruciatingly long to wait isn't it XD
Jayce was robbed yet again by the same culprit
9:10 Jayce, Caitlyn, Jinx, Vi, Heimerdinger are all in the game and with the same name.
29:33 about that
*looks at the hexcore*
Oh guys you two looks so handsome here, great reaction, great show
Hope you guys undersrands that in this show no one is really bad or evil but every character has good reasons that explains their actions.
