If you only take on what you can manage safely and humanely for all concerned, you are doing the best you can do. Mostly it's about doing your best. No one answer for everyone and no one way to do it "right".
Absolutely! I love the idea that everyone just does the best that they can in their given situation, and that means something different to each person and their family.
You are farmers. Good teachers are heroes. I was so blessed to be able to be with our children until they all went to college. You will never, ever regret it. Never. Farmers have to eat their animals. That is how the world works.
So beautifully said! 💕 Thank you for sharing your thoughts on such a difficult subject 😊 I love finding such caring and like-minded people here on TH-cam. Keep up the great work!
Spot on, Bekah. Very well presented. If I didn’t happen to already agree with you on this subject before I certainly would now after the kind and thoughtful way your view point was expressed. Excellently articulated😊 💜🐐🐂🐖🐄🐓🐇🩷
I love this ♡ We butcher at home and this is our exact mindset. However, we chose to take our 2 steer to butcher and the most amazing part of that was when the butcher saw me come back he remembered their names and told me he could tell how much they were loved because they were some of the easiest animals that he ever had to handle and that they were calm and at peace until the very end. Their fear being in a new place was my biggest fear, so that was such a relief to me. I miss the boys, but they have already provided a couple dozen meals for our family, and I am so grateful for the time we had them and that we have a name and face to remember with each meal.
What a beautiful story! I really do think that we honor our animals the most by loving and caring for them well, even those destined for the butcher. Sounds like you did an amazing job with those 2 steer!
It is so nice to find other homesteads that feel the same about honoring them with a name and kindness during their life. I will never understand not wanting to give them an ideal life and ideal death.
This is exactly what I want to do! I am not a healthy person and feel that if I can get healthier options of raising my own food and growing my own food then I could help my family and my health! Thank you for this video!! ❤
Wow, such eye-opening honesty. Are you sure you’re not a teacher? I sincerely hope that you continue to inform subscribers about the humane practices of small family farm living. I, myself, am too old to start farming but if I was 50 years younger and knowing what I know now that there is a more humane way to put meat on my family’s plate, I would love to have someone like you as a mentor. You would be perfect as a teacher for those that were willing to volunteer as an apprentice on your farm for a week or two to learn the ways of humane farming. What a fantastic Humanitarian Project that would be!!
Thank you so much for these kind words!!! I started this channel with the hope of educating others, so it is high praise to hear this. Thank you so much!!
Goat meat stew and adobo are my favorites. Good thing in the Philippines, industrial farming is not so popular for goats and even pigs in some province. You can actually buy goat meat from local growers who have make shift stall on the side of roads❤
Yum! I'm going to have to add those to my menu list! We love adobo made with chicken (after a Filipino friend made it for us once - so good! 😋), but now I NEED to try it with goat meat!
Though I agree with most of what you said in the beginning, The statement that the Animal sacrified itself is more like you sacrified the Animal for yourself. Be honest that animal didn't want to die to feed you.
Absolutely true. Our family views livestock animals as food for the table - whether in one fashion (like milk or eggs) or another (meat). We do not have "pets" or "lawn mowers" on our farm because we simply cannot afford to feed unproductive animals. Our confidence in this lifestyle comes from knowing that the animals we raise are treated FAR better than anything raised for the grocery store. Certainly, no animal WANTS to be killed, but we are proud that our animals have the best lives possible - we serve them day-in and day-out, so that they can one day serve our family. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!!
So true! It's definitely a challenge in a world where processed items are so abundant and convenient. But we can tell our bodies appreciate the better food when we feed ourselves well!

Yep! Good days and bad - we love all the time we get with these kids. ❤️️

This way of living is truth. abundance in sacrifice

How the heck can chickens eat if you cut their beaks off???
RIGHT?!? They have to feed them mash because they can't really eat. It just makes me sick that people do things like this to animals.
You don’t want your children to eat food that are abnormally full of hormones and preservatives. Grass-fed is the best!

I really really wish you had done this video somewhere where there weren't f ing screaming goats in the background!! Simply unbearable
Haha, that's just how goats are!
@@NewDayFamilyFarm I didn't even hear the goats. I was so interested in what you were saying lol
