Aloha everyone as you all know these spots are incredible to come and see for yourselves. But please remember to respect the culture, the land, and us native Hawaiians that live here. This is our home that we cherish very much. Mahalo
id say aloha to everyone and they mommas. aloha

@@RyanShirley thank you for making the beautiful video. i’m adding all the spots to my list for when i go in august!
Maui is my absolute favorite place in the world... for some reason it feels like home to me. There is something so comforting in the air its almost impossible to describe....
You couldn't have said it better! Maui is such a special island.
Gonna try and move here in my 30s, took a trip here a few months back and it clicked
@@RichieDevine8 I hope you’re saving up a pile of cash. Huge lack of rental properties cause rent to skyrocket! Save save save and have 2 jobs lined up, unless you WFH in tech/software field. You need an income of almost $100,000 now…
Nice synopsis!
PRO TIPS:
* 1-2 hours *before* you drive the road to Hana, take Bonine (not Dramamine) if you have ever had even a *twinge* of motion sickness.
-note: if you're a scuba diver, you already know that Bonine is non-drowsy while Dramamine will make you sleepy
*7 Sacred Pools are worth the trip for those who are physically fit.
*the hike to Waimoku falls is all uphill (be physically fit and wear the Tevas or hiking shoes, not flip flops)
*Bamboo forest is unique if you've never been in one, especially if the wind is blowing gently (the sound is lovely).
*
*bundle up warmly and take a thermos of hot coffee/tea/cocoa up to Haleakala for sunrise, which is the most spectacular time to visit
*Wailea is lovely for people who are more interested in romance, maybe not interested in adventure hikes, or have physical disabilities.
*Lahaina is a place to avoid, unless you prefer an extremely touristy, cheesy, very cruise-ship type of experience (but ok for young kids)
*there are many other little towns that are worth a visit. Frommer's guide books are your friend (all the Maui guides are excellent)
* Black Rock is good for snorkeling in calmer waters
*if you're a windsurfer, you already know Maui is a hotspot for this sport
*Kahekili highway is a gorgeous drive, somewhat similar to Australia's Great Ocean Drive from Warnambol back to Melbourne
You can't do it all in one trip 2-week trip to Maui, but you can break it up over several trips and make sure to hit different times of year.
P.S. Don't forget whale watching (especially if you scuba dive, as you can hear the song of the Humpbacks LIVE in the water)
Great tips!
Kahekili Highway is the most dangerous drive for any tourist to drive, is 21 miles of sheer 1 lane terror, locals DO NOT WANT YOU ON IT, no way to turn back once you realize what an idiot you are to even attempt it! Yes it’s gorgeous but not safe unless you are a local. Maui is not Disneyworld. Also, Lahaina is a quaint town where you can grab some happy hour snacks & a drink at Fleetwoods on front street or Kimos & watch the sunset, or visit cool art galleries, or have a nice breakfast at Betty’s. Baby beach is for families with young toddlers. To each their own.
P.S. You can hear the whales while snorkeling as well.
P.S. You actually must be fit to enjoy all of Maui, even Wailea. Parking is limited on the island, 6000-9000 tourists coming each DAY, so walking everywhere is required. Resorts in Wailea aren’t really directly on the beach & walking is required (I went w a bum hip a few times, long way to get to the beach unless you are in beach front but still gotta walk throughout resorts to get there) but there is a long walkway all along that area, lots of rocky beaches. I joined a gym yesterday so I’m not a lard ass for my upcoming trip in September!
You can take a ferry to Lanai from Lahaina. The mission houses are interesting. There are worthwhile things to see in tourist areas as well.
We also wanted to see the Keopuka rock (Jurassic rock)
Thank you for pointing out safety tips as checking water depth before cliff jumping and safety around the blow hole. These are important details many bloggers tend to leave out.
Of course! Hawaii can be dangerous
I love the Haleakela sun rise. Dress warmly though.
It gets cold up there 🥶 🌅
Best video that I watched about Maui for nature enthusiast
This is the perfect video for Maui. We have been 3 times before and will be there again in 26 days. You did a great job filming and your voice and cadence work well with the imagery. I can’t wait to take my youngest daughter who has never been, thank you!
You’re going to have a amazing time! Jealous your going
I can just sit and listen to your voice all day. Thanks
Thanks friend! Some of people get annoyed by it 😅
Great video. Praying for everyone on the island. We still plan on visiting early next year. Great recommendations, Ryan.
The best advice I was given about seeing the sunrise at Haleakala is to do it your first morning in Hawaii. We had to leave the hotel at 4 a.m. local the last time we visited, which wasn't so bad considering it was 7 a.m. back home and we hadn't really adjusted our internal body clocks to Hawaii yet.
Great tip! It’s so easy to wake up early on the first days of the trip 😅
Where can you make reservations for Haleakala?
Reservations are on line and fill up fast, so fast we missed the reservation by a matter of seconds. I suggest you do a sunrise tour, let them figure out the reservations and they pick you up at the hotel or do the bike ride down after the sunrise, we did that back in 1994, it was awesome but do dress warm, it’s cold 🥶 up there.
Just got back from Maui a few days ago. La Perouse Bay is seriously one of my favorites- Beautiful, wild and rugged! Minimal people as well!
We just got back today from Maui and it was awesome- thanks Ryan for these tips. One thing beyond Pipiwai maybe a mile further down is a beautiful church with Charles Lindbergh’s grave. For all you aviation fanatics- its a beautiful setting
So cool you were there! I gotta go back to check out that church :)
It´s always amazing to see that my music found some use 😎 Keep up the greate vlogs!
Aye, I’m so glad you found the channel! I jam out to your songs everyday! Nothing like some tropical sax music! 🎷🏝
How I miss Maui. Went there in 2006, it was so breathtaking and relaxing at the same time. The most I enjoyed the 7 pools. Haleakala for sunrise was beautiful too. Hawaii overall is a true paradise!
Nice job of highlighting these spots. Been going to Maui for decades, been to most of these spots. Good work.
Thanks Bob! Got a favorite place on MAui?
totally gorgeous footage!
❤Beautiful Island, wonderful video! Thank you so very much!
Thanks Elisha! 🏝️
I've just added this to my bucket list
You’re gonna have a great time!
I literally just got back from Hawaii and Maui was one of the stops. My wife did a great job planning it as almost all of the places you visited we went too as well. Great video. I miss Hawaii already.
That’s awesome you were just there! Where was your favorite spot?
It's a place you never forget. I went in 2001 and I still think about it.
You need to go back Craig and see all of the islands. Kauai is something to be seen. Life is short friend, don’t live it with unanswered desires. Peace.
Honestly a cool video for a tourist! Good Job.
Thanks man! Are you from Maui?
I FELL IN LOVE XOXO WITH MAUI on my first visit 30 years ago. I go back to her when I can. It's a privilege to be on that Island . Dude, go to a tanning place for a month before you go to Hawaii, you will enjoy the SUN more. 🤙🏄
That's awesome you've been to Maui! I wonder how its changed in the last 30 years! And yes, i need to work on my tan lol I get burnt too easily.
@@RyanShirley I was there before the PANDEMIC, VERY crowded and prices thru the roof. Hawaii has become a place for the RICH. Now would be a good time to go to see what it was like 30 years ago. Too many Hotels and Resorts left half the Island without jobs.
This video is really well-made. Thank you.
Thanks so much Johanna! I gotta make a part 2
Thank you for this, amazing video
Loved O’ahu and Maui equally, will be back for sure 🤙🏾
When we went to Maui we also went to Haleakala for the sunset, but we stayed for stargazing, and there were thousands of stars and you could also see the Milky Way
Wow I wish I would’ve stayed to see the night sky! I’m sure it was magical 🌌
It was
I still remember your Hawaii 4K. It's one of the best video 🔆🔆🔆
Thanks brother! Maui 4k video releasing tomorrow :)
We go every year and getting ready to go in 2 weeks. Can't wait
You're gonna have a great time!
Wall of tears at the end of the secret trail at the Iao Valley State Park. Absolutely beautiful. Red sand beach is really cool too! It’s close to Hana the town
Wow, I gotta go back and check that out!
First responders are tired of rescuing dumb injured tourists who fall off the very tiny trail to red sand beach. It’s also tresspassing to get there.
I was in Maui last week. Went on a snorkeling trip but we didn't make it to our second stop Molokini (Pretty much the thing I was looking forward to the most) but the tour boat secondary motor blew out and the coast guard wouldn't let us go to the crater. Got to see tons of Whales on the way back tho. A memorable trip I'll never forget. Great video, bud. Mahalo.
Gotta love Maui 😍🏝🐠
Hard to beat 🏝😎
Maui no ka oi 🤙🌈✨
Yeet
stunning shots, excellent video
Thanks so much! Hope you can visit Maui soon
Nice work quick and simple. Will definitely be going to these spots. I like the maps in between spots as reference points.
Thanks Ben! You're gonna have a fun trip!
Lavender Farm is amazing as well.
All my favorite spots too! I’ll add snorkeling at Honolua Bay to the list 😊
Such a great spot to snorkel 🐠
My favorite island is the Big Island. Such a variety of landscapes
I need to visit it! Any places you recommend?
@@RyanShirley yes, I do. 1. Volcano National Park. If you are there when it is dark, you can see the red glow from the lava lake inside the crater. 2. Akaka and Rainbow falls which are beautiful. 3. Botanical gardens on the Hilo side and rainforests. My husband proposed to me at the ones in Hilo. 4. Saddle Road where you travel between the 2 shield volcanos and there is a road to the observatory. There is sometimes snow on the top in winter. Excellent night sky gazing there but it is bitter cold as you are up over 10,000 ft. 5. Waipo Valley where farmers still grow taro as in Old Hawaii and you can see the row of cliffs along the ocean. 6. Chain of craters road in Volcano National Park where you drive by all the dormant volcano craters of Madam Pele. Make sure to go to the end to see the sea arch and recent lava flows. 7. Ancient Hawaiian sites on the Kona side like City of Refuge and the one in Kailua Kona. 8. Whale watching and you can swim with the rays at the Kona Sheraton at night. 9. Black sand beaches at Punaluu where you can see the sea turtles nesting on the shore. But keep your distance. There is also a black sand beach past Kalapana. 10. Hapuna beach is a nice white sand beach. 11. Coffee farms, macadamia nut farms, and you can also see seahorses. 12. Horseback riding at Parker Ranch which used to be the 2nd largest cattle farm in the USA. 12. Deep sea fishing if you like it. So there are many diverse things to do as well as caves and hiking. My family has lived there almost 50 years.
There is also a green sand beach at South Point.
It is a gorgeous place.
Great tour pics! I shared this with my 9th grade students.
I’m so stoked you shared it with your students!
Waianapanapa State Park : you have to reserve in advance so you can have access to the park. No late admission or without reservation allowed. She same for Haleakala state park to go on top of the mountain.
Note that if you have paid the entrance for Haleakala stat park, this is valid for 3 days so if you go on the road to Hana and want to visit the Pipiwai falls, your already paid entrance is good.
When i went to live at my friends in Maui for a summer, it was a crazy phenomenal experience. You truly will never experience what Maui has unless you live with the locals.
That's so sweet you lived there! What part of the island were you on?
Samuel you are SO RIGHT! 😍🌊 My friend house sat a month at a time for our other local friend in Hana, who took long trips to India, so that’s when I would visit! Having a friend as a personal local tour guide taking you to new spots all over the island each day is amazing! It’s such an immersive experience that most tourists never experience & I’m so grateful for my many dreamy days where I got to know Maui much better. 🙏🌊
I had lunch at the little waterfall in the bamboo forest. Thanks much for the memory!
No way! That's awesome, such a cool forest!
my favorite place is Olowalu. Thanks for sharing north shore. Going to check that out on my next trip!
Hawaii is amazing place in the world! Perfect filmed!
I couldn't agree more! Heaven on earth!
Love the video, very cool
Maui is amazing!! Such a good video!🤩
Hawaii is always a amazing time with you ♥️🏝
Love your Channel Ryan. Greetings from Switzerland.
Thanks brother! I miss your country!
@@RyanShirley Great to hear it bro 👌🏻
Great day to make some Videos 💪
Once you go, life sucks knowing that you don’t live there.
It’s paradise, I’ve never felt more gravitation towards anything but a woman.
This place is heaven, go, and don’t come back. Wish I could.
Damn! I miss it, it’s only been a few days since my visit.
Blechh on reality!
Ahihi Kinau is a short drive past Wailia. It has great snorkeling. Then just a little further you arrive at a massive lava field…where we took a kayak tour to snorkel with dolphins
U just showed how God creation is so awesome. Thank you
Very cool, planning first time trip in july, thanks for this info.
Great job....awesome video...!
Thanks mate!
Saw molokinii when swimming in makena beach!!!
That venus bathtub looked great!! 😆
Road to Hana. WOW, thanks great information, on Maui.
Such a fun place to visit!
Dude! Your videos are excellent. Thanks for the recommendations and keep the videos coming!
Thanks Max! And place you want me to make a video of?
@@RyanShirley hmmmm, maybe South America, the Caribbean islands, or one of the major national parks like Yellowstone or Zion
Now I miss the island even more. But great video! Thumbs up and greetings from Germany
Hope you can go back soon! Such a magical place
@@RyanShirley Thanks :) And yes!
i went to Maui 47 years ago....it was much less populated, i loved the road to hana, we drove it in a Ford Pinto
Wow, I'd love to see what I looked like then!
The parks adventurer is going this weekend! :)
You're going to have a great time!
This was such a helpful guide! I'll definitely check out some of these places!
Of course friend! Glad it helps :)
Thanks Ryan! This video is great. Aloha 🤙
Of course Kevin! Hope it helps 🏄♂️
@@RyanShirley Where do you guys like to stay while in Maui?
Haleakala.... aahhhh kala.
One of the best places to live❤️
I agree!
Wow, amazing.
Lovely drone shots.
Thanks so much Radi!
Dude your videos are awesome!!! they go straight to the point
Thanks Juan! Hope it helps your trip to Maui :)
Man, that clean emerald seawater just like a dream.
It's so clear there!
Great video Ryan! Keep hustling brother!
Thanks brother!
While debatably the most scenic part of Maui, you'll find accommodations few and far between here, mostly with options limited to small B&B's and Inns along the highway. There are several good shops available along the coast here, especially in Paia.
As a local Maui resident, I visited all 10, love all of them except little beach. You'll find yourself with many naked people, sometimes doing provocative thing.
Dude thanks so much fir making this video. So informative!
Thanks Raheem! Have you been to Maui?
@@RyanShirley - No I havent. I am setting off on a nomad year in my life. Hawaii is one of the palces I am planning to visit. I want to live there for 2-3 months and work remotely (east coast time). Your video gave me so many ideas of what to do with my time there!
Let’s goo
Full sends!
Wonderfoul places😍😍😍
Thanks friend 🏝😎
Maui is a vibe 😎🐋
It sure is 🏝
Thank you for sharing. Your video is beautiful-amazing footage.
Thanks so much Leticia! Its hard to beat the beauty of Maui!
I always appreciate your travel guides, bro! 🙌🏽 This was great!
Thanks man! Hope you can visit soon!
Good luck getting a ticket to view the sunrise on Haleakala. They are VERY difficult to get.
Sunset though, is just as spectacular, and no ticket needed. Yet.
This is true! Super difficult to get their for sunrise!
Have done most of these and definitely agree! Although after having done Road to Hana three times.. I think I’d be okay never doing it again 😅
Haha I feel that! I almost didn’t do it last time, it’s such a long ride 😅
like your vibe. I've been to Maui 6 times....done everything but the volcano. My kids are 12 and 14 now. it is time. Plus i drove the road to Hanna many times but never made it there. Too much to do with the site seeing and hikes; always had to turn around. gets dark at 7 pm there. Going back at end of March...if Covid doesn't stop us. I say just get vaxed and live life...travel.
Using up some saved mileage points and heading to Maui. I am excited. Thanks for the video. Side note...you have a great voice and annunciation!
Thanks so much Allan for your kind words! You're going to have a great time!
Cant wait I’m going tomorrow
You’re gonna have a great time! :)

Aloha from Maui Ryan ---- got a prompt on your Maui video - watched it - and learned so much! Especially moved by Venus Point. mahalo!
I’m jealous you live there! Excited for you to visit Venus Ponds, it was such a cool place!
@@RyanShirley I wish you hadn't included it, it's basically impossible for locals to enjoy that place now because so many people visit. As a local myself it's quite frustrating
I just get back from Oahu 5 days ago now you're making me want to go to Maui 😂
Haha I feel that! You made me want to go to Oahu with all the sick shots you got!
Thank you for this video !
Of course! Thanks for watching :)
Excellent work again Ryan, seems like you had a great time there!
