Protip: when you get your Royal Guard's Claymore maxxed out and doing double damage, stop using it for normal attacks. Save it for when you mount a Lynel, because attacking a Lynel while on its back does no durability damage to the weapon. You can ride that double damage as long as you want.
This feature is amazing because it shows just how dedicated to the details the staff is. People talked about the rusty sword octoroks before but they weren’t as useful as they are now!
Also...make sure to turn off the sages or else they might end up killing the octorok before you get an upgrade..even if you reload the last save point the octorok disappears and won't reappear again until the blood moon.
@@deanokeller6886 It's very strange, I found one in a location and then looked for it again and it disappeared. It's not there anymore even after the blood moon. I tried that on those by Goron city and they work. Glitch? I have no idea. The location where I found it is just east of the Timawak shrine in a flat area with some fire fruit and some boxes.
@@BeastOrGod Only the base weapon gets the use effect (faster charge for Soldier weapons, Desperate Strength for Knight weapons, projectiles from Eightfold LongSword, massive damage boost when the weapon is close to breaking for Royal Guard, damage boost when wet from Zora weapons, boomerang effect for boomerangs, etc.) The secondary weapon can, however, change the weapon's type. Adding a hammer/mace type weapon to a spear, for example, turns it into a sledge and allows it to be used for breaking rocks
yeah i was thinking the same thing! I mean it only works on the master sword because it's "gloom proof" the nicest thing about it is that it just turns into a LONG 1-handed-sword. You got the range of a spear but can swing it as fast as you want

RNG being nice to me, thats surprising. Though, I learned something with the Shield. Don't fuse it if you got what you want. It goes back to no upgrade if you do. I just now found that out.

Tip concerning octorock: you don’t have to kill them, after every bloodmoon it’s good to go again. Unless you are in the area, then they will have to be killed. Tried both ways and it worked like a charm, when I stood next to one I had just used he didn’t fix my weapon. But when I leave the area as the bloodmoon rise they will fix my weapons when I return. 👍🏻 Excellent video!
I put a fast travel icon right where the claymore spawns, for easy blood moon teleport. there's also tons of other royal guard stuff in there if you just need or want some strong base weaponry!
You saved me a lot of time. I didn’t know you needed a second Octorok. I spent around 15 minutes trying to get the upgrade I wanted thinking to myself: “Damn, it must be pretty rare”. Thanks again!
Rather than the Royal Guard's Claymore, grab yourself a Gerudo Claymore (or other Gerudo weapon) with Durability +3 and a Silver Lynel Horn. That's 120 power, and takes a long time to break (and is repairable, staying at 120). I'm surprised everyone online is freaking out at the 190 that you pretty much never get to use.
That's my approach as well. Lower damage, but you can actually use it anywhere. My advice though - get scimtar of the seven. Same x2 fuse bonus, higher base damage, and higher base durability (with Durability +3 it gets even better), plus it's one-handed so you can use shields. I've yet to try Scimtar of the Seven + Molduga Jaw + bone proficiency though. That with level 3 Atk Up should be inetresting.
The most powerfull weapon is miphas spear + silver lynel blade. You get around 157 dmg when wet...157 DMG SPEAR!!! AND you can use it any time, not just when mounting a lynel. Its very durable too!
Eh, one is strong against Lyonels, the other is strong when you're wet. I wouldn't call a wet weapon something you can use anytime. No more than you can use the anti-Lyonel weapon anytime, just only that one time.
If a weapon is just about to break (1 durability), the weapon gets additional damage boost multiplied by 2. So, if you lower the durability of a royal guard claymore down to 1, fused with silver lynel's horn, the damage is (32 + 55 + 10) * 2(royal guard weapons bonus) * 2(durability 1) = 388 per hit. (With attack up +10) Combined with any attack up buff Lv3 which amplifies the damage 1.5 times, the damage is (32 + 55 + 10) * 2 * 2 * 1.5 = 582.

If you take the royal guard claymore and fuse a molduga jawbone to it, you can get a higher attack with modifiers even though the base damage wont be as high, jawbone is only plus 32 while a silver Lynel horn is 55. But with bone proficiency armor, you get a 1.8 times attack boost which stacks with a food attack boost of 1.5.
if you are low lvl, if you can get your hands on a Gerudo Scimitar (I get them from my amibo cards deck scans) they will DOUBLE the attack power of anything they are fused to. Until I'm collecting the lynel horns I'm using Fierce Deity Sword usually its only 38 attack, but fused to scimitar its now 76 attack power. Its a VERY NICE 1 handed fused weapon does 93, and ive got the double durability buff on it, so its very nice for being such low lvl still.

With +10 on the pristined royal guards claymore + silver lynel weapon and low durability you get a woppin 208 damage And for bows a x5 lynel bow with electric keese eyes is insanely op. 32 bow dmg plus 6 per eye is (from what i assume is) 190 dmg per shot. Note im not 100% what the math is so if im wrong on this please correct me in a KINDLY manner. Thank you.
Last I heard, Amiibo weapons (Including the Dusk Bow found on top of Hyrule Castle) cannot be repaired/upgraded. Is this correct? I haven't made my way to that part of the map yet.
@@BigZad42 I have other things to spend my Poes on. Also, apparently you can fuse them to the end of OTHER weapons, repair them, and then defuse them in Terry Town. Still no modifier, but it gets the job done.
Due to the low durability of those weapons, I decided to go with the zora weapons instead which doubles the weapons damage for 40 seconda. In battle I just talked to sidon like once every 30-40 seconds and he put water all around me. Incase he wasnt around, I just threw a splash fruit on the ground right in front of me. Usually ran around with a 150 damage short sword which was quite nice.
Knocking the sturdy thick stick. It is a fine weapon in a pinch with a monster drop. Tends to last longer than just sticking a blue lizalfos horn to a rusty halberd.
We are gonna reminisce on the days silver lynel saber horns were the best fuse item in the game when we have golden lynel saber horns with a master mide dlc.

So I know this is a bit late, but, if you use a pristine royal guards claymore, you can get a damage per hit of 208 Also, if you want to change the modifiers on a weapon, you can drop the item you want to clear the modifier on, and fuse it to something else, then have it broken down, the weapon you hold won't be effected, but the one dropped then fused will have all modifiers cleared.
Let’s say you found the modifier you wanted on a bow, if that modified weapon like the bow is about to break wouldn’t you need to roll that weapon over again just to repair it?
the octorock tip is a great one, but I see too many people hyping up Royal Guard weapons. the double attack is great, but it only works for the last 3 hits. Gerudo weapons are much more useful, since they always give the double damage in exchange for lower max durability and lower base damage.
U can hit his claw but only when hes glowing ... in other words if uve already collected from the dragon a , horn, claw , scale, or spike u have to wait about 10 min till he glows again then u can collect a claw or what ever other piece u want...
I love the Scimitar of the seven + Silver Lynel saber horn! I would have loved to see it still look like a Scimitar. I cannot get the Octoroks to buff it though, or my Boulder Breaker. :( they were both flashing red / damaged.

I found a way to make to the weapon even more stronger if you find a clean Royal Guards Claymore in the Depths and find those sword men statue things you'll be able get one it'll just take bit a time with the clean one though you can go up to max attack power of 208 +10 attack from the octorok

You can save before doing this and if you get a modifier that you don't want you can just reload the game and try again and try to get a modifier that you want from the OCT
when i save in front of an octorok and reload the octorok is never there. is there something i can do to have them spawn again? im trying to reroll for enchants.

thats only if you saved after the octorock died or you loaded an autosave. just load a save before it died

The Lynel material is very cool to make blades.
Right now, my strongest is the Blue Lizal horns. I can't wait to smack one lynel just to make many of their horns later on.

Make sure to pick your item up before the octorok spits another rock out. The rock will destroy your item if it hits it.

Unfortunately you cannot upgrade or reset the durability of champion weapons.

The upgrade of attack permanent? or will just reroll between perks every time it eats the weapon? The maximum is +10, will that change stay even if I roll a durability up?
only one upgrade can be ative if u have atack +10 and change for durability the atack +10 u will lose them

Can any type of bow be upgraded to multi shot this way or just specific ones.
Sadly, they don't seem to do anything for special weapons (neither repair nor enhance) such as the Goddess Blade & Boggoron Sword
U just need to fuse them to something else and the octorok will repair both

You can save before doing this and if you get a modifier that you don't want you can just reload the game and try again and try to get a modifier that you want from the OCT
