Hi Issac. I wanted to give you a clever hack I seen for making template for a cut out. Lets say its the curve of the ceiling for a shower wall: take a substance like chalking or tooth paste ( black would be probably better) and rub it on the ceiling and down the wall on the area you need the shape to be. The outline. Then put your paper on it and then take off. The area with the substance will be your outline. Then just wipe off the ceiling and wall. You can get rolls of paper or use card board.
Love your personality over most channels. I can tell you are doing what you Love. ❤Happy to be subscribed. And happy to support you whatever type of video you decide to film. Much appreciation brother.
Nice find with the flooring! I hope it works out the way you imagine. Who knows, you may start a trend with future bus builders. Have a Happy New Year!
We also put a Dricore product in our Promaster van. Same situation with us we had to special order it from Home Depot. The version we bought serves the same purpose but didn’t have the wood attached. They do recommend a gap where this meets the wall for air flow
@@isaacturnerit we’re building out our van as the funds are available so we don’t have our walls up yet. As far as walking on it we love it. Our insulation is 1” thick with the plywood sub-floor is 5/8”. Only one squeaky spot. I glued it all with what you used as well.
That floor looks great Issac. Happy New Year to you, Jaylena, Ember and your babysitter that gives you and Jaylena time to work on your rigs, sorry I forgot her name. But Happy New Year to you all!🎉🎉🎉
**Happy New Year Isaac!** I figured I'd never get my bus completely leak proof. I mean it's sheet metal screwed and riveted together. So I drilled holes in the floor where the floor meets the walls right below the windows (2 per window) so when it does leak the water can drain out instead of pooling.
Gee you did a great job on that. Looks like it will work just fine. Happy New Year!!! Isac, Jaylena and Ember as wishing you a joyous year ahead. Much Love Leann.
Looks like a product that will be just great for you. You are one of the great ones who share what you learn so other will have an easier time. You are just a great guy Isaac.
Hey Isaac, happy new year to you and the family! Man I like that stuff you used on your floor seemed like it went in pretty quick and easy. a lot quicker than those fake wood slats. Sounds like a good plan I'll be watching down the road for your later review on this product.looks like you'll be able to get down on this build now, that's great hope you-all have a great new year,! Hope ember is cruising well on her new tractor❤❤❤😊
I live in Canada and watch many home reno shows and Dricore subfloor is a very popular product used by many contractors. I hope gluing it down didn't block too many of the air flow channels which is the point of it. I hope it works for you!! Can't wait to see what's next with your bus build!!
Now I’ll try sourcing this in Australia looks like a good way to do my new Van by myself thanks for sharing looks good, question why are you drilling ?, and is that drilling going through the metal floor ??,
These panels have been around for years, they are usually used on basement concrete floors. There are now available by different manufacturers offering a variety of back materials.
Floor should be the best you have done 😊 so much work but going to be an amazing build! About to start the build and that and the is so exciting….. love this project ❤️😎❤️
Looks great Issac! All the best for the new year! 🎉 this has to be your year after all the bad luck you’ve had the last 6 months! I can see enjoyable stuff finally happening!
Good news is...good news. I sat here watching you install, playing devil's advocate in my head & honestly at the end of the day, I can't see a downside to that flooring.(other than particle board, don't get me started) I am also following a photographer in England, who is demo-ing an RV. His moisture problem, was way worse than Jayleana's. Everything you try, I'm paying pretty close attention😉👍
Happy New Years Issac. I was wondering if the adhesive will stop airflow when it hardens? If you should just screw it down. We will see. I hope it works out for you. ❤❤
Yep, that stuff is awesome! Used it in my build about 3 years ago. The click together is nice. Worst part is having to pick through the pile at my local Home Depot. More than half the stock they have at any given time is severely damaged.
Now that I have watched more, why did you glue and screw that down?! Whole idea is for it to be a floating sub-floor, that wood will expand and contract with the seasons.
I’m confused so you laid the foam on top of the metal then the plywood that’s already attached? Oh, forget about it I remember you soundproof your floors.
Some soundproofing materials also double as insulation. I never about it until watching him and jaylena. Now I'm glad I do because there's so much more than I never knew!!! I've learned how to and actually replaced a vent on top of my camp trailer. Just from watching them. TH-cam University 😅
Isaac if I were you I would cut the part out about the sub floor material you mentioned because it's free advertisement for that company. Guarantee they will contact you to mention their product again, lol.
Did an entire basement with Dricore and made it super comfortable. Had the plastic grooves underneath not the foam, which came out after. You can frame on top of it and even do carpet straight on top. I was able to buy it straight off the shelf. Aprox 4 years ago though. 10/10 great product, would reccomend!
Isaac Turner ( i work on boats fiberglass & fire don't mix it will burn and turn to dust if not do worse i saw a fiber glass truck-cab's on fire its nasty i had a shop burn to the ground 2 white fiberglass cab trucks in the fire!) ok i was in lowe's last night i want my floor with hard insulation board on hard wood floor in camper with like 1/2 inch insulation reflective side (put down) its a board i took a tape measure i cult one 4x8 sheet of this & it fit in the car really it will do walk ways & under the table rest has foam pads & do door things! why the weather by mid January it will like - 25 below normal 35 20 Williamsport 2 -7 this the town closet to me ever ok it 25 lower then normal -20 really Where Could Blackouts Hit During January 2025 Historic Cold? David DuByne's Adapt 2030 i tell you i saw -30 f here one time in 29 years here he saying like texas & the power grid failed mine fails on snow storm and ice storm really! all ready
Interesting find. I hope it works out. I went to the DriCore website and it looks like its original purpose was as subflooring over concrete, which can be damp. So, basically, the dampness is coming from the underside where the foam portion is, and the channels help it evaporate before it can soak into the plywood portion. I'm wondering how effective it will be against water that comes from the top, soaking through the plywood, as most leaks in buses would probably do. I admit that I am pretty much a novice at all this so maybe there is no reason for my apprehension. I really do hope it works the way you imagine.
Looks like a good solution, but yes, please do a follow-up. I'm hoping to start my VW Kombi build in 2025. Have decided to keep a tiny-home base and tour with a less fancy build. Best of both worlds, I think.
IF any condensation gets under there some strange way, where can you get air into those panels to let it evaporate etc...........hard to explain. Happy New Year and best wishes to you and your little family. Blessings
When I watch your videos, I rarely looking at the background. Today I did though and had to smile when I noticed your "Proud to Be Filipino" flag on the wall! Every Sketchy Filipino should have that! 😂 That flooring definitely looks good, in theory. I hope it does the job and will be anticipating an update down the road! Love and respect to you always!
It must be so great, to be able to work on the Bus and RV, without having to worry about, the next House Drama. All the best to you and your Family in 2025.
Sorry, no the footage doesn't look great, it looks as if you're filming through a glass bowl, very distorted.. But the rest of the video was awesome, as always
This might turn out to be your best and driest bus build yet. Loving it. Glad the other work is behind you and your builds are legal.
Hope sooo!!
Nice job Isaac. With all the work you did sealing all those leaks it looks like with that product you should be in good shape.
Hope so!
Thank you, issac, for sharing your fantastic knowledge with us all . ❤

I would put ceramic tiles as you come in the door. That would be really pretty. Have a happy new year

@@isaacturnerit. I would be concerned about the weight of ceramic tile.

@ if you’re referring to the gap clearance I only found out by the Q&A through HD website and Dricore’s responses
How you like it so far?

Doesn't that allow insects etc a way in? Just curious.
Well, I'm just floored by your bus floor! LOL, just kidding. Well done, Isaac.

If you completely seal the perimeter edges then unless there are holes in the metal floor of the bus how is the moisture going to evaporate?
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, dude. Lessgo! 😎
Hope it works out on the floor.

Can you make a video explaining each part of the bus that needs sealed up? Like where to find the rivets, seams, etc

A good place to get vans, buses,RVs ,etc - is an auction. Police auctions , no reserve auctions.
