    Just discovered your channel and starting to learn from your expertise. I live in Suriname, South America and have found a piece of P.Regout/ Maastricht porcelain which is part of a whole set of dinnerware. I wonder if you have information about this Dutch pottery and its use of Chinese images. Thanks

    So sad to see western took a lots of treasure from forbidden city but the other need to thanks to them if they don’t take them, all of the Chinese government at that time could destroy them 😫

      Actually, contrary to those reports of destruction, a vast amount of art was saved and preserved by Communists and Mao's people. Millions of piece were taken from the Mainland to Taiwan out of fear of this potential destruction. It however was not in the end much of a reality. Some groups of people did damage and wreck pieces. However, the Palace Museum and National Art Museum in Beijing and the Shanghai Museum are pretty good evidence much was preserved. best Peter
