Despite people not liking the gameplay of Destiny Child the game is super friendly with rewards and methods of leveling (and gearing) your characters. Nikke can certainly learn a bit more from it predecessor
I'm having a lot of fun with this game. The only issues I have outside the stuff you said about gacha is the event that is currently running. You have stages where you have to spend a currency you either buy in the shop with gems or refills you get each day but the catch is that the event stages only have a chance to give you currency for the event shop and only using certain nikke will give you higher % of getting them and ofc the gacha nikke has the highest bonus. This is ofc only the first event the game has ever gotten but I hope it gets better with time.
The missions will give you plenty of currency to buy out the shop. And since this game doesn't have the conventional stamina system they have to limit the farming of event currency because you can buy unlimited resources from the shop.
I’ve been loving it. Gacha has been really great every other 10 pull has given me an SSR. I’m not sure if I’m the only one but from who I’ve talked with the gacha has been super generous and I hope this is the case for everyone. I do not like the fact that the “stamina” for the outpost only gives you 2 uses and it resets every week. Blue archive does it perfectly where it’s a daily thing but hopefully that changes other than that it’s been a great game to play when bored
ive gotten really lucky and MLB'd my first SSR today while still being F2P. The only problem I have is when some enemies take forever to kill if you don't have the "element" advantage. also jumping spiders suck

Long video so i forget if you mentioned the SSR/SR molds both have a chance of getting you a SSR unit. Over all i totally agree that the monetization in the game isn't worth the swipe.
didn't mention them but they're like social point gacha, it's nice to have and you might get someone new but you're not gonna be rolling them all the time if you're f2p; not to mention gold mold is still only 60% for SSR. I'll likely do a min-max video for nikke so hopefully i won't forget to mention them there
12:05 You stopped using your head right there lol Sniper Rifle = Long Ranged High Damage Single Target Rocket Launcher = Long Ranged Explosive AOE It doesn't require that much thinking... lol
What makes you play certain gatchas? Is the game play? Aesthetic or what? There is like a flood of gatchas games noways which is so tempting, but that catches your interest? nice review btw always like to hear your opinion!
Cute girls with guns is a big one, as I came from an FPS background before i devolved into gachas. Three out of the seven gachas I main are just that: Girls' Frontline, Blue Archive, and now Nikke. (Four if you count Arknights for its "tacticool" aesthetic.) But the main one would be gameplay - if the game isn't fun to play or if I can't see what makes a certain gacha's gameplay fun, then I likely won't have much interest for it. For example, there's a new Girls' Frontline gacha coming out soon (or already is released) called Girls' Frontline Neural Cloud, but it's an auto-chess game and I don't care much for auto-chess games, so I'll just wait for GFL 2 whenever that gets announced for global. The one exception is Azur Lane, I just play that for the waifus since its gameplay is hit or miss.
Ngl the only reason I'm still playing this game is story, and gameplay because I would've drop it instantly because of it's aggressive monetization, and I only buy the monthly, and that's it for me
I actually also decided to try this game, gameplay, art style, story and soundtrack are pretty nice, but monetization policy is horrendous. I am full f2p and have reached commander lvl40 and stage 7-24, i have 6 ssr at lvl 80 and squad power at 16k, to progress further i need to lvl up my ssr nikkes and i have nowhere near enough mileage tickets or gacha currency to limit break them. Basically, to progress any further through the game I have to use sr nikkes and my ssrs are completely useless (locked at their current battle strength, which is insufficient). They really need to implement something along the lines of Bullins from azur lane, other wise all ssr nikkes on f2p will become useless past act 7. I really wish they do something about this.
A friend of mine thats around where you are in the game said that you could use the synchro machine to cheese the limit break system for SSRs. Just put 5 SRs that you've limit broken at the highest level you can get and then put the SSRs you want to use in the bottom. You could even fully reset the SSR's levels so that you have some resources for your SRs
at the point you are at, you can unlock 10 slots for the synchro machine, you can also reset your SSR levels getting full mat refund and level up your SRs and put your SSRs in the machine, which lets you break past the lv80 limit up to 160, specially more so when there are some SR units like Neon,Anis, Rapi or Anne who are pretty useful too, its intended for this to let you have more units to par way faster early on
@@bdingkle7596 and others, thx for the tip, i already started switching to upgrading my sr, but the fact the fact that syncro device bypasses lvl limit is strange. Yeah you can also refund your materials from upgrading, this fact escaped me.
I'll try it because the gameplay looks interesting. I usually spend a little on any gacha game I play for a while but I don't think this one's worth it.
Before I watch the video, I just want to say that I liked the game, but not enough to continue playing. Especially when Neural Cloud is around the corner. My biggest gripe aren't the bugs, instead it's the simulation. It takes too long to farm and I'm already getting tired of it. I'm interested in the story though, so I might just do that occasionally or watch youtuber clearing it.
As good as the gasme is, i think it is impossible. The mechanics are very difficult and as an f2p, you cant get all that far until you grind out over multiple weeks. Im already ready to quit.
I think that the Monthly 30-day supply is kinda like the Welkin in Genshin and the battlepass where in we get the Diesel skin is the actual battle pass correct me if im wrong tho
it is, yeah. I still don't like how NIkke's battle pass is set up and much prefer Genshin's tho, since Genshin gives you way more time to reach lv50 and comes in either the $10 or $20 versions, and buying the $20 lets you skip the first 10 levels, whereas Nikke's is $20 flat and doesn't even give you Diesel's skin right away because you gotta grind out all 15 levels first. I'll probably get used to it over time but just the fact that Genshin's battle pass gives players, especially F2P's, way more time to finish it still makes it better imo (that and assuming Shift Up releases a new battle pass as soon as the previous one expires, that means I gotta pay more frequently for these battle passes)
@@TouhouSniper98 true, the monetization of the game is shiet compared to the rest of the gacha games i've played and the only thing that I think is worth is the monthly one.
How long is the Commander going to keep me waiting? I have better things to do... Edit: I am already 4 gachas deep, can't afford starting a new one, but interesting video regardless
I 100% agree man, I'm just going to buy the 30 Day Gem Pass and call it there! I spent $4.4k in Azur Lane and Arknights altogether overtime in the last 3 years because their packs are so damn worth it, like they give you a huge value for your money, this game? Fuck no, the packs are so damn bad PLUS the High Quality Molds were originally 100% for a SSR in the CBTs. Why did they changed it? I don't fucking know and it's absolutely bs that they did because the packs with the High Quality Molds are trash. Overall I love the game, it's amazing. Sad part is that all these bugs that is happening wasn't even a thing in the CBTs. I think it happened due to the modifications coding that they implemented like the High Quality Mold % change, numerous packs in the shop, and etc is what fucked up the game.
Not a big fan with the sequence burst to be honest. It limits the amount of teams you can use a character on. It would've been better if there was no sequence but you can only use burst 3 of the 5 characters in one rotation.
agree on this one. modular systems are almost always better because of the freedom they give to players, but clearly the devs just want you to roll more characters
ye, 4% is far better than most gachas, but that shouldn't be an excuse for the devs to fucking shove packs down our throat with the cash shop and constant flash sales, not to mention the terrible per pack value and exorbitant multi roll cost
Combat is fun but gacha seems pretty stingy and F2P progress is very slow, I'm a day 1 player and still only chapter 6 as a F2P and I see players way further ahead. Feel like the experience is much more fun for dolphin/whales even more so than other gacha games.
sorry that gacha for nikke's been holding out on you, 4% is very generous compared to many other gachas out there so hopefully your luck turns around at some point. And never compare F2P progress with dolphin/whale progress, that experience isn't exclusive to Nikke and applies to basically all gachas; all seven gachas that I play have heavy elements of being able to whale for faster progress. Not only that but Nikke is supposed to be an idle game where the limiting factor on progress isn't stamina but your own account power, and with how the game's set up, you can't farm for mats actively, only passively thru the outpost defense thing (and I guess mission rewards too from completing campaign battles). So take it easy, grind those dailies/weeklies, and try your best not to look at everyone else going lightspeed ahead of you.
@@TouhouSniper98 also, not to mention that the wishlist for general banner and the pity for the advanced recruitment are pretty decent systems, which wont punish F2P if they want to do rolls for a unit that they want even fi its not meta or something, since the pity carries over and doesnt reset if getting the featured unit, and wishlist giving a higher chance to get dupes for limit breaks, not to mention there is a 2% chance to get an SSR on FP gacha plus the level sync that helps keeping a good ammount of units on same power level without going a massive deep end in resources
I am day 4 f2p player and already at chapter 8 Just use exp cases in your inventory to boost yourself :D Also use crystals to wipe out outpost few times every day PS i dont have op chars, didnt bother with rerolling
I feel like the modern gacha game evolved to a state where f2p friendly is p2w need to suffer more so f2p don't feel as bad when they see a dolphin or a baby whale(since those 2 practically are the same as f2p)!
nah just game devs/publishers getting more and more greedy to see what they can keep getting away with. That and this game has south korean devs, and korean devs are historically infamous for putting out hella shady p2w games
I don't think you're characterizing the gems worth very fairly, because yeah, genshin impact gives you about 5 muitis per $100 pack, but you're not even close to getting an SSR with those 5 multis at a 1.6% SSR rate, meanwhile in Nikke, you get 3 multis yes, but the SSR rate is 4%, which is TRIPLE the rate of genshin, so these 3 multis can give you way more than the 5 multis you get in Genshin...
Genshin 5-Star rate is 0.6%, so Nikke SSR rate is even better than just triple. I've been told that mathematically speaking, the value of Nikke packs is actually better than what I portray here, as you said. The main issue I have at this point is that Nikke came out with something like ~45 SSR's, so while you should expect to get many more SSR's on average in Nikke in a given amount of rolls compared to Genshin, the problem is that unless you're rolling for rate-up like Helm rn, if you want a specific SSR for top tier or waifu purposes, good luck trying to roll them, especially if you have my kind of consistently below-average luck. Because once you understand what you're looking for in the gacha after taking one look at the tier list, any SSR you get that isn't blatantly top tier is one you probably won't care very much for. It's because of that phenomenon that the 4% SSR rate in Nikke is pretty damn deceptive IMO, especially because this game seems like one where top tiers will handily dominate the meta. Even if you want to run off-meta teams that can do very well, good luck rolling each and every one of the units you need to put those kinds of teams together. Now, give this game a few more months for the early game chaos to settle, and naturally this becomes less of an issue as people will have been able to roll more and get more SSR's to eventually fill out their rosters, get top tiers/waifus, and level up their Synchro Devices so that they can bypass the need to get dupes, so the focus then rests on rate-up banners. Even then, to guarantee a rate-up character in Genshin needs at most $360, whereas to guarantee a rate-up in Nikke, you'd need ~$600. Sure, Nikke has a much higher SSR rate, but it's still only 4%; you can shove me all the maths on how likely you are to get an SSR with that sort of a rate, but that doesn't matter when you roll purple after purple after purple - or get SSR's that aren't rate-up. Seeing that yesterday I got a multi on standard banner that got me all R's and no purples at all, people out there can certainly be forced to roll pity even in Nikke. The RNG variance is what I'm talking about, and because of how little rolls you get from a full pack and because of how expensive each gem multi is, I'm still inclined to speak poorly of Nikke's pack value.
@@TouhouSniper98 The lack of an actual pity system is very much hurting the game as it stands, however if you plan on lpaying in the long run, since you can just keep saving the golden mileage tickets from doing rolls on the special banner, there will be a moment where you'd be able to straight up just max a new character without even rolling on their banner. However I do agree that in the short run, Nikke value per pack could be considered low because even if the chance is absurdly small, there will be people who are just that unlucky, because 200 pulls in Nikke on average will net you around 8 SSRs, from which you'd have to loose that 50/50 on all of them to reach the "hard pity" and have to resort to straight up buying the character from the shop. We'll see if after the launch chaos (and the insane amount of game breaking bugs we have atm) the game still holds up, but for now, as a low spender, I feel the game does have a very bright future.
Yeah we'll have to see how things play out for this game. And 100% agree that if you don't feel like spending on this game, you're smooth sailing for sure, hence why I say at the beginning of this vid that Nikke is good, just try not to get baited into spending like me lol
don't overthink it man, gachas by nature (especially more "modern" ones that come out these days as opposed to years ago) are pretty simple, so if you don't find yourself having fun with a game within the first like 15 min, you likely won't have fun with it even with another couple hours or days.

nah just game devs/publishers getting more and more greedy to see what they can keep getting away with. That and this game has south korean devs, and korean devs are historically infamous for putting out hella shady p2w games
Can F2P get through the story? I am stuck on chapter 13.
Can I get into Arknights or Azur Lane even though I am late, missing all the good units and outfits?
i love the game. im taking a break in fgo lmao so this is new to me
I don't think you're characterizing the gems worth very fairly, because yeah, genshin impact gives you about 5 muitis per $100 pack, but you're not even close to getting an SSR with those 5 multis at a 1.6% SSR rate, meanwhile in Nikke, you get 3 multis yes, but the SSR rate is 4%, which is TRIPLE the rate of genshin, so these 3 multis can give you way more than the 5 multis you get in Genshin...
I'm already playing FGO and Azur Lane, I can't do anymore 😭
me who plays 6-7 gacha games
i've played a few hrs and haven't found much enjoyment in the game. But everyone seys the game is great, maybe this video will convince me
don't overthink it man, gachas by nature (especially more "modern" ones that come out these days as opposed to years ago) are pretty simple, so if you don't find yourself having fun with a game within the first like 15 min, you likely won't have fun with it even with another couple hours or days.
Scarlet - Yae Miko Eng. VA
Harran - Raiden Eng. VA
Volume - Xinyan Eng. VA
I just can't play more gacha
Its an idle game. If you are worried about time investment as long as you can log in and click 2 buttons every 12 hours you'll progress just fine.
LMAO
Nah these prices almost as bad as bleach brave souls. Might be worse but probably not much.
