Its crazy I work with women younger then me. I'm 37 and they had no clue this was a cover. I don't listen to country but remember I loved this song growing up I wanted to play the guitar because of it. I'm glad Tracey chapman a queer black woman can finally get her shine on the country charts.
Tracey Chapmans original is country , unlike other versions like the chick's, he hasn't changed it at all , it's a great copy for those who don't know the proper version it does seem odd for a man to sing the lyrics of a womans view of a useless father to her kids and her wasted life
