About ACL -
The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in the knee is very important for keeping it stable. The ligament is very important for keeping the knee stable. This ligament joins the upper leg and lower leg bones to each other. There are chances of an injury in the anterior cruciate ligament while over-straightening of your knee, bending or twisting it, landing down incorrectly after a jump or while playing football. Women are more susceptible for contracting anterior cruciate ligament injury. ACL Surgeries are ideally done by orthopaedic surgeons.
Symptoms of ACL injury
People or athletes always present their symptoms like- ‘ I planted my foot, I felt my knee get twisted, the pop sound came and I was unable to continue the game.
However it is very rare but possible that a player injures his/her ACL but continues to play and later after the knee starts hurting, unable to move and swelling occurs; or they present whenever I walk on any ‘uneven surface’ or inclined surface’ I feel instability in my knee. They feel that the knee is giving away.
Pain - Pain is very sharp, like cutting pain and can make you unable to move or lift the leg.
Swelling - There will be some swelling immediately after the injury but in some cases the swelling is progressive for next 24 hours. It can last up to a week.
Giving away - lack of confidence while walking, running or walking on an uneven surface or inclined surface, feeling of instability in the knee.
Laxity in the knee joint.
Feeling of shin bone moving excessively forward.
In common words the feeling of dislocation of the knee can happen if I walk or run. Painful weight bearing.
What are the types of ACL injuries?
There are three grade
Grade 1- The fibres of ligament are stretched but there is no tear, the ligament can still keep the knee joint stable.
Grade 2- The fibres of anterior cruciate ligament are partially torn means half fibres of ACL are torn or incomplete tear with hemorrhage, the ACL cannot provide full stability of the knee joint. Prognosis of grade 2 partial ACL tear is poor and requires surgery.
Grade 3- The fibres of ACL are completely torn means it’s completely torn into two parts. Grade 3 is the most common type of ACL injury.

if the bone fragment is displaced from original place, ligament repair surgery using internal brace technique can be done.

@@allinonechannel8666 i undergone surgery on 24 march 2023.......i was late 2 years ...please dont ignore it .....and yes i am okay ...i got muscles imbalance in my leg which is normal after surgery..i go to gym in order to restore imbalance...now it is much better.......do mri then on dr. Consultant do rehab or surgery then rehab ..best suited ....just dont ignore...i regret ignoring it for 2yrs if i had take action earlier ..it wouldn't took this much time to get my knee better ...in my case to achieve same amount of muscles ,strength as non operative leg it will take at least 3 years with consistency and healthy protein rich diet.....one thing due to this much late ...i also got meniscus tear which slowed down my progress....so its my suggestion treat it as soon as possible ...till the time u r not doing anything try to build strong muscles and strength......try to build storng hamstring, it is affected most after surgery......it will help u to avoid lot of muscle loss after surgery..since after surgery u cannot walk it ..muscles are left unused causing muscle imbalance which is normal ........and yes i undergone surgery with bio screw not with fibertape ...my dr. Suggested me it is best for athletic people ....not for other ...i undergone surgery in ram manohar lohia ,lucknow ...it costed me around 1.2 lakh ....i always wanted to have my surgery under manu bora sir ...but it was unaffordable for me plus far from my city ...i live in kanpur.....btw now i can jog on treadmill and half single leg squat ....this is my progress till now ....never ignore rehab ...after surgery if u had to undergo restore knee flexion , extension ....most imp ...watch videos on rehab after acl by channel on yt name "RehabE3"...Thankyou ..i hope i replied u for every question ....just believe your dr.

Comminuted fracture in the upper end of tibia with involvement of the lateral tibial articular margin and tibial spine.
- Substance signal is seen in the whole length of the ACL though their continuity is preserved.? PARTIAL ACL TEAR
- ACL is attached over the fracture fragment.
- PCL is normal.
- Grade II signal is seen in the posterior horn of medial meniscus. Lateral meniscus is normal.
- Fluid is seen in the supra and subpatellar bursa--------? HEMARTHEROSIS. periarticular soft tissues edema is seen
Medial collateral and lateral collateral ligaments are normal in morphology, signal intensity and outline.
Both the medial and lateral retinaculae are normal. The articular cartilage is normal in signal intensity with no evidence of any chondromalacia.
