After rewatching it again, I came up with a theory (feel free to disagree): Somebody that I used to know is a Post-SQUIP incident. After breaking up their friendship, fast forward to the future, Jeremy and his friends attends one of the MITB (Michael in the Bathroom) band's concert. In which they perform the STIUTK. Jeremy not noticing Michael was there, while Michael noticing Jeremy was there. This boils Michael's anger and thus it felt like it was directed to Jeremy. But then, in Still Into You, MITB's next song, Michael learned to let go of the anger and forgave him. But then, in here Rich arrives, or enters and acts all flirty with Michael which causes Jeremy to leave. Jeremy may still be guilty of what he has done and has no idea how to handle it. But Michael notices that, with the Remark "I'm still into you." while showing the Red String of Fate connecting to the crowd, probably leading to Jeremy. In Sk8ter Boi, this is EITHER a flashback in where Rich and Jeremy crossed paths after Broken Friendship incident where Rich tries to guilt trip Jeremy of the things he has done OR Rich and Jeremy meets after the concert (or after the song, cause maybe Rich was just a special guest for the song) and also tries to tell Jeremy that Michael is inlove with him (Rich). In Nostalgia, Jeremy messages Michael through his old phone number "I need you... Please" and Michael arrives during Jeremy's drunken state. They start to reminisce about the past thus the title "Nostalgia". One of the memories they started to remember is the time they broke off their friendship. Where Jeremy told Michael to find someone else... But back to the present, Jeremy acts very sorry for saying those words. Now that he realized he has feelings for Michael. In here (Bad Romance), this happened after those things happened. This is one of MITB's recent concert. A special/mystery fan gets to be featured at the stage for a certain celebration. And that mystery fan turns out to be none other than Rich. He starts to sing while trying to get close to Michael to initiate the "Suprise Kiss" to confess to Michael. But at the same time, Jeremy interrupts with his High Note stealing the attention and them turning to him. Jeremy's eyes filled with Determination to try and get Michael back. This is where Rich finally confesses to Michael "I want your love, I don't wanna be friends." Now realizing this, accepts Rich. But then gets interrupted by Jeremy singing "I don't wannna be friends" recalled a very bitter memory of them fighting and breaking their friendship. Michael notices what is happening between the 2 (Jeremy and Rich) and his fellow band members try to bring him to reality saying to play his guitar. With his mixed feelings of anger and a whole others, both fighting rivals gets interrupted by a loud strike of the electric guitar coming from Michael. Singing "I want your lovin' " while looking at Rich while "I want your revenge" while looking at Jeremy with an uncomfortable look. And continues "All your love is revenge" while glaring at Jeremy. Ahhhh I love this so much!! The talent and effort are top notch! I usually go for the Michael and Jeremy pairing, but in this situation, I feel like Jeremy had his chance and ruined it. Jeremy broke Michael’s heart when Michael was so in love with him, and Rich was there to pick up the shattered pieces. Rich was there for Michael when Michael needed someone the most and helped Michael build himself back up again. While Jeremy was focused on social status, Rich was focused on Michael. Ahhhh I love this so much!! The talent and effort are top notch! I usually go for the Michael and Jeremy pairing, but in this situation, I feel like Jeremy had his chance and ruined it. Jeremy broke Michael’s heart when Michael was so in love with him, and Rich was there to pick up the shattered pieces. Rich was there for Michael when Michael needed someone the most and helped Michael build himself back up again. While Jeremy was focused on social status, Rich was focused on Michael. The answer is easy to see; my vote goes to Rich!
I completely agree with you! I love Boyf Riends but Jeremy turned Michael down in the past and broke both his heart and their friendship, and now he wants to just stroll back into Michael’s life and try and get with him even though he lost his chance? I’m going to have to go with Rich as well!
