I found. Them about three days ago and I’ve been Lovebitten! Damn, these girls slay it hard! You hear one girl slay it on a solo and think ‘Well she’s the lead guitar’ and then the other comes in and does it every bit as good! Hope the new bassist can hang because this one also killed it. Powerful vocalist, but my fav, the one I love the most is the mini mighty Haruna!! Wow!! Those drums never stop!! Whatever she wants I will do for her. I am putty in her hands when she plays. 😍😍
This is the way to react the first time you experience Lovebites. You are where I was in December 2020. Now I have the full catalogue on CD, DVD and BluRay (bar one, which is very rare and very expensive). A year ago I got the logo tattoo and I have stopped listening to anything else, and check new reactions every day. I’ll be seeing a lot of you by the looks of it. Not only are they all beautiful but they have equally beautiful personalities. You couldn’t wish to meet (if only) more self effacing, genuine people. They are a breath of fresh air. 95% of their lyrics are positive and 100% of what they have released so far is flawless. Better still, it’s actually more flawless (if that’s not an oxymoron) live. I love them, and I’m 63 years old!! Best band ever. Bold statement, but I don’t care. They’re metal perfection, in every possible sense.

I have to add, Asami, before joining Lovebites was an R&B/Soul/Jazz and a some rock singer. She was ignorant about heavy metal. But she is a revelation, an incredible metal singer and she is now not only accepted, but beloved in the fan base.

Yes!!!! Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. Yes, they toured in the UK with DragonForce. They absolutely love them. Lovebites is heavily inspired by British Metal & Thrash Metal. "The Crusade" is literally a tribute to Iron Maiden's "Aces High". "Break The Wall" was written after the bassist Miho went to a Slayer concert. If you're looking for a good song to follow up on this with, I would suggest going with... All of them. They don't have a single bad song at all. Seriously though, "Swan Song" with the Piano Etude intro, "Edge Of The World", "Burden Of Time" & "Epilogue" would be good choices as well as everything on their official channel. They've also done covers of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" & Judas Priest's "Painkiller", so those are floating out there as well.

Lovebites and Band-Maid both have played the UK before. Lovebites played several dates with Dragonforce, as well as appearing at Bloodstock in 2018, and Download 2019. They've also played other parts of Europe, including Paris, Madrid, and major festivals Grasspop in Belgium, and the holy grail of them all Wacken in Germany! Their bassist left last year, and they are currently auditioning new bassists, with plans to announce Miho's replacement sometime in August. So it is unlikely they will tour this year, but fingers crossed for next year! Hopefully they will include some stops in the US next time!

While you’re blown away, this is just a normal Saturday night for Midori and Miyako. To be fair though, it takes them thousands of hours of practice, these ladies are absolutely consummate professionals and very obviously work their asses off to be this good. I get flack for saying a lot of their stuff is a bit “samey” but they are just about to hire a new bassist and I think part of the job description is musical input. Here’s hoping. Let’s be honest though, AC/DC are “samey” but they still have a tonne of great music, so… Oh, and when I first saw this I immediately found the DVD and bought it.
I think it's not uncommon for bands in rock to be samey with a similar sound but this is very new to me and I am very much looking forward to the next one already

I'd have to say Set the World on Fire is probably my personal favorite from Lovebites, but it's hard to wrong with any of their tracks. They have some killer progressive ballads like Edge of the World as well.
LOVEBITES are more metal than Band-Maid, most of us think that they are the best metal band around. Their songs are for me more structured and pleasing to my ears. If Band-Maid is 8.5, then Lovebites is 9.4 out of 10; both brilliant but LOVEBITES just shave it for me. And then you still need to see Nemophila and Ningen Isu. Right now, Japan is leading the world with hard rock and metal. I found. Them about three days ago and I’ve been Lovebitten! Damn, these girls slay it hard! You hear one girl slay it on a solo and think ‘Well she’s the lead guitar’ and then the other comes in and does it every bit as good! Hope the new bassist can hang because this one also killed it. Powerful vocalist, but my fav, the one I love the most is the mini mighty Haruna!! Wow!! Those drums never stop!! Whatever she wants I will do for her. I am putty in her hands when she plays. 😍😍
This is the way to react the first time you experience Lovebites. You are where I was in December 2020. Now I have the full catalogue on CD, DVD and BluRay (bar one, which is very rare and very expensive). A year ago I got the logo tattoo and I have stopped listening to anything else, and check new reactions every day. I’ll be seeing a lot of you by the looks of it. Not only are they all beautiful but they have equally beautiful personalities. You couldn’t wish to meet (if only) more self effacing, genuine people. They are a breath of fresh air. 95% of their lyrics are positive and 100% of what they have released so far is flawless. Better still, it’s actually more flawless (if that’s not an oxymoron) live. I love them, and I’m 63 years old!! Best band ever. Bold statement, but I don’t care. They’re metal perfection, in every possible sense.

Lovebites I seen them in Edinburgh and Newcastle UK on tour with Dragon Force it was awesome in fact i am still on medication, also was told the drums and guitars have to go for therapy after every gig.

I have to add, Asami, before joining Lovebites was an R&B/Soul/Jazz and a some rock singer. She was ignorant about heavy metal. But she is a revelation, an incredible metal singer and she is now not only accepted, but beloved in the fan base.

Yes!!!! Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Yes, they toured in the UK with DragonForce. They absolutely love them. Lovebites is heavily inspired by British Metal & Thrash Metal. "The Crusade" is literally a tribute to Iron Maiden's "Aces High". "Break The Wall" was written after the bassist Miho went to a Slayer concert.
If you're looking for a good song to follow up on this with, I would suggest going with... All of them. They don't have a single bad song at all. Seriously though, "Swan Song" with the Piano Etude intro, "Edge Of The World", "Burden Of Time" & "Epilogue" would be good choices as well as everything on their official channel. They've also done covers of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" & Judas Priest's "Painkiller", so those are floating out there as well.

Lovebites and Band-Maid both have played the UK before. Lovebites played several dates with Dragonforce, as well as appearing at Bloodstock in 2018, and Download 2019. They've also played other parts of Europe, including Paris, Madrid, and major festivals Grasspop in Belgium, and the holy grail of them all Wacken in Germany! Their bassist left last year, and they are currently auditioning new bassists, with plans to announce Miho's replacement sometime in August. So it is unlikely they will tour this year, but fingers crossed for next year! Hopefully they will include some stops in the US next time!

While you’re blown away, this is just a normal Saturday night for Midori and Miyako. To be fair though, it takes them thousands of hours of practice, these ladies are absolutely consummate professionals and very obviously work their asses off to be this good. I get flack for saying a lot of their stuff is a bit “samey” but they are just about to hire a new bassist and I think part of the job description is musical input. Here’s hoping. Let’s be honest though, AC/DC are “samey” but they still have a tonne of great music, so…
Oh, and when I first saw this I immediately found the DVD and bought it.
I think it's not uncommon for bands in rock to be samey with a similar sound but this is very new to me and I am very much looking forward to the next one already

I'd have to say Set the World on Fire is probably my personal favorite from Lovebites, but it's hard to wrong with any of their tracks. They have some killer progressive ballads like Edge of the World as well.
I'll make sure to check them both out! So impressed already with them!
LOVEBITES are more metal than Band-Maid, most of us think that they are the best metal band around. Their songs are for me more structured and pleasing to my ears. If Band-Maid is 8.5, then Lovebites is 9.4 out of 10; both brilliant but LOVEBITES just shave it for me. And then you still need to see Nemophila and Ningen Isu. Right now, Japan is leading the world with hard rock and metal. Then you have to watch teenage drummers Junna (th-cam.com/video/UKr1H4Jv6is/w-d-xo.html), Yoyoka (th-cam.com/video/Njmd7hWGpr4/w-d-xo.html), Senri Kawaguchi (th-cam.com/video/V5YDxDuyKDI/w-d-xo.html) and Kanade Sato (th-cam.com/video/AfXukUSMEJM/w-d-xo.html). You need cans of coffee, my friend!

I think everybody who listen Lovebites the first time makes such a nice Face :-) And as R.Gray say listen to "Swan Song" Miyako is amazing on the Piano. Japanese Metal / Rock is growing and getting better and better, especially the female Bands. Bands like Hagane,Asterism and Tritend for example are so good
