Is there a way to make a servo with a timer used to pull a door open at sunrise and let it slide down at sunset automatically everyday? It's for a chicken coop.
I would say find an eye sensor for auto head lights for cars...the light ball thing in the dash of your car...they run on very little voltage..wire it in like a on and off switch....had luck wiring leds to my back porch that way...ran it off a twelve volt converter for house use ....
helped a lot, thanks
That will put absolutely massive stress on the servo, you need to brace the other end of the drum!
sweet have a quadqopter made a small one and put it on that works great : )

Can i have the winch you took the drum out of? I will pay shipping.
Can I use a mini servo?
Yep. I do. Just have to make sure it has the torque to pull/lift whatever your wanting to use it for
No need for an ESC?
I tried to do that but I just can not rotate the servomoterur in the opposite direction!! :/
Make sure the potentiometer is 50% rotated before you disconnect it
