    Great reaction Wave. Yes this and 'The One' started life as parts of the same song but were separated quite early in the writing process. The piano at the end was actually the bridge into 'The One' which followed this and closed out the first night of their Tokyo Dome shows in 2016. The two tracks also closed out the Metal Resistance album.
    I don't know a lot of Dream Theater and I've only watched a couple of videos, but based on that very limited exposure I found myself agreeing - they need to add some choreographed dance.😁
    Tokyo Dome was the sole live performance of TotD to date. It may have looked and sounded flawless, it wasn't without it problems ... just as they started Su-metal's IEM failed. I don't know how long it wasn't working for (it may have been just a few seconds), but apparently she was taking her cues from listening to the drums. She is so professional you wouldn't have a clue there was a problem.

    The fact that BABYMETAL manages to make a very complex progressive metal song kind of catchy, with both singing and dancing, is impressive. Like you said, Dream Theater are amazing musicians, but I think their music is more of a technical showcase rather than songs that is meant to be enjoyed by normal people. BABYMETAL takes the complexity and adds life to it.

      That's how i feel about animals as leaders lol (insane musicians but not for lay people)
      Also nothing makes me feel more like an outsider to music than watching reactors gush over snarky puppy. I get that they're extremely talented, but there's something that doesn't click that leaves me on the outside

  • @marionetamtz
    @marionetamtz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    This is the most underrated Babymetal song. It was played live only one time. Very few people mention it when they talk about their favorite BM songs. Not many reactors have reacted to this performance. To me, being Dream Theater my favorite band ever, listening to this for the first time was a total mindfck, a perfect mix between Babymetal and Dream Theater. I couldn't believe my ears. I remember I was like "there's no way they can come up with a choreography for this song" and they did.

    Always love the reaction to that piano section.
    This song was never performed again and it was exclusive for this special event at Tokyo Dome 2016 with 55K fans each night.
    The whole Kami Band and the girls did massive work to get there and played this flawless live concert, even with some sudden tech difficulties they made it through this really difficult song.
    Glad you enjoyed this unique gem of BM.🦊🤘🔥

      Su-metal and Moametal in an interview have mentioned they would want to perform it again. Although Moametal did say I don't remember how to perform it, in part because their were multiple choreographies (I assume lots of sections had variations) before the final was decided.

    I admit not being much into prog metal when I first listened to "TOTD" and I was quite like WTF. BUT when I watched this unique (literally) performance all made sense and, followed by "The ONE" became one of my favorite BABYMETAL moments. Not to mention I learned to enjoy more more prog metal because of this song. It's unique and it's a masterpiece.

      I really enjoyed them before 2014 also. I love the super early videos like their dance with Sakura Gakuin to the Lucky Star OP. Yui and Moa were the only ones wearing black t-shirts and were clearly the stars of that dance.
      Or Ijime Dame Zettai at Legend Z where they wore white robes. Or iine at Sakura Gakuin Graduation 2011. Yui and Moa dropped the performing faces when they thought nobody was watching. It's cute. It's also a rare performance of the rap part.

    • @BeccaVinesz
      @BeccaVinesz ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Delusional Yui discourse again, they still not learn or get over that. BM does not have an icon, all of them are "The One".
      Tokyo Dome was a peak of venue but everything else as artists BM never reached their yet that was only the beggining of the road.
      Venue size means nothing about a great or bad live performance, some of their most emotional and energetic shows were at smaller venues as well such as Uki Uki midnight, From Dusk Till Dawn, Trilogy Of Lights, Divine Attack, Monochrome & The Legend etc.

    • @Jordan-Ramses
      @Jordan-Ramses ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@BeccaVineszyone is entitled to their opinions. I think Momoko isn't as good as Yui. Mostly just because she doesn't match. Su and Moa are incredibly thin it looks odd having a more normal sized girl in formation.
      But also I think Yui was special and the most talented. But everyone can have their own opinions. I do feel a bit bad for Momoko. She is doing a good job. It's tough following Yui Mizuno.

    Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。In an interview, Su-Metal replied : "TOTD was very difficult, especially it has no rythm. It does, of course, but looks no ..... About 10 second after its start, I lost correct tune and it continued for the 1st verse, I regretted it ..... I am still regretful for it so I have an intention to retry it" (excerpt). Although I believe no one thought she was singing out of tune or in inaccurate pitch, the intricacy of this song made even our Metal Queen feel uneasy. In addition, after watching your video, I reconfirmed the reason why the band in BABYMETAL's back has been called "Kami (= God)"

    Tales Of The Destinies:-
    A tribute to Legendary progressive rock band "Dream Theatre", Babymetal only performed this song once which is at the Tokyo Dome to a crowd of 55000 fans over two nights which total of 110000 fans. This song genre is Progressive Metal and different from "Dream Theatre" which focuses more on Rock. That night Su-Metal ear-in monitor malfunction just as the song is about to kick in, Su-Metal has to relied on The Kami Band tempo changes to be able to synchronise with The Kami Band and both Yuimetal & Moametal. Considered Babymetal most technical song and complex composition. As seasoned pros, Babymetal did a superb job that night. Those who love progressive music will definitely appreciate the technical aspects and precision of the Kami Band and Babymetal complicated choreography. The piano melody bridge will lead to the last song The One from their Metal Resistance Album. Progressive Metal at its best. Only done once live at the Tokyo Dome.

I'm not sure how much we can trust your Babymetal playlist here on TH-cam, because I can't find any reactions for even the most popular songs, such as _Megitsune, Headbanger, Akatsuki, Karate, Babymetal Death_ or _BxMxC._ Not a single *Black Babymetal* song. Surely you must have seen most of that already, right? Have you got a more reliable list somewhere, so we know what to recommend next? Would love to suggest songs like _Syncopation, Yava_ or _Starlight,_ but that would feel very premature if you haven't even done _Catch Me If You Can yet!_
