- Hi guys! Today's video is a remake of a tutorial I made years ago on how to create a miniature 1/12 typewriter. This version is more detailed and much more realistic as it uses 3d modeling techniques. I’ll also show you how to improve the handmade version we created years ago to get a similar look as the one we’re designing today. Enjoy!
Here is the tutorial for the handmade version: • Miniature Vintage Type...

Wow, making a 1/12 scale typewriter is truly genius. Even the smallest parts look very clear and neat. Thank you for sharing!
You're very welcome and thank you for the kind words!
I love the effort you put into this relatively mundane object. It's those kinds of details that make dollhouses come alive!
Thank you so much! You’re so right. It’s these little details that add so much personality to a house 😊
I really like the printed typewriter but still prefer the vintage wooden one. Love the improvements! 🥰🥰🥰
I follow some Japanese miniature crafters, they create everything out of wood, so impressive!
I miss the days when you were crafting with wood, so creative and inspiring. 😍😍
Thanks for sharing!
Wow, I'm always amazed at the details you put into your miniatures. Technology has advanced so fast that it's hard to keep up with it. It was only a few years ago that I found videos about making miniatures on TH-cam. Everything was made by hand and now everyone is using machines to create more realistic models. That's great and I'm glad that miniaturists have the tools available. I'll be here admiring what is being made.
This is taking me back to High School typing lesson's on a manual typewriter 😄
This takes me back, loving the updates.
Thank you! Hard to believe the first version was from 6 years ago
@@TheSquaretoSpare 6 years, that's hard to believe it's been that long!
I keep being impressed and inspired by you!! 😮
I love watching you design things
Thanks so much!
the original tutorial was the first video I saw from you! i still have the typewriter I made :)
Looks so real! Great job
I saw the original typewriter video and was so impressed I planned to make one for my Dollhouse. I like this one just as much. The details on both are amazing! Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Thank you so much and happy holidays to you and your family as well 💕
@@TheSquaretoSpare, Thank you!
I’m been follow you for many years , I made the typewriter of memory of what I graduated it’s a pity that everything has changes and now they do almost everything by machine ,not as before but I’m old fashion I like to do everything like before by hands .
That’s awesome and I hope it’s still enjoyable for you
I need to make this. I made a mini resident evil diorama and I need to add a type writer. This is perfect.
Hi, Cat. It’s guys. Imma build this. Such an amazing project ❤
Also, remember to increase the sides on cylinders for smoother edges. And, with delicate resin prints, put the raw resin print in warm/hot water for 30sec and peel off supports. Then cure. It means less cleanup and nodules.
Thanks so much for that tip! I’ll have to try that method out!
Very cool 😀
Amazing work as always

Fabulous! Thanks! Kathleen
So cute! Love your work.
Thank you! 😊
I always wonder what you’re going to make next, that’s going to amaze me for the dollhouse. You never fail to impress 🤩🤩🤩 It’s so incredible how you make Tinkercad look so simple to use and create from, but I know it’s gonna take a LOT of practice for a novice like me 😁😁😁 Thanks for always being so inspiring 😊😊😊
It actually is that simple 😊 you’d be amazed at how quickly you’ll learn it as it’s so intuitive
@@TheSquaretoSpare thanks for always being so positive and encouraging. I love watching you create and learning new things from you 😊😊😊
Nicely done👍🏼
It looks amazing ur the best you slay!
Love this! You made it look so easy. Congrats on the sponsor too, I love hidden object games 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Wow the updated version of the typewriter looks stunning, thanks a lot for sharing!!
Thank you so much! It’s so fun updating old projects with new techniques
Love the green one
Have spent much of my life typing, since 1967. So small mistakes really grate, but could be easily fixed. Paper goes in the back of the platen, blank, and comes out the front with typing. You just stick a page in the back. All typewriters need a ribbon for the keys to hit and smack it into the paper.
Typewriters have a certain number of keys, not just whatever fits. This includes
... Shift at the ends of the first row and shift lock on the left of the second row.
What you are worst missing is any form of return to move the plate back to the start. On an electric, the return key is always double size and on the right. But on a manual like this, you need a return lever on the left end of the platen.
Try checking the Internet Archive for Montgomery Ward or Sears catalogs so you have a reference on details. This is better than most being sold, but you can step it up to chef's kiss.
Thanks for that feedback
The note thag was being typed is sooo cute 😊- it's the detail for me
I love that there’s a typewriter font available on most computers that gives the most beautiful result
Ok really cool miniature and I like that the original one you did looks like a classic, and this version reminds me of a more modern version that my parents had 🥰🥰 I'm actually going to try this software because I've been watching you use it so much 🤗🤗
I’m so glad you like it!
Love it! Will definitely be trying out the handmade version.
Hope you enjoy it!
Wowza!
Awesome 😊
Amazing as always! How do you decide what scale to use when sizing down objects? Is 1/12 your favorite?
Thank you! 1/12 is definitely my favorite :) I'll go smaller when the project is huge and I don't have the space for a 1/12 version (like my Winchester Mansion) or bigger when I need to fit other components like a motor (my motorized kitchen mixer). I hope that helps!
Impressive and attractive, but not quite as accurate as some of your other replicas. Like everything else, we get the best results when we reference the real thing. Just a few tweaks will get it there. Other commenters have mentioned some specifics; you may also want to check the size as this looks a bit large (although actual machines could vary widely in size, the paper would always be the same, about 3/4" wide in mini). Sorry to seem so critical; I do love your mini as I loved the first one from years ago. You're just so good at what you do that our expectations are very high!
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll double the measurements and scale it accordingly
wow
Random question, but is it specifically the mono 2 resin printer you have? Lately you have inspired me to wanting to delve into resin printing (: I especially love your patient walk through of how to sculpt the various things.
Hi there! I have the anycubic mono photon but I believe they may have discontinued that older model
where do get those tools please let me know😢.
That is so cute! Thanks for sharing ❤, did you print it with a 0.4 nozzle on your FDM printer?
Yes I did ☺️
What app is this
Which 3d app did you use?
I use tinkercad :)
Can you make a bass guitar
I'll give this a try, but my other projects come first.
I totally understand. Feels like there are often more ideas than time to complete them
😊💜💖👍🥰
Oooo!!!! Can you do Cricut? That would be soooo cool!!!
That would be awesome! I don’t have a cricut machine yet but would love to try it out for miniature projects
This is how to 3d print a tiny type writer 🥲
