I can’t understand why they wouldn’t include this in the sub 12 model. They need to be watching your videos if they aren’t already 😏 Amazing work guys !!
It's due to regulations. Some countries are very strict about the sub 12 air guns and want anti tamper fitted. Having adjustments is also not allowed in those cases.
Great work as always. I have a ghost and the twang from the action is driving me crazy.would adding a delrin tip to the standard hammer quieten things down.not looking to adjust power.
I got a 177 Ghost HP a couple weeks ago and just found your channel. It's excellent! The PTFE washers for the hammer spring...is that your modification? My Ghost did not have them...What size are they? Won't adding these increase the compression of the spring? My rifle came with the HP2 spring which was "too much" in that it didn't have very much difference between Min and Max on the Power Wheel....eventually ended up with the LP spring to get decent adjustability with the Power Wheel.
The washers are a mod we did, they do increase spring tension a little but we changed the hammer spring anyway, the washers don't do so well with the stiffer springs delrin is better for them but for our sub 12lbft springs ptfe is fine 👍 thanks for watching the vids 👍
Follow up question...to have the "optimal setting" for a particular pellet...optimal being the smallest spread in velocities while minimizing air consumption for a shot...do I want the smallest hammer spring force thus a higher regulator pressure? Or more hammer spring force with a lower regulator pressure? Higher regulator should, I think, result in faster plenum recharge...and to get consistent hammer spring response...does it matter if the PW is set at Min vs Max or in-between? I emailed BRK asking for the "formula" for which hammer spring to use for a particular caliber and weight...since diabolos are most "stable" around 850-890 ft/s...don't be shocked, but I got no reply....
Great stuff, are the .177 pin probes available or are these a .25 cal turned down to fit. Be interesting to see if you can run a lower reg pressure to increase shot count are you doing anything to the barrel transfer port..
The action on these Ghosts are definitely a tad noisy. The delrin tip is something I'm thinking about doing too. How did you secure the delrin in the pip? Having never done one I'm wanting to avoid any pitfallls.
Just about to strip my ghost to make a delrin tip. I suppose if all I want is a quieter action then just a delrin insert in the factory hammer should do trick. I've just acquired a lathe but watching your videos has convinced me I need a mill too. As if I don't already bleed money on air guns as it is 😅
Very cool, excited to see what you keep building! Question for you, do you think a .22 FAC ghost can be modified to shoot at sub 5 ft-lbs and then quickly tuned up to shoot at something much more powerful. I’d like to be able to go back and forth for indoor/outdoor shooting. Currently using a Pathfinder with an Air Superiority Power Adjust fitted to it, but not very happy with it. Difficult to adjust and it makes the length of pull very awkward. Cheers!
What problem did you encounter in order to make this modification? And what are the things that can be modified in order to reach high speeds with a weight of 30 slug 22 caliber
Don’t think that’s something the guys can easily answer. All their work is sub 12 so slugs of that weight just wouldn’t be worth it ( might not even leave the barrel !)
Very interesting. Is the pellet probe replacement off the shelf or did you make it. Please sort the trigger next as it’s driving me mad. It really lets the hun down.
Hello! My name is Henri. Im looking for some advice....i have a very simple pcp hatsan flash 5.5 that installed a reg and a stiffer steam spring in exhaust valve....have a quite nice free fly play. Just like that yesterday i made 2 slow motions videos ...a hammer traveling bounce and a manometer pointer bounce, if you interested i can share both. I thinking in choose hammer spring shorter and stiffer to increase free fly and see if it has some improve. But the pointer bounce too much than expected vs hammer bounce...maybe the plenum is under necessary cc volume? If you have some advice how can a minimize this i ll be quite pleasant! Love you channel! Only amazing information!
Good work as always. I've got a barsteward of a Kalibrgun Capybara to sort out. I'll be extracting broken screws from the block, milling a new internal bolt lever and trialing a brass bushing on the bolt cocking pin... The thing is an absolute mess. I've not much engineering experience so relying on videos like this for some handy hints for when I attack it on Wednesday.
@@sub12airgunners that's putting it mildly, and thank you, I'm confident it'll be a good little rifle, I only wanted to see what could be done to make the cocking action less violent but opened a can of worms. Apparently we shoot at the same range so if you ever see a Capybara in the future chances are it's mine.
@@unlisted5150 if i see one i will be sure to say hello 😀 that's what happens to us, we start a little job and go down the rabbet hole and before we know it it's been in the mill on the lathe and it's been re made 😂😂
Hi mate, I see in one of the comments you say you do this for all of your rifles, so the question is do you take on projects in the business sense or is this just for your own guns ? Just asking as I would be interested in making a cheapy pcp better with this these type of adjustability mods. Thanks
black magic i tell you 🤣🤣🤣 how does a spinning tool cut an allen slot . man you show some awesome stuff mate 👌 very interesting is that to really fine tune the hammer as that wheel is a bit to course or the other way round and the wheel does not give you enough adjustment
Thanks Paul yes it does seem strange but it works a treat 😀 yes we will have a bit of adjustment on the hammer stroke, which may help when we start to muck about with springs and things 😀
Another very interesting video with some nice tidy machining to watch 👍. Can't believe you are slacking with the dovetail milling cutter ownership though!
haven't seen the hammer airtech do for the Ghost but the one we made is the same as the standard FAC hammer for the ghost, we just added a delrin tip like fx, DB and many others do on hammers 👍
Nicely made as normal - will be interesting to see what difference just changing the stroke will make. Really like that pin probe.
thanks Tim 😀😀
Another fascinating watch chaps ,keep up the good work

Really interesting and informative video thanks for sharing 👍🏻

I think BRK/Daystate should snap you up as a consultant and get their products sorted before they are released.
we do the same on all our guns, anything that is mass produced can be made better by a bit of hand finishing 👍😀
Great work as always. I have a ghost and the twang from the action is driving me crazy.would adding a delrin tip to the standard hammer quieten things down.not looking to adjust power.
that did help our one but we did change the hammer spring and did insulate the springs
@@sub12airgunners thanks for reply 👍
Sorry to be a pain. Could I ask one more question.how did you insulate the spring. Thanks 👍
@@alanclifton2251 we used delrin slip rings for the ends like washers just to stop metal to metal contact

what thickness delrin washer would you recommend? thanks!@@sub12airgunners
I just looked and Nylon washers seem to be more available in various sizes and thicknesses...any issue with using Nylon?

the pin probe is something we made 😀 we are playing with reg pressures ate the moment 😁
