Those you can use fast and effective, ProQ3 etc, Simple to use, where you don't have to work a week with before understanding what, what does. And come on, ditch those GUI's I think we all know how a Pultec sounds, right? Last I had a project, with several plugins, made them all smaller, my 27" 1440p screen could handle about 15 plugins, they could a lot better. I agree they look a lot better, but doesn't make the sound better.
Pulsar Smasher beyond a doubt. The linked input and outputs; if you want; are just killer. You can crush whatever you have it on and not change the overall level. It's a pure "attitude" compressor. I love it! All buttons in. That's exactly what it gives you.
Thanks so much Warren! I got this channel strip yesterday and I totally love it. It will be used a lot in my audio mixes, that's for sure. Now I have found another favorite besides my SSL 4000 E Channel Strip plugin. I am thrilled. These two plugins help me mix with my ears and not with my eyes. And I have noticed enormous personal progress for some time now. Happy producing and mixing everyone! :-)
This was an excellent demo/review Warren I'm glad that you included other engineers in different genres as well, to really give everyone a better idea of how this plug-in can be used and how it influences various mixes. I actually bought it myself
Thanks Warren!👍😉 I really like plugins from Waves. They are easy to use. They add that something to the sound and add extra flavour to the musical soup!🤩💪
Overall, I like the simplicity of the plug-in! The combo of the drive, EQ, and Comp give it some simple flexibility! I could see using this for some saturation and adding some clarity or body to an instrument! I like it! Thanks for going through this, Warren and friends! 😎🤙
Very easy and pretty powerfull! 👍 Waves are famous for the quallity of every plugin, they made! Thanks, Warren! I like the simplicity of the plugin. It is pretty useful for people, who prefer all-in-one plugins rather than chain and lots of separate windows of plugins here and there) I have some Waves plugins and my preferences are very close to yours - Scheps Omnichannel is incredible! MV2 - insane, RBass - amazing! And I appreciate that Waves give lots of gifts and discounts! 🙏 Hope Magma Tube Channel will become someones' favorite plugin! Like your contet and channel! Good Luck and Cheers! 🔥
I have the BB Tubes and I'm seriously thinking about getting this plugin. One of my issues is, will Waves next bring out something that does even more? I hate getting caught up in this buying spree. I much prefer to just properly learn how to use the plugins that I already have and the stock ones in Cubase 12 Pro are amazing. I'm not a plugin over buyer by any stretch and I like my money in my hands first. Glad you had other producers in here! Thanks!
This is more of a do less! Ha I love how it sounds, however the Omni Channel is the more detailed channel strip plug in. This is specifically for someone who just wants simple easy to use tools
The way Cubase is laid out it basically is the channel strip. It's actually easier NOT to use them in Cubase. Channel setting window is amazing. That said this plugin does really good.
Joe's segment with that delicious guitar is OFF THE HOOK! anyone feel like this channel is modeling or inspired by either a 610 or Helios? Seems to have some elements that look like both units. Cheers!
Cool video, as usual! I think the plugin is cool, but honestly a bit too much simplistic on EQ controls, also - since it's intended to deliver warmth through saturation - it lacks of a "tone" setting for the drive, to control where's applying the saturation and where the most of the harmonic distortion will happen. Finally, a "mix" knob would have been nice to have ;)
Yes, it’s a very simple plug in. I believe that’s it’s strength and also it’s weakness. The Scheps Omni Channel is still my favourite channel strip plug in
The BB Tubes has some sauce.................. When Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad tells me my snare is great ....................going to try out the channel strip
@@Producelikeapro I love Mark , known him for 33 years, Just bought the MTCS ..............put it on my drum bus will compare it .............thanks Warren.....👍
I know you use some Waves plugins, I have a handful of those. Are there any UAD plugins that are that much better than the Waves version, that makes it worth the $200-300 price tag?
I feel this is one of those one size fits all ‘betteriser’ plug ins. The Scheps Omni Channel of course is more feature packed and is a very well used plug in that many mixers use
It sounds alright but I always hate compressors without attack and release controls. All in all, I'd rather use the Lindell Channel X on a vocal than this plugin.
Raytown had a good video on this. It's going to be a pass from me for now. Not sure what this is "modelling" but the fact the EQ frequencies are not close to the actual listed number is concerning.
a saturator is like a clipper, it can prevent the peaks passing a certain level, thereby bringing the RMS level closer to the peak. This is reducing the dynamic range
What do you think are some of the most easy-to-use but versatile plugins? Please share below!
Pultec all day ❤

Waves Rvox and IK Multimedia’s Tascam collection tape emulators has the Tascam 388 which you can use like a channel strip
Scheps OmniChannel for sure!
Thats a great sounding plugin and for the money, it's a no-brainer. Thanks everyone for the great video

The drums seem a little too forward in the mix. The taming of the plugin helps this.

not my flavour using the transit on the snare - however regardless - the vocal was super cool and makes me really consider this Magma Tube Strip

I will have to do some major comparisons to be able to answer that honestly, I only like to speak from experience.
UAD makes some of the best emulations out there and many professionals use them in lieu of the hardware and getting great results
How can we get that addictive snare sample?
Should be in the multitracks
Silly question here. Why do I need a plug-in Channel Strip? My DAW already comes with Channel strips.
Please please please do a mix competition with this song.
