I believe (I could be wrong) that frank had a wife and daughter but the wife died from an illness and the daughter had got the same illness so frank threatened, you, whoever you are in the game, to take care of the daughter because she liked you or smth but you could take the pressure of being in the basement with her so you decided to off the daughter.
