Its crazy that this almost century old film does a better job of building serious amounts of tension in a single short scene then most of the action movies of modern day are capable of even with their 9-figure budgets!

the tension is real, because so is the danger, this is a real steam train, and a single mistake could've killed Buster Keaton

@@pegasBaO23 Even in today's psychological film there are dozens of stuntmen listed in end credits. Back then Buster was the actor, director AND the sole stuntman for his own role at the same time. It would be out of the question today for an actor to act in that scene, live and with no safety measures. Good times, bad times. Some actors are even prevented today by lawyers to ride a bike not to harm themselves.......

@@greg-warsaw4708 "Some actors are even prevented today by lawyers to ride a bike not to harm themselves" that feels a bit extreme, but I suppose there is a reason for the fact that on average actors tend to live well into their nineties and still preform

I remember seeing this clip on a CD-ROM encyclopedia and they replaced the track with 'Animals Went in Two By Two'.

The movie fell out of copyright at some point, but has been re-released a few times with different music.
The music on the later versions is still copyrighted.
Replacing the sound would mean they didn't have to pay to use the clip.

It's just a fake front of a train on a dolly being pushed by the crew though. Add some steam ports, watch your filming angles, and it looks real enough.

@@RobertMounceOnLinethis was not fake. This is real, they zoomed in and once they cut filming they ran off the tracks. Think you should do better research. This is not CGI like today’s shitty movies
