Hi Madi, no you don't play the notes in brackets, it is just a way of indicating the note is held and continues into the next bar of music, so the note in the bracket will always be the previous note played, for example 4 | (4). A lot of people don't bother using it, but I liked to use it when possible just to give some indication of how long to hold a note 😀
