Right on. You have that landing approach dialed, putting you right at the entrance of the fence, lol. Would installing the engine by yourself not be easier if you had the mounting bracket off of the frame, install the mounting bracket on the engine first, and then when holding the engine up, one single bolt slid in cross ways through the frame instantly allows the engine weight to partially hang.
I hate to say it but there's another youtuber I dare not mention their name but they use 2 step ladders and a plank of wood to hold the engine in place while the mounts are hooked back up. Also helps the teardown process... not recommended to hit the throttle at all during warm up lol. I'm not perfect at all but I remember stuff I read in the rotax manual from time to time lol.
So wait did you reuse that head and piston? It definitely willl affect the engine. The sharp edges can get hot and cause detonation. It'll most likely run great until it eats itself alive from pre ignition. If it were a weed wacker or a dirt bike id say rip it till it blows, but man you fly it like you stole it. You should 100% at very least replace the head and piston man. Please fly safe brother!!
Hey Mike get yourself some ratchet straps. Tie a piece of nylon cord around the motor. And a piece around the frame on the Quicksilver making sure you go under the Bell crank will they hook on it. Put the motor on the hook. Then take another ratchet strap and go around the frame at the top and the bottom of the motor, Start tightening the ratchet strap it will relieve the pressure off the hook. Once you undo that you can ratchet strap it into place. 😂 Speaking from experience I've done it recently.
Wow been looking at these videos on ultralights. Am considering getting into flying them. Very few recent video's to watch. I was hoping where to start with these little planes. What to look for, what to avoid. Hoping to start with something used while I work out what i want to build or buy. Long story still kinda long, thanks for the video.
Glad the engine is running so much better. As a matter of interest how do you refuel your plane? Syphon or pump and if Syphon how to you hold the jerry up?
Oh yeah......Sounds like lots of power. Great job 🙂
It sounds great. I'm glad you got it running and look forward to some more videos.
Fantastic to see her back together and sounding sweet!
Good work Yoder
Sweet SUCCESS!! LOVE IT!
Sounds great

What is your first reason you will not fly the day? Weather wise what do you look for? Wind or clouds? Anything specific?

What the engine use?
Go electric?
sorry to say but that engine on that way,
That's absolutely not how you do it!
