As someone who spends a great deal of time at the wildlife refuges of California's Central Valley, enjoying migratory ducks, geese, swans, and cranes, I appreciate what the Hautmans do. Their art helps fund these beautiful places.
Love this story! I have drawn ducks in pencil, but never painted one. I should. I've painted geese, hawks, ravens, owls and egrets and herons. I'm gonna paint myself a wood duck!
I am 62 years old and I have a stamp for every year. Sure wished I had gotten 2 so I could have started an album with one without my signature across the front. The ones I do have are stacked in a cigar box with all of my old licenses. But it is very enjoyable just to drag the box out from time to time and go through them all.
Bart Jerner WAS GOOD too. I had a whole series of his plates which I recently gave to my son Jeff. These brothers are excellent artists too and I am glad you shared this with me They are very good. THANKS LARRY
Duck stamps, trout stamps, hunting and fishing licenses plus all the excise taxes and fees on firearms, ammunition, certain fishing and hunting gear and motorboat fuel - that is what pays for conservation programs and habitat restoration in the US. How much money? For the year 2020, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service distributed a record $1.09 billion from excise taxes alone to state natural resources agencies through the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Programs. This doesn’t include the money each state collects from their own hunting and fishing license fees.
Are these guys on quaaludes? LoL I lived in Minnesota 9 long, miserable years and all the residents are a bit "off". This interview was right out of "Fargo" the movie, not the city. Will never understand their love and appreciation of painting these beautiful birds yet annihilating them at the same time.
*They eat the ducks, right?* And the money goes to keeping the hunted species from going extinct. Something we don't do with commercial fishing - they can just fish a species to extinction.
These are the stories I watch CBS Sunday morning for.
What? The boring one's?
@@lewstone5430 I’m sure you’re equally as talented and wealthy as these guys. Their art is amazing!
Yes! It’s Saturday and I’ve had an amazing day and this was the icing full of pixie dust. I love these pieces so much. Inspired and positive.
That was an amazing story. It put a 😊 on my face. Thank you!
Awesome story of 3 brothers that love to paint. Their work is beautiful.
What a lovely piece. Thank you

I love the Federal Duck Stamp prints as well as the ducks and all the birds! ❤️❤️❤️ These guys rock!
Such a good program. Birders purchase them because of all the good the stamps are.

One artist in a family being proficient and skillful - but three? Holy cow! That's just unbelievable!
*Too unbelievable. Too similar. Like taking a "Hautman style" into mass production.* Donchaknow?
These duck stamps are beautiful forms of art. I need to find where to buy these stamps.
What amazing talent‼️
Great story!
Great story
What a very talented family!

I am reminded of John Oliver’s segment about duck stamps.
Beautiful
Cool brothers
Nice; sort of modern John Jay Audubons.
Great video, but Loons are Loons; not ducks. In most jurisdictions it is not legal to hunt them.
5:16 Meet 2 singers who made Toto Coming up on Sunday Morning
What about ducks on a free range farm?
This is better, than the Red Wall.
It’s perfect for the trailer park crowd.
Watch Last Week Tonight’s terrific and hilarious report on duck stamps th-cam.com/video/bl-ABuxeWrE/w-d-xo.html
I was waiting for someone to mention this.
Is it me or have I seen this one before?
john Oliver tried to win this

They’re a bit ‘Forest Gumpish’.
Couldn’t meet nicer guys anywhere, and they became multi-millionaires doing what they love with their incredible talents. Kudos to them!
@@Coco100k I'm sure they are very nice :-)
