When fighting your enemy in the trenches, the difference between life and death doesn't rest on the strength or morality of ones ideology, but on luck, and the victor should respond with that in mind.

so I played the speech section of this event at 1/2 speed, typing as fast as i could. It took me a half hour to fix it up. I tried to hav my phone app record and transcribe it, but it didnt work. I couldnt type the names of the sailors with certainty, but heck i tried.
    Here it is:
    5:03 [Anthems]
This service is being conducted to honor Viktor Lokov, Ladema, Kuscisko, Valentine Nokachev, and three other unidentified Soviet submariners who perished in March of 1968 in the North pacific ocean, when their ship suffered a casualty of unknown origin. In a very real way, this ceremony has resulted from the continuing contentions between our two nations. Their casualty happened at a time when they were engaged in activities which they deemed to be in their national interests and protection. Their bodies have come into our possession some six years later, through activities on behalf of our country which we feel fit the same criteria. The fact that our nations have had disagreements does not lessen in any way our respect our them and the service they have rendered. So as we return their mortal remains to the deep, we do so in a way that we hope would have had meaning to them if posed with the As long as Men and Nations are are suspicious of each other, instruments of War will be constructed, and brave Men will die as these Men have died in the service of their country. Today we honor these six men, their shipmates, and all men who give their lives in patriotic service. May the day quickly come when men will beat their swords into plowshares, and spears into pruning hooks, and nation shall not rise up against nation. Neither shall there be war anymore.
We know neither the exact burial-at-sea ceremony of the Soviet Navy or the specific desires of what form a service these men might have desired. Accordingly, we have constructed a ceremony which we believe to be closest approaching the actual Soviet ceremony. Our intent is to preserve the meaning and symbolism of such a solemn occasion. In addition, United States Navy ceremony for burial of the dead at sea will follow.
"Eternal Father, we who go down to the Sea in ships are ever in search of a safe haven at the end of the journey. The officers and men of this ill-fated USSR submarine, pendant number 722, that we honor here to day, have reached their journey's end. To You we entrust them, that they may find peace and contentment in their repose."
    [Russian Names]
We therefore commit these crewmembers of this ship to a proper resting place to join the Valhalla of sea heroes who have gone before them. We commit their remains to the deep, looking for the resurrection of the body, when the Sea shall give up her dead, and the life of the World to come, Amen.
    [Russian speech]
"I am the resurrection and the Life", sayeth the Lord, "he that beliveth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live, who shall liveth and believeth in me shall have everlasting life.
    [Russky]
Let us pray, "O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered, accept our prayers on behalf of the souls of your departed servants, grant them an entrance into the Land of Light, and Joy in the fellowship into their Saints."
    [Russia]
At this time, please close the doors to the vault.
Unto Almighty God, we commend the souls of these departed Soviet Sailors, [music kicks in] and we commit their bodies to the sea, in the sure and certain hope of Resurrection on eternal life. Amen.
    [Russian]
May the Lord bless you and keep you, May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious onto you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace, Amen.
    (Rus)
    This concludes the ceremony.

Thank you! I had trouble understanding at some points and the automatic YT subtitles didn't work properly either. Thanks to you, I was able to understand the entire ceremony and I can admit without shame that my throat was still tight with emotion. If only all people on earth treated each other with such respect... It's a pity that we often only show respect to each other at a funeral. 😢

This video recording was classified until the end of the Cold War in 1991, when it was sent to the first, and only, democratically elected president in Russia's history, Boris Yeltsin. But that makes this funeral even more deserving of great respect in my eyes. No one was ever supposed to see this recording, no one was ever supposed to even know that this funeral took place. But it happened anyway, and with such unexpected respect. American sailors buried their rivals as their own. Or just like human beings.

This makes no sense as they were supposedly recovered from about 3 miles down after a few years of being there. It is impossible for this to be real as the body is crushed to the point of liquefaction.

@@That_R1_Rocketman Things only implode at depth if there is air still in them. If their flooded before they reach their crush depth and they'll retain their shape as there's no pressure differential . Look at Titanic's bow vs its stern. The bodies of whales end up on the ocean floor eventually and retain their shape (its also true with non aquatic animals as they've used pig carcass in experiments in the deep ocean). As for how the bodies still existed after six years they were sealed within the boat and from the limited testimonials were buried under debris within the hull itself.
