When you listen to Hampton and that band, you really have to wonder, where have all the musicians and real music gone. It was a privilege to be around in those times.
I remember having seen this on the Dutch television. It's coming from the Lionel Hampton All Star Big Band at the Northsea Jazz Festival in 1978. Love the solo of the great Arnett Cobb starting at 04:16. The tone of that master of the tenor is incredible. Check his high G at 05:18, it sounds like a horse! Pitty that the camera work is a bit chaotic during his solo! Thanks for posting, would love to see more!

Oh, man! I haven't seen anything that rockin' in a long time. The joy on Hampton's face is awesome. America did at least one thing right: jazz!
