- Day 1 of our epic road trip! It was a long & boring 15 hour drive so I decided to answer a lot of your questions about my new car! Why did I buy the AMG GTS?! Well...hopefully you'll know now!

I was a bit hesitant when you announced that this was the new car replacing the Lamborghini. But, I'll admit, this car is growing on me super fast and I'm not even the one driving it. The interior looks superb, especially for road trips. Not many cars in this class come with all the amenities the AMG has to offer. Can't wait to see more of this car on the road trip!
I have a suggestion for your camera position!
You should set it up right next to your head, on the glass roof, but set it in a way that we can see your face on the rear view mirror. This way instead of turning your head to the left to look at the camera, you can make eye contact with us through the rear view mirror with a simple movement of the eye and not the head.

No need to explain mate. The GTS is universally praised. Vault-like build quality, great noise from the V8, phenomenal handling, supercar performance, badass looks, and everyday useability. I'm jealous.
It was the best decision for sure. Even though you spend extra money for a GTS instead of going for the GT...Anyways...Like I said before this car has massive potential and it will easily destroy any stock Lamborghini Huracan or McLaren 570S after you upgraded the CPU. 650HP is no problem for this car and far as I know certain companies test it at 750hp right now. I would suggest you go with the AMG aero pack wich includes the firm rear spoiler and other parts. Add some carbon fibre to it and put a nice exhaust on it (I drove a Capristo GT-S and its INSANE!) and your good to go.

Paul, I feel like I have to address this as it is a significant change in your youtube channel. Your videos (especially this one) are incrediblely good with regards to the editing! It has certainly come a long way! Also I absolutely love the new car but with all of the modifications that you are on about doing to it please make sure that you don't over do it. ps: Have fun on the road trip!!! :)

Great improvement on quality both audio and video! Your journey to the AMG has given me a different viewpoint on AMG, especially the process you went through in eventually decided to purchase the car.

PLEASE do not put a crazy bodykit and gigantic spoiler on this thing. I think it is almost as beautiful as it can get right now. Maybe a sort of modest exhaust and spoiler. (like seen through glass)

Paul, im more than happy to tell you that your positivity and content aswell as the work put into this video shows me and im sure many others that you are truly interested in making quality videos. some may disagree but since you had gotten the lambo i felt your content get worse and worse. this brings you back up. and im happy to rewatch this video several times to take in everything. beautiful work man, you deserve it

Excellent choice! Is that Cardinal Red? If it is, you have the exact color, wheel and interior specs I selected. However, I bought a 2014 Audi V10 Plus with Ceramic brakes and upgraded exhaust instead. I hope you order with an upgraded sound system. Also, you should talk about the infotainment system which I am sure it is one of the selling point as well. Anyways, congrats! You just bought America driver's car of the year!

stage one ecu remap,full ipe exhaust system,a nice fixed wing and some other nice modifications will make this thing a proper,proper machine.
i do love how fuel efficient this v8 is though

+phantom2k10 It definately needs a fixed wing, that active wing looks like crap imo. (just like on the F-type, 911 carrera's, SLS, Aventador etcetc)

Speednote10 yeah i have to agree and that's why i have been saying from early that he should have got the edition one,but i didn't realise that the edition one and the gts have the exact same performance figures.the edition one is probably styled a bit more aggressively and has the nice fixed wing,but i trust that the modifications paul will do will really set this car apart.
Please don't ruin it with a horrendous fixed wing like Sam did on his F-Type.

Awesome, love the car, definitely much needed. Also your new viewing angles with the clouds and interior are spot on.
Great AMG car from the outside and inside. Looks awesome with the sun roof! Consider to mount the other "mini" camera behind the front seats looking forward out the front window (just like In the Chris Harris video) Then we are able to enjoy the cool dashboard and the view of the road ahead. Enjoy your trip.

i loved this car since the minute I saw it. congrats and hope you have many blessed miles with it. maybe if my channel grow and I become a well known youtuber I might also be buying my first supercar.
Tbh I think you made a good decision. I've driven a number of cars including the Lambo, Ferrari and this GT S (videos on my channel). But tbh the GT is stunning. A great super car + everyday car. Great specs without breaking the bank! Relatively speaking. Drive this in good health and be safe!

+102ndcar Nice thing about the R8 is that it's a proper manual, which makes me feel like Paul's actually driving a car. As exciting as a Lamborghini is from the outside, when he's inside the cockpit doing commentary, it's not fully exploiting the excitement of the car. I agree the early SOL episodes were better, particularly because less is more, and Paul had less technical gimmicks to rely on and so we saw how truly talented a vlogger he was(is).

we are taking about a sports car and not any entry level ones. atleast something close to super car. Audi RS6 is great but its kind of a normal car on road with great performance and a wagon like body.

Basically. The SLS is going so high up in value since he discontinuation of it and when they brought in the GTs
+UzzyFuzzyy I would say it is a supercar. The GTS is significantly faster than sls as seen on top gear when they compared lap times. It did a 1.17 faster than gtr. The only good thing about the sls was the gullwing doors and 6.2 litre v8.

Your reasoning in this decision was spot on, and car is amazing! Not just from the exterior, but look at that interior, wow, it's phenomenal! And it is very important how car looks inside cause that is what you look the most, and this is by far the best interior of the candidates. I love McLarens but their interiors are just empty and boring. Only Audi comes close to this, and 458 is also OK, others not even close.
Just buy a tesla and slam it :)

Bro take it to Posaidon in germany and let them install a 700HP stage II upgrade kit for the GTS. Arguably it's overkill but this way everybody who says that you picked the slow choice out of all the cars (Mclaren 570/650, Lamborghini Huracan, Ferrari 458 (488 GTB maybe even.) aside from the obvious reasons like mid-engine layout etc. Your way back should be fun. Here's a list of places where on a lucky day you can hit 300 km/h (yeah yt clickbait alert.).
-A31 Essen to Emden. Candle law, as flat as a dime and equipped with porous asphalt. Unfortunately, two-lane, sometimes crowding. Get up early so. Parallel to the A31, but less relaxed, the A1 from Osnabruck to Oldenburg runs.
-A24 / A19 from Berlin to Rostock. Great, with the exception of a pair of speed limits between.
-A5 From Karlsruhe to Basel. Almost no curves, but quite a lot of traffic. Ideal for beginners and zondeagochtend.
-A38 Of Gottingen to Leipzig. If the Nurburgring as Autobahn would be reborn, this would be it!
-A3 from Frankfurt to Bonn. Busy during the day but at night tempting. The entire process is three-lane!
-A62 From Landstuhl to Nonnweiler. Classic case for the creation of a 200 km / h speed limit.
-A81 From Weinsberg to Wurzburg. Here Porsche and AMG do many of their high-speed tests.
-A92 From Munich to Deggendorf. Hardcore motormoordend route through a boring landscape.
-A96 Landsberg to Bregenz. There are still missing pieces, but what is worth 10.
A9 from Nurnberg to Holledau. As spectacular as an empty airport. But very quickly and three lanes.

MidShipCivic I visit events where I get to drive 1000HP gt-rs etc. I have experienced quite a lot of powerful cars and I have to tell you for 2WD cars, unless you're a racing driver it's hard to handle anything more than ~600 HP. Not bragging in any way as my daily is currently a VW polo bluemotion, in no way a fast car haha, it's very comfy and economical though.

Please, America a 1000WHP not bhp WHEEL HORSEPOWER RWD is a common thing and non of them are ''professional racing drivers'' you don't need to be recognized by a league to be able to drive such a car.. It's knowing how to drive it.
Couldn't agree more with your view on the GTS why you chose the GTS. I too ordered one and to collection 5 months back. The build quality, features, sound, handling, performance, price point and practicality to be used as an everyday car make it unlike any other high performance supercar.
