Dragon ball was what really got me into anime and manga. Sad sad day indeed. R.I.P you made so many people happy Akira your legacy will live on. To hopefully bring joy to many many more.
This has Profoundly hit me, DragonBall has brought me peace and calm in some of the most deeply intense and tragic points of my life 😔 I think he sensed his time was near, and that's why he made Daima. We need to Rally and Move Forward with Faith, and Blow DragonBall up in his Honor!! Heroes are Forever, We will Carry your Legacy for Eternity Akirya! May God Bless You and your family! DragonBall Family Forever!
Akira Toriyama's work influenced my life. I learned to never give up, and to keep moving forward. It is a sad day that a legend has passed, but his memory will live on through his work. Thank you Akira Toriyama for the lives you have touched, you will be missed. An entire planet will never forget you, and we will pass on your lessons to the future generations in honour of your memory.
I feel you. I cried throughout this whole video. I was born in 81 and I didn't discover dragonball until 92 or 93 when I was over seas in Portugal visiting my family. It was the og dragonball first tournament saga. It honestly changed my life but I had to wait years before it came to the states. I didn't have a great childhood emotionally but I can remember all my dB and dbz times that change my life, like it has urs. Bless you and God rest the GOAT
Literally crying right now. I wouldn’t have expected to feel this way but here it is. I learned quite a bit from his manga/anime. Mostly the type of person i wanted to be.
Definitely a world favorite anime but to break the topic with something I think is wonderful. I decided to adopt my first pet who was a special needs rescue and my heart bleeds for the little boy I've never been happier or more anxious. Rest in Peace Akira you made our world just that little bit better that some of us orphans needed.
Rest In Peace, Toriyama San. The architect of my childhood. Your creations of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super has thoroughly perpetuated my growth in this game of life. Your fruits, your energy, it lives on forever and you will continue to serve as an eternal conduit for up and coming Anime creators. Our dear Doulie is a paragon of the impact you and your creations have had on all of us.
Rest in heaven Akira toriyama ive been watching this show ever since i was a little kid he used to come on tsunami the midnight run dragon Ball z it inspired me too
He taught me perseverance and to work hard, he taught me to use my anger as strength to keep going, he started my love for anime and I thank him for that because he taught me core values
I started watching dragonball when I was 10. Just like you i didn't know it was an anime back then. And that's when I met Goku, a person who is hardworking, kind soul, he loved all of his friends and they all loved him. I just loved him and Vegeta as a character and wanted to be strong and hardworking like them. In my early teens, when people my age were having boyfriends/girlfriends i still believed i could become a Super Saiyan. Fast forward 14 years later, the tragic news of the writer passing away. I was left in shock. A person whom ive never met, who doesn't even know i exist, the news of his death has brought tears to my eyes and pain in my heart. What i'm tryna say is the last 14 years, my character develop around Goku and Vegeta. I was so sad by the news of him passing away. I just wept yesterday. But im glad to have this platform where i can share my experience with you and anyone who is reading this. Now my childhood has ended and I will never forget the impact of one man's work left in me. May you rest in eternal peace and may God take care of your loved ones that you left behind. Thank You Akira Toriyama sensei. You made my childhood awesome!
you're not the only one Doulie, his death really hit me hard this man made my childhood really fun and influenced me with his work, never realized what he meant until yesterday rest in peace sir
Akira Toriyama, Stan Lee, Jason David Frank, Michael Jackson, all of these legendary famous names..... Are gone..... Gone, but not forgotten.... For what these people inspired us with, we have to remember what they tot us, inspired us to be, and what we've enjoyed and have a passion for.
Dragonball was one of the first anime shows I saw when I was a kid in the 1990s. I remember being in awe watching it on TV while sitting on my dad’s back as he did push-ups in our living room. Gosh my eyes are watering just remembering that. Always keep training and improving yourself. Don’t give up. Much love from Texas.
RIP Akira Toriyama. Your creation of Dragon Ball series has taught and given me the drive to never give up and always push pass my limit to become the best version of myself. Thank for making such a big impact in my life.❤
Man we lost a legend in the Anime 🌎. He was the Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, & Wayne Gretzky name to us in this industry. I can't even process it yet because I have been waiting for him to make a stand alone story about my favorite character Prince Vegeta. May your soul rest with Kami
I can still remember watching some of the first episodes at a friends house when I was just a kid on Toonami. I never missed a new episode after. Today I am 33 and I have watched and learned so much from the story of Dragon Ball. RIP Akira! Thank you! Your story has influenced everyone and taught us so much!
Until we meet again! Godfather of modern anime! Ty so much for ur presence in my life, and the inspiration you've given it. And for in a sense, being a father to us all. Domo arigatto otto-san!
Everyone, he wouldn't want us to be sad. He would want us to do one final thing in his honor. Say it with me, everyone. Kamehameha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Ps in his honor I will forever love dragon ball. Z dragon ball showill dragon ball show. Because that is my respect and honor to the creator of my favorite series. He will be missed.
Dragonball helped me escape the traumas and darkness in my childhood. Very big reason why those incidents didn’t create too deep of a wound. I was just excited for when my favorite anime came on tv. Then talk about the new episodes every Monday with friends at school. It’s tatted on my dominant arm because I love having a constant reminder of it. On the outside goku on the inside shenron. More than just a fighter and a wish granting dragon to me. Rip Toriyama sensei
Its truly amazing how many lives hes touched an changed with his astounding work from story telling animation martial arts a staggering amount of contributions you live on through it all and the lessons you taught us r.i.p
I love dragon ball and i love one piece even more, but without Akira Sensei we wouldn't have had dragon ball and one piece certainly would not be the same so i love that man and really sad that he is no more but well, even if he is gone he has left a large good mark on our heart. I thank him fir his contribution to this world. Thank you Akira Sensei. R.I.P
To me, one of the most emotional connection to toriyama's work, was , as a kid, having grown up alongside goku. I got to first watch dragon ball in mexico, back in 93, i was 6 at the time. i watched the series as it came out, so the later seasons werent available yet. so I usually had to wait anywhere from 3 to 6 months for each new season to come out. so i watched dragon ball from 93 to 2000, so as i aged goku aged as well. I got to see each characters introduction since dragon ball. and i remember each time goku would part ways with his group of friends, i would feel a sense of sadness and nostalgia and worry about where goku was heading. growing up, i was a huge fan of dragon ball. I would constantly think about the series, and i would constantly draw the characters. and i would get any merch i could get my hands on. toriyama really influenced my life with his creations.
R.I.P. 🙏 I've been an anime fan since the mid 80's. Goku by far was the best roll modle to never give up. Every battle Goku went into as the underdog. He even got stronger from losing as long as he still lived. That was a powerful life lesson. ❤
I was a little to old for DBZ when it hit in the US, but my first video game obsession was Dragon Warrior. Nintendo Power Magazine gave free copies and i'd never played anything like it. I was hooked for life. DW4 is still one of the best video game experiences i've ever had, and it might sound corny, but DW7 pulled me back from the brink of suicide. Now that i'm older and have children i've learned to appreciate his other works while watching them with my kids. (I might be the freak in the room that prefers the original to Z though) Thank you Mr. Toriyama.
Dragonball made me grab a pencil again and draw till my hands hurt, i was 12 yo when i got reinspired to draw db caracters, i remenber drawing them again, and again, and again till i saw that they were "close" to the show, 27 years later i still draw them but this time with my love, and my own style, i treat each and every db caracter as if they were my own babies/creations, i feel like i lost a long time freind or brother that i never had even though i never met the men or even live close to him, i literally live across the planet, oh what a loss :(
I really get what you told and completely resonate. Now I have regret that I just watched the anime but didn't purchase the manga. Is there anything that I can do now to support Akira Toriyama? Like purchasing Manga from official store or something?
As a small 10 year old boy from Haiti. I stood strong in every battle because of Goku because of Akira toriyama. No matter how old or bigger my opponent was I stood strong. I lost some and I most definitely won some and I had Goku to thk for that 🙏🏿😤 never give up 💪🏿🦈

I’m just trying to live the turtle hermit way. It’s not always so easy as Roshi made it out to be
