    Brompton should produce a video that introduces the new features of this long-expected light-weight model instead of leaving everything to the viewer's imagination. This will convince more prospective customers to reach a firm decision.

    • @tortinwall
      @tortinwall 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Why? No car advert ever bothers telling you about the features.

      @@tortinwall Some ads just create an awareness of the product; some others make more effort to educate the consumer, and the latter kind appeals more to me personally as a marketing man and I respond to them more favorably. The latest video from Brompton on their new P Line does not distinguish that new model from any previous models so I deemed it inadequate.

    I own a 6 speed 2018 Black edition and took the P Line for a ride. It performs well despite having only 4 gears compared to my 6.
    In its favour without doubt is its lighter frame making it easier to carry for longer periods.
    After a while the Black Edition is noticeably heavier carrying it using the same arm to lift it.
    So, unless you want more gears, and the weight is not an issue, the Blac Edition is superior for its gears
    For flat cities, the P Line is more than enough.
    As for advertising the ones version, Brompton know full well what they are doing.
    They have been around for some time now and if you know a few things about this bike you will be aware of its popularity and demand which Brompton cannot meet especially with the Ti version.
    I am currently awaiting a P Line which I have been informed will not arrive to me in Europe until January.
    Sources in The US tell me that there is high demand for the bikes in various colours as well.
    I guess the ( pending ) move to Ashford in Kent will see a larger installation meaning Brompton will be able to eventually meet demand.
    Where they may or may not come unstuck is with finding enough titanium to meet demand.
    Sheffield, I hear is where they will most probably manufacture the Ti.

    The PLINE is amazing. Let me tell you after riding a 33lb bike for 3 years. I feel like I'm floating on the Pline. I can accelerate over 20mph on it without hardly trying.

    After two months of owning the p Line i can say it is way smoother than my 6 speed Black edition from 2018. And faster as well however, i WISH i had those two extra gears at times for speed as i like to race myself!
    Well worth investing in and not a necessity to have a T Line version.
    I tried a demo and also the P Line demo before getting it and the weight is the only factor that would convince me to part with that much more money.
    Having two bikes now, I don’t need a Titanium version.
    Besides, where I am, It’s flat without hills or elevated areas.

      So about those two missing gears-are those lower, or higher gears that are missing? Or do the four gears give the same range, but just bigger gaps between? You mentioned speed, so you spin out when going downhill or faster?

    • @richmck007
      @richmck007 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@morningtidefilms i found that i dont miss the two higher gears as i live in a relatively flat area and racing is my thing with the 6 speed it is heavier and i notice it when I ride fast up hilly areas of my town. The best aspect of the T line is its lightness and I dont need to part with so much money to get one. If you have the money and you fold and carry a Brompton, it is an excellent buy! But the P line will do just fine I believe.

    I wonder if this will flex more, is the M6 better for touring. Gut feeling is ditching the derailleur and having all gears in the hub is overall superior, even if the two different gearing systems offer some redundancy when far away from home...

    Makes zero sense. I have the SL6 and glad I bought it when I did. Why at least did you not offer both 6 and 4spd?
    Really strange marketing decision - also, where does you CHPT3 sit now in the line up when it is your ultimate bike as the most expensive. Are you going to reduce it to 4spd when they can’t do as fast?
    I mean - on the flat or downhill in my SL6 I have the the gearing to fly by. And on steep hills can rack down lower - and then fly by when they have to walk up.
    Also - in commuting mode it is going to be quite funny to watch those on “performance” bikes realise that at traffic lights they are are in the wrong gear and can’t anything about so will have to be careful of the new fear selection when starting off, while those with a 3 or S6 spd can just select and take off.
    Just a plain weird decision - perhaps should be rebranded and the “P Minus” range by comparison to the SL range 😂
