Poison types are known to be kind of the middle-of-the-road type in Pokemon. With that said, what if we got access to the full spectrum of Poison encounters in Pokemon Black 2, could they beat the game's hardest challenge - a hardcore nuzlocke with only Poison types?

We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon Black 2 Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Poison types? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a PokÃĐmon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific PokÃĐmon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line PokÃĐmon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific PokÃĐmon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional PokÃĐmon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party PokÃĐmon levels are limited to the highest level PokÃĐmon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your PokÃĐmon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing PokÃĐmon, Items, etc.

Weezing coming back was a highlight of BW2, love that chap. Only a pity there's little native Unovan poison-types. I feel a chap like Solosis could've made a fun dual-type if it was more toxin/virus themed.
There's fan game called Pokemon Z (legends ZA before legends ZA) that has a solosis reginonal line based on alchemy that's poison/psychic
i get so excited whenever you do poison nuzlocke runs or team builds in general because its one of my favorite types and Ive been such a big fan of this channel for the longest time

Nice to see a non-challenge mode bw2 video. Idk how well known it is but challenge mode actually makes the game a bit easier outside of a few fights (Namely Cheren. He's pretty brutal as a first gym leader without the extra mon this run would literally be impossible if he had the Pidove lol). Sure it adds at least 1 mon to the teams of major battles and updates some movesets and gives them perfect IVs, but it also increases the level caps and there's a bug in the code that the mons with increased levels don't actually have their stats increased to match the level they were raised to, basically making it just a cosmetic level increase. I'm sure it's pretty old news by now, given it's been a few years since this was found out (Think FlygonHG figured it out?), but there is a fanmade patch that adjusts the stats properly as well.
I think most Nuzlockers will agree that Crobat is often the MvP of a ton of teams, just that silent and powerful support that pulls through when you need them to. The other Pokemon of note that I can swear by just from watching TFS' Emerald run is Swalot, their's name My-Ex was stunningly bulky and ended up carrying several times

I hate how generally weak poison types are outside of a few niches or specific outliers. Poison and Bug type are my favorite, and they both suffer being weak.
