  • Ian reviews the Lost Rocket Redux surfboard: www.boardshop....
    The Lost Rocket Redux surfboard is a lot of fun and is going to attract a broad church of surfers of differing abilities and styles.
    The original Rocket was an accidental discovery born from a broken blank and Shane Beschen's desire to create a rip-stick for his freakishly capable son Noah. The board was finished and of course Shane had to give it a blast. To say he was impressed is an understatement, he took the board back to Mayhem HQ for some refinements and yet another 'happy accident', magic surfboard was introduced to the Lost line-up.
    "As we started fine tuning and building them for the boys, we knew were had something special. Fast forward a year, and the 2009 video release of “5’5 Redux”. The Rocket was a star of the show, ridden by a parade of guest rippers cutting loose on the little weapon. From Bros to Pros, The Rocket was soon a global hit, being enjoyed by surfers of all shapes, sizes and skill sets. Now, more than a decade after its initial release, the Rocket returns. A re-incarnated Redux for the new generation to enjoy another run of fun… The Rocket Redux." - Matt Biolos.
    The Rocket Redux ridden in the longer lengths is going to make a really usable board for those newer to shortboarding, taking advantage of it's low entry rocker and generous outline. In the shorter lengths the intermediate and advanced riders are going to love the RR with its exaggerated tail curve and signature 'hooked' diamond Rocket tail designed to bite when surfing from the back foot. The low entry rocker accelerates the board down the line and the "hyper extended" tail curve delivers precise turning in average to good conditions and will illuminate those average days at your local beach break. Thigh to chest high would be the Rocket Redux's happy place but the RR's ability in larger surf was well documented in the Lost movie 5’5" Redux.
    The all new Rocket Redux definitely stays true to the original Rocket but has been primed for a serious performance boost with some key refinements; refined rail curves and cleaned up rail lines add extra horsepower to this Rocket Redux.
    Boardshop is stoked to be a key partner for Lost surfboards across Europe and beyond. The staff here have surfed pretty much every board in the range at some time or another and we speak to surfers from all over the world and get their feedback on how the boards perform in all sorts of conditions so we're well placed to talk about all aspects of Lost surfboards. We're happy to consider trading in your old board against a new board, so If you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to info@boardshop.co.uk or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250.

    This completes my Rocket collection - OG Rocket, V 2, V 3, V 3 Stealth, & even the Motivator (Rocket Groveler) & Now the Rocket Redux, so far this boat has like all the others performed beyond expectations, especially catching waves..I feel like I can them with tremendous ease given the liters ECT - Pretty tight turns & relative ease building speed

      Just a question how does this board compare to the V 3 Stealth? That is my fav board at the moment and wondering if Rocket Redux is a step up or down to that one?

    Nice review! It's so helpful to have a detailed description of the surfboards like this.
    As another used commented, I also would like to know the main differences between this board and the Quiver Killer (which one lets you get in earlier, best wave size and type to ride, performing in turns,…)
    Many thanks!

    Looks very similar to the HP Puddle Jumper...Any major differences?

      Look at the daily driver range video they have. He explains a more performance orientated tail and rocker in the HP.

    Would this replace a puddle jumper you recon?

    • @BoardshopUK
      @BoardshopUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Replace, no. Is it a good board to progress from the PJ with more performance yes, but the PJ is a better groveller for real small waves.
