  • Crystal clear water and all the scallops you can dream of? Sounds like the perfect motivation to get in the water, even though winter is closing in here in Norway. Getting my first ling on the spear was a nice bonus! Hitra never disappoints:)

      Takk! Bruker sånn gopro headstrap. Hadde den under hetten før, men ble for mye press, så har an nå over hetta, men hekta rundt masken:) Daniel Mann har en video som viser det ganske greit tror jeg!

    Absolute dream! Is there a chance that summer water conditions are also that clear in Norway?

    • @AkselOrstavik
      @AkselOrstavik  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely not, but in certain areas like here you could still get 10 meter viz! But now during winter it’s mind blowing, today I could see the bottom at 25 meters

      @@AkselOrstavik Yea, you had some nice conditions. We're experiencing 2m-3m swells right now; I haven't been able to dive this entire month.

    That looks absolutely amazing!
    I guess you use opencell wetsuits - how thick is the one you're using during the winter months, and for how long are you able to stay in the water (relatively) comfortable?

    • @AkselOrstavik
      @AkselOrstavik  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I use a 7mm open cell all year around, but during winter I have a vest underneath:) I'd say that two hours is totally doable when you're in some movement! You could stay another two if you're swimming a lot and focusing a bit on staying warm

    Fantastic, and lange too, do You know around Bergen where can meet some scallops?

    • @AkselOrstavik
      @AkselOrstavik  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure. Would go for a place with a little bit of current, with sand. Google maps and satellite photo is a blessing;) would avoid places like fosnstraumen and Rognsundet as they are popular spots that’s already been picked quite a lot:)

      @@AkselOrstavik only when ice fishing😂. Im not that crazy. But to be fair the water is really clear in the winter in some lakes but the baltic sea is not too clear ever
