I bet taking that picture made your father's day. I am sure he is so proud of the man you are. Seeing those young men look up to you and the message you have helped spread is something special.
All the top comments are about what kind of truck. I was thinking how cool it was that you went out of the country and first day ran into some fishing freaks that follow you. How cool is that to be recognized no matter where you go. Have a great trip!
Enjoy every minute fishing with your dad. A person can learn a lot about life by watching your dad and fishing with your dad. Looks like a beautiful place.
You l be smallies and Canada. I love your channel and the awesome relationship you and your dad have! Makes me wish I still had my dad and, he has been gone 9 years this August. Justin you are truly blessed, both parents, OSG and Emery on her way. Love ya keep making every cast count!
Hey LFG what great time you had with your father on Fathers Day . Does it get any better. Next year two Fathers on the boat ... great video thank you Craig Pa. guy
Ford F-150, I drive my dad's old one from 2003 still going strong, my Dad drove a 2013 King Ranch we got a good deal on for a few years and loved it until we got in a wreck and it was totalled. He now has a 2017 and we love that one too!! On our third one now and we've had good experiences with all of them! If you like Toyota the Tundra is a great truck as well
I am a Chevy guy and drive a Silverado, so I will always recommend the Silverado. But the newer Tundras with the 8-ft beds are nice too and will hold the Hobie well
Chevrolet I highly recommend them I have used them all my life and for generations of my family I highly trust them. My truck- 2006 duramax dually 4x4 I love it I'm a welder so having the portable welder is great
Either the new Tundra (Texas edition of course) or the Ram Eco-Diesel. My Father-in-law has the Eco-Diesel and it's great. 26mpg towing a 22ft bay Scout from South Carolina to Marathon, FL. Looks like you guys had a blast. I got a new spinning combo and a certificate for a guided striper trip for Father's day, so I was a happy man.
I don't know anything about pickups. I do know that every fisherman/woman should go fishing in Canada at least once in their life. It is truly a unique experience. To do it with your father is extra special.
Justin Happy Father To Be Day!!! Aren't you glad you are sponsored by Favorite? Sorry Buddy but $289.00 for a rod, that's like my fishing limit for 2 - 3 years! lol LFD, Happy Fathers Day! I bet this one is a little more special to you especially after Willis. Get yourself a Tundra. Can't go wrong with one of them! Hope you guys had a GREAT time. God Bless! ✝
Ford Raptor. Only company not to get bailed out in the crash of ‘08. I’ll never get anything other than a Ford. Happy Father’s Day LFD and now you too LFG.
Thanks. I just bought a 7' spinning rod. I wanted to see if I could finesse fish with it successfully. Also, its cool to see father son fishing. Something I think every father should take advantage of.
Hey LFG, The new Titans have a 5 year 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty, the XD model is better equipped for towing and hs a pretty long bed. It's the best warranty for a truck in the country as of this time. Also comes in an available diesel option. i'm A mechanic for a Nissan Dealer. Not a sales person lol. they have very little mechanical issues, the 5.7l v8 is the same as the previous model, just with an updated intake system with better filtration. The diesel option is a 5.0l 8 cylinder turbo engine. that was originally used in Greyhound buses. Then recently adapted to the Titan with a new turbo and intake system. it is a great value and comes standard with a lot of features you tend to need to buy an options vehicle to get at all.
I'll give it to you, Favorite makes some nice looking stuff, and I imagine it performs well. It's difficult to justify spending almost $300 dollars on a rod though. Which is a shame, because I can really appreciate what Favorite does for the Googan Squad and the effect that both of them are having on the fishing industry. Anyway, cool vid LFG! A long trip up north for smallmouth, walleye, pike and muskie is definitely on my bucket list.
Justin, first and fore most, happy father's day to you and LFD. Second, I am a car salesman. I sold GM for 7 years, and for the last 6+years been with Ford. They didn't take the bail out money, and no other engine can compare to our ecoboost! My personal and professional opinion of course. Also, you get what you pay for and what I mean by that is the Dodges are decent trucks, however they are cheaply made. That's why they are the "best deal" as some would say. You can't spend 10k less and get equal value! It's like comparing a bass tracker to a Skeeter.... Just not the same. (Oh now you get it with that refference haha) also, great news about babby boy LFG. I have 3 daughters, and can't wait for grandsons!. If you ever make it out to Oregon, look me up. I'll show you a good time.
I will try to make this quick but I have to explain my bias. I have a 2016 Tundra (2x2). Good truck. Looks amazing, and I am confident that because it's a Toyota, it will last me a long time, which is why I bought it. My husband is currently in a 2016 Ford F150. He has also had a few F250's (diesel and gas....all great trucks). His 2016 Ford F150 (gas) 4X4 , V6 has got more torque and horse power than my Tundra V8 (small block). But there is also a BIG day to day difference. The F150 rides so smooth.... I bounce around in my tundra. It has WAY MORE options than my Tundra (we both got the middle of the road packages on said trucks). The middle of the road on a Tundra is a FAR cry from the F150. Just little things, but they add up in a hurry. When I compare them to all that my Tundra doesn't have, it makes me wish I had went for a Ford instead. Oh and also, my Tundra gets 14mpg in town and 16 on the highway. My husband gets 19 in town and 21 on the highway (even pulling the 19' Champion). Hope that helps. Tundra is a good truck. But Ford is a great one!
LFG - tell LFD a GMC Canyon or Colorado 4dr with a long bed and a diesel would be great for kayaks and traveling. Plenty of torque to handle loading it up with a kayak and gear. 8000+lb towing capacity and averaging over 30mpg on the highway. Seems very good for what he would need it for. I’m looking at one myself.
My family goes to an area that looks identical to the area you are fishing about 3 hours north of Toronto on the shore of Lake Huron. Stunningly Beautiful! Love those smallies!!
I live in mid Florida, and i love fighting and catching Pike.. We have a chain of lakes here in Citrus County Florida, and there are a lot of big bass and some big Pike in these lakes.. My PB large mouth out of them is 12lbs 3oz...
Right now it is the perfect time to buy a pickup truck the new model years are starting to hit the lots and the 18's are being discounted majorly..... I am a Mopar man through and through and they have some nice trucks.... Since your dad has had extreme reliability in his Titan I would say look at another one of those. All the trucks these days are really close to one another in reliability and durability.
North Western Ontario has a lot more to offer, Fort Frances is just the beginning, Drive another 3 hours and fish Lac Seul. Sioux Lookout is a gorgeous little fishing town. LFG look into it. All these little Northwest towns are unique, and have something different to offer. I feel like your limiting yourself to one place.
Tons of 90s fords still out there. Tons of square body chebbies still out there. Only old dodge you see rolling around is those 12valves. Ram doesn't make a 200k 10 year old truck. It's a 3 year old then have it crushed truck at absolute best. Nissan and Toyota make great 1/2 ton trucks too.
ford f-250 i haul my hobie pa 14 easily plus a native watercraft titan 12 on the top and hauls them both like a beast have drove over 15 hours with both of them on and had no problems
If I remember right, you'll get the best towing capability out of a F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost V6. Longest bed you can get with that engine is a 6 1/2 though. Well that's if you're getting a super crew or a super cab.
My set up is a Toyota Tundra crew max and a 12 ft Native watercraft Manta Ray angler propel kayak. I put it in the truck bed and use a Boon Dox bed extender and all works GREAT with plenty of room for other gear. Great vid LFG and LFD way to get after it right from the beginning of the trip.
At 4:20 those small wild flowers are Indian Paintbrushes we have them crazy up here in northern New England as well. He should check out the new Titan with the 5.0 Cummins!
Another awesome vid man, can't wait to see more As far as trucks go, im an automotive professional, and I think there is a lot of variables to consider. We're also one of the only shops that still rebuilds rear diffs, its a dying art. We don't have the best bass fishing in OK, (Texas is better...) but if y'all ever want to do some bushcraft camping then lmk. I have areas already built or set aside lol
I have a favorite jackhammer .... The best spinning setup I will ever own. Can feel everything and it's sooooo light. .... LFD go ahead and drop the cash grab a GMC Sierra.
I don't know but you need to sell Rob this truck he will make it awesome...lol Man I love watching you guy's catch those smallmouth but it would be better if I was there with you catching them...Go LFD !!!
Please inform LFD wait until next year so all of the big 3 have all their new models available. Ford F-250 is next year. Although Dodge and GM have new 1500's, their 2500 models are 3qtr 2019. If still wishes to buy, Dodge has some great deals.
LFD would be crazy to buy anything other than a ford. Half ton or 3/4 ton can’t go wrong with a ford. That new f150 platinum with the small power stroke would be minty 👌🏻🦅👍🏻
I bet taking that picture made your father's day. I am sure he is so proud of the man you are. Seeing those young men look up to you and the message you have helped spread is something special.

That flower near the beginning with the purplish flower buds is called orange hawkweed. They look nice, but will spread more than dandelions.

buy the 2019 Ram, sooo nice

Fishing looks great so jealous wished I could do stuff like that. I go an catch a lot of bream at some small 15 acre lakes that I stock up my freezer
Lfg love the vids you should go pike and walleye fishing! Caught a 30 inch pike yesterday on a bluegill and caught some nice walleye!:)
We caught everything on this trip. Lots of vids coming this week! Fishing is good up there
Great Video Congrats, Success *Fishing!* 👍🎣🐠
Not the biggest dodge fan but the new 2019 laramie longhorn has definitely caught my eye.
He needs a Chevy k10 1986. All redone and a very beautiful red paint job! With a LFG decal on the back

and they both are heavy units especially with all my big rods and heavy weights for flippin that texas grass
Your favorite rod series are excellent, but pricey. Any chance you can make a jackhammer combo for us budget minded dad's? Much love and tight lines!
chevy silverado 1500 LTZ if you want some fancy interior. LT if you want a nice functional fishing rig. hands down one of the best half tons there is!
If I remember right, you'll get the best towing capability out of a F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost V6. Longest bed you can get with that engine is a 6 1/2 though. Well that's if you're getting a super crew or a super cab.

We are a bass fishing family and we have a Tundra and it pulls and drives the best!!!!
you should try throwing an unpegged t-rig with a little craw. it works better for smallmouth than you would think.
At 4:20 those small wild flowers are Indian Paintbrushes we have them crazy up here in northern New England as well. He should check out the new Titan with the 5.0 Cummins!
Another awesome vid man, can't wait to see more
As far as trucks go, im an automotive professional, and I think there is a lot of variables to consider. Im going to assume you don't want to deal with a diesel, especially given all the new regulations, sensors, DEF, etc. As far as gas motors go, you gotta figure out what POWERTRAIN ticks all the right boxes for your personal use. Think of it like this, if you're going into uncharted territory in a harsh climate, you're not reaching for a shakespeare with a digital reel, right?
Do not buy anything from FCA. I make more money off fixing their vehicles than any Euro luxury models. They are a constant failure. Toyotas can be great trucks - good gas mileage, comfortable - but they were not developed to be work trucks. Some of their trucks will go 200k with no problems, but most will require repairs, especially electrical/sensor repairs. Ford has improved their designs over the past few years, but they're falling into the same trap as many Japanese motors; too much technology. Single or dual overhead cam engines mean higher efficiency (mpg per cubic inch, torque curves), however more moving parts means more opportunity for failure. Things like VVT solenoids, cam/crank sensors, are always an issue. You gotta K.I.S.S. it.
To do that, you go with the most reliable, most mass-produced engines of ALL time: the GM small block. It's an overhead valve engine, meaning more compact, and most importantly less parts connected to the timing chain (cylinder heads, chain tensioners, sprockets), as well as much better lubrication throughout the entire block, which means less wear and tear on the powertrain. I saw in the video that y'all were happy about the Titan reaching 200k, and I am impressed myself since not many reach that milestone. Usually either their DOHC design or the all aluminum block fail before it can get there.
Anyways, my opinions aside, if you're ever passing through Oklahoma I will be more than happy to make my shop available to get y'all back on the road. Just lmk and I'll open the doors.
GMC 1500/2500 Denali, Chevy Silverado 1500/2500 best truck money can buy and it’s got a nice step on the back bumper
Hey Justin: Welcome again to Canada. Come often; stay as long as you like. Hey, are those tubes 3.5"? goby color? (if not, what size and color?)
Love the Canada series vids
Happy Father's day to the both of you. 2006 or newer Ford F150 or F-250 supper duty.
I live in Wisconsin so it was funny for me to watch you handle the pike. Lol great video❤️
Question summer time fishing Missouri what do you recommend Sanko has been working best for me but I like to power fish what do you recommend
That rod combo is sick. I'm sure it is, but is it ambidextrous? Would be great for bass and saltwater spec & red fishing.
Black GMC Denali those are super clean!👌💯
Happy Father's Day to you and your father!
Canada is full of us fishing freaks pal!
nothing like spending time fishing with the old man
Duramax, LFD will love it.
Eco boost Ford F-150s are great trucks with a ton of power!
Flower may Indian Paintbrush. .t is a native wildflower that also comes back quick in burned out areas.

Please inform LFD wait until next year so all of the big 3 have all their new models available. Ford F-250 is next year. Although Dodge and GM have new 1500's, their 2500 models are 3qtr 2019. If still wishes to buy, Dodge has some great deals.
LFD needs a Chevy Truck for sure. Love you man I must say you are a funny man at times Justin. Have a great day. God Bless!!!
If he loves his Titan have him get a new one! Great trucks
LFD would be crazy to buy anything other than a ford. Half ton or 3/4 ton can’t go wrong with a ford. That new f150 platinum with the small power stroke would be minty 👌🏻🦅👍🏻
