I'm 99% sure the artist traces or uses a grid beforehand. You just can't see the lines on the paper as they are done very lightly so it doesn't show up on camera. It's a common trick that many youtubers use to make it appear like they draw freehand. Every drawing this artist does is pretty much identical to the reference photo and they never use an eraser to correct mistakes. It's pretty obvious to me that it's not done freehand.
