While nothing has been fully confirmed on lag switching, there are people that have had this exact same thing happen. My guess is that it's just the servers, they've gotten significantly worse this season.
It’s not the anti cheat. It’s most likely the engine (I’m not too up to date on Apex’s version of source but it was the main problem with CS:GO) There is really no better way to ban cheaters than what they’re currently doing besides using a very invasive krnl level anti cheat like what Riot does. There is literally 0 way to ban cheaters permanently due to how absurdly easy it is to just spoof your HWID as soon as you get banned and be back to cheating within mere MINUTES. I really dislike it when people who have no idea how anti cheats/cheats work complain about how bad EAC is, when in reality it’s one of the best.
@@HappyMisfit yeah it was more of a rant on the fact that people blame the wrong thing. All things considered, apex probabaly has the best EAC anti cheat flags atm, the cheating problem is all cat and mouse at the end of the day though, which is why they’ll never be able to completely “fix” it
I swear there is some kind of hack that slows down / laggs the server when you get close to the hacker. There have been times when my game is going smooth but laggs heavy at random intervals almost like someone is doing it.

devs like hideouts are getting paid 10s of thousands of dollars and this is what they have done for the game, they need to get fired
Not really a "Dark Truth" it's something that occurs in every game because there is an enormous market for cheats and there always will be.

Question, is lag switching in apex still a thing? I fought a few times an once i shot at someone my game started lagging like crazy until they died.

You're missing recoil control hacks. They are very effective and not many people understand recoil control can help you dominate game lobbies.
I didn't forget, I debated adding them, but decided not to in the end. Those are really good hacks though
