I have driven the ADL200 and despite being almost new, I didn't like them at all for some bad engineering. The worst thing is the kicky gearbox that gives it a rough upshifts and downshifts and every time the gear is changed, the standing passengers will be staggering back and forth!. This issue puts a huge pressure on drivers' shoulders about the safety of passengers and so on.
I can’t help but notice the Allison transmission on this vehicle seems to slip through all the gears, the torque converter usually locks up in 2nd gear on the Allison boxed mmc’s.
i think it's because he keeps holding it in 2nd gear
Edit: oh yh it is a bit limited actually i found out when he gained speed on the dual carriageway
aye but i think alot of allisons act like this, our e200 & optares are similar to this but with a tad more pronounced gear changes
Yeah I noticed it as well, a bit weird…

It sounds like those AT545s we have back in the US. I don’t really like transmissions that always keep the engine reving at a very high RPM without the RPM changing much after each gear shift
18:21 Morris Marina coupé in mustard still going after 51 years. Rock on.
6:19 yes ventura, satisfying pump sound

Great video. ☺
Looks pretty
They didn't mention the Gearbox on the video. Is the Allison Gearbox a 5 or 6 speed?

This bus is a 10.8m, not a 10.2m
does that operator want huge amounts of rattling for the passengers, shite build quality these adl's
Rattling honestly isn't that bad I like adls non electric buses I usually go on full journeys on them a few times and it's not that bad it don't bother me at all in fact every manufactures buses have rattling its honestly not that bad to handle u can still hear the engine which is louder so
More rattles than mother care 😅

the version of this bus on 469 are nasty to ride on constant engine shake always seems to be something wrong with them often break down poor design and feels cheap
💯💯The p.a. type build for dublin busses are horrible to drive, the cab area is like a torture box, even the Chinese who is best at torture methods wouldn't be able to build something like this, many dublin bus drivers including myself injured by the alexander dennis busses, the handbrake position is way back in the cab also very hard to apply, which causing tension to shoulder and neck muscles which eventually turned into a permanent damage. I have torrn muscles on my shoulder 3 different places, This bus caused myself and many other drivers shoulder injury, 18 months passed and no improvement, my right arm only functioning %50 as a result of your brain dead engineers wrongly designed bus, you know what including myself there will be 100,s of claim cases against alexander dennis due to negligence of your brain dead idiot engineers. only my hospital appointments files is 2 inch tick due to your negligence and soon there will be a lawsuit against your company 💯💯💯
