    Have you been to Rolha Wine Bar in Porches? That's a great way to get to know small producers and low-intervention/natural wines from all over Portugal. Also, there's a new vineyard/winery in Aljezur called Atlas Land that's worth checking out.

    Quinta do Santos, not been since covid but agree its very nice place & people. Dined in bar & was undercharged, didn't think about it till next day, they had not billed us for our wine. Went back & explained, their reaction thank you for telling us but it was our mistake have it on us. Also saw a big star of UK TV in the bar.

    Wow that looks so beautiful with the giant olive trees and the ocean not too far... 🫒🫒🫒The local wine I want to try is the barboursville paxxito, a dried grape very sweet wine... Similar to the Italian late harvest wines.

    Great video, Nick, you always produce interesting and video's of quality. Enjoyed seeing you and Chris together, enjoying life and the wines of the Algarve. I had no idea that Portugal had so many Vineyards! I hope to see more of you and Chris tasting more of the wines of Portugal. Cheers!

    Very interesting! I knew about the Douro wine valley in the north, but had no idea there were any vineyards in the Algarve.

      Dave ! You make an excellent point !
      I’ve lived in the Algarve for 4 years ! The Portuguese aren’t good at marketing their businesses !
      I was astonished there were so many on the map !

    I would like to know the varietals and bottle prices. It seems tasting prices are the same as in California, but I think that they all came with food? I liked your comment on prices in the major tourist spots.

      @AlgarveAddicts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sherry, I would definitely book to avoid disappointment, especially in summer. Some of the bigger ones will cater for "drop ins".

    Vinho Lagoa was produced and sold only in Algarve. It had a high alcohol content but it was so smooth and delicious that tourists didn't realize how fast and how drunk they would get. We used to take bets on tourists, who was going to drop face on the table first. Between ordering and the food arriving at the table, a group of 4 adults could easily consume one to two bottles of Vinho Lagoa. We evaluated the size of the person and observed how they drunk. The one who won the bet haf a free dinner. The company was bought by a foreign entetprise and they sunk the whole business... On EN 125 you will find the building... so sad!

      Hi Mary Beth, I drink wine but I am not a conneisseur by any means. There is a yearly wine award in the Algarve, so I'd suggest you look for the winners. @@maxflight777 Now I understand, I apologize for not being neither a South African nor an Australian. I just thought cultivation of grapes for the purpose of making wine rose to another level, unlike growing alfalfa or lettuce or cattle feed.

    • @thomperry1187

      @@BasicBeachCommunity1 What an absurdity! What does winemaking have to do with farming? You grow, farm grapes, if you will, that is the extent of it. It's like calling a baker a wheat farmer. They guy who cooked your steak, a cow feeder. Making wine is the work of a skilled artisan, not a farmer. Someone who does not understand this, obviously does not know the difference between wine or the shit a coca cola farmer produces.
