    This is not calibration, this is only verifiaction of accuracy, if the accuracy is not in range and need to be adjusted then you do the calibration, when you correct the measure of the DMM to have a better accuracy then that is the calibration. You can find calibration manual for some Fluke DMM online, you could do it yourself but you need a proper equipment and sometimes for work you will need a certificate of calibration, so you have to paid the calibration to authorized labs.

      Calibration and verification are the 2 confusing terms when implementing the calibration process. During calibration, our main purpose is to determine the accuracy of our instruments, this is done through comparison of readings to obtain the error (or to be complete, bias and measurement uncertainty).
      During verification, our purpose is to determine if the result of calibration has ‘passed’ or ‘failed’ based on a given tolerance limit. From these definitions, you can now determine your purpose if to ‘calibrate’ or to ‘verify’. Calibration is just comparing, not adjustment.

    Today I learned what calibration actually means. Guess after calibration I'm making adjustments from now on.

      Adjustment to nominal can be a part of a calibration, but not always. If the UUT is within manufacturer's specs when compared to a lab standard (usually a 4:1 accuracy ratio) it is calibrated.

    sir what if off yung reading ng meter compared sa calibrator, may paraan ba na ma adjust ang calibration ng fluke dmm? meron ako fluke 28ii na medyo below (200-300mv in DC, less 1v or more in AC) ang reading nya compared sa aking fluke 287. i wonder kung pwede ba ma adjust yung reading ng unit at least to its specification. Im aware na mas accurate ang 287 as per specification pero dapat sana halos magkapareho lang readout nila at least in first decimal. tia

      hindi ako sure kung pwede sa model na yan pero ang pagkakaalam ko basta Fluke pwede sya. karaniwan nasa user's manual kung paano iadjust. meron ka lang pipihitin na trimpot para maadjust sya. pwede mo gamitin na reference yung mas accurate na dmm mo. Salamat sa pag view ng video.

    It is possible to do correction error adjustment in the Fluke 115 multimeter?

    Can I ask if the Fluke multimeter can be adjusted if it is out of calibration?

    • @calibrationawareness7956
      @calibrationawareness7956  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it can be, some models have service instructions for adjustment provided by the manufacturer that we can follow. Just look for the service manual.

    Dear Edwin sir, I have a question,
    How will we use our std. error (which we got in std. calibration certificate) during this calibration ?

    • @calibrationawareness7956
      @calibrationawareness7956  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rajeev,
      Std error is used as a correction to compensate for the error encountered. For every error that you have, a corresponding correction factor is calculated (which is the opposite of the error).
      Check out my article in this post where I presented how to use the correction factor in calibration results. >> calibrationawareness.com/simple-ways-to-apply-correction-factors-in-a-calibration-certificate-if-the-exact-value-you-need-is-not-given

    How calibrate digital multimeter in measure mode .

    • @calibrationawareness7956
      @calibrationawareness7956  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A multimeter is always in a measure mode, it is receiving a signal from the calibrator.

      internal board have some screws there thar you turn +/- to center bias of several parameters

    Calibration means you need to adjust the equipment. Verification is definitely not a calibration.

      Calibration is a testing against a good standard per calibration manual. Adjustment is not a calibration, but can be called a cal/adjust in some cases

      Yes, there is a special cable designed for calibration with good insulation, low resistance value, and can withstand high current range.

    Question is : how did you CALIBRATE the meter and where's the calibration control on the meter ?
    You've only showed various readings on an already calibrated meter that's all.

    • @leonordeborbon2121
      @leonordeborbon2121 ปีที่แล้ว

      usually you have to expose the board and find some screws there that you can turn +/- the central bias of several parameters

    This multimeter is definitely NOT calibrated properly. It should read 250VDC and 250 VAC, not 249.8VDC and 249.8VAC. This is only a verification, not a calibration.

    • @calibrationawareness7956
      @calibrationawareness7956  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First of all, this is just a simple demonstration. Calibration may or may not include adjustment. The main point in calibration is the comparison of the std reading with the DUT reading to determine the error. Read more in this guide. You definitely don't understand what the calibration is if you never heard about uncertainty 🤦‍♂️
