Just did this tonight on my peonies and tomatoes. I bought a gallon pressure sprayer but couldnt figure out how to put it together...hubby will have to do that. But i used a quart hand sprayer and for now worked just fine. Finally, tomorrow we will see sun!

Sure works with Squash and powdery mildew! Most of my leaves were covered with a light powder and one application of this mix took care of it! Will be using every 10-14 days through the summer to see how it holds up. Also 50 tomato plants planted and will be hitting these as well as last year had a problem with blight.
I think this was your best video on the use of H2O2. Have used it in the past from listening to your videos and it does work well. Next year, I will do the 1-2 week preventative treatment so my tomato plants look as good as yours. 🍅

Thank you so much Gary! I just wanted you to know you have helped me and I'm sure many others get through these difficult times. You've eased my anxiety and mental distress and kept me from getting discouraged about my own gardening failures. You are a beautiful blessing ❣️

Going to try this, I live in Ohio high humidity, i get tomato blight every year. Not only tomato blight but it also hits my rose bushes, peonies and hostas. Thank you!
It works well. Test spray and wait 48 hours for damage on new plants. That is just good practice. Thanks so much for the tip about spider mites on bean plants! Will try that immediately! On another video of yours, in the comment section, a person or two mentioned the mites dislike sulfur, so I tried spraying with Espom salt solution (1TBSP/gal) a couple days ago. Slight relief, but I'd rather see them all gone.
They are such a pain. I found peppermint oil regularly keeps them in order. I have to do another round. You see they should up on mine because I started spraying late. Gary, I have been watching your videos on Hydrogen Peroxide, Peppermint, Rosemary and Neem oil. Do you alternate preventative sprays? If you are spraying Peroxide every 7-10 days and also Peppermint and Rosemary the same, do you alternate or do you double those up and stagger every few days? Or do you work out a schedule that you use for the season?
I’m a new gardener with a container garden (bell peppers, peppers, Thai basil, and cucumbers) and I have root rot. My store brought pots are 10, 12, and 15 inches and didn’t have drain holes. I fixed that problems but the water that drained out smelled horrible. I lose my parsley but the other plants appear to be ok, no yellow leaves or stems. Do I need to throw out everything and star over? If not, what do I need to do? Btw, I just brought your book and love it.
It's really all a Game of Survival with Tomatoes isn't it? I'm going to hit them tomorrow with Peroxide. I previously only did one application of 10 TBL. I'll now do the 'Oh Oh' Dose. I have a Virginia Sweets not looking well. And thank you Gary for that recommendation. It tasted spectacular!
I agree! Wise to start low and work up. Take notes. Good luck with the next dose. Please visit my seed shop www.therustedgarden.com for Your Fall Garden Seeds and Supplies. Good video. There are two home made solutions are very popular. (1) baking soda with veg.Oil & some soap liquid & (2) 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. Guide me in my following area. (A) 3% HP is only effective for fungus diseases or it also kills aphids, white fly & others? As a preventive care at what stage we should start to use? Like flowering or starting of fruiting?
For h2o2 it is a 3% solution but diluted down. It is good on fungus. It can be used any time. it can decrease aphids, spider mites and white flies but it not an insecticide. Being small they can be damage. Baking soda is just for leaf fungi. You really dont need both. Key is using them on a routine/..
Perfect! Thanks for the info. Good to hear what works. Please visit my seed shop www.therustedgarden.com for Your Fall Garden Seeds and Supplies. My plants are healthy. For now. I am confused as to prevention and methods. Baking soda, Epsom salt or peroxide? How do these three work together? Schedule? Which one or combination?
Thanks for teaching us consistency works. I have been keeping on my tomato plants all season and so far no problems. But will this work for powdery mildew on squash and cucumbers and black spot on roses? Thanks.
After treatment I would apply a compost/worm tea this will protect and make the plants invincible!!! I've been using "WORM TEA" forever and it's amazing microbiology!!

I dont if it would cure it but it would slow it down. If you arent cooking with the lavender, I would use non organic daconil. It is waterproof and effective. could i do something like this on Venus fly traps? what would a safe lower range of mix for this type of use? I'm looking really to water the VFT down with it including soil every now and then to help prevent fungus type disease associated with being wet all the time (there bog plants, so i can only keep then so dry) any thoughts on this?
So I dont know. But I would start with a lower ratio and test spray Introduction to Creating an Edible Landscape: th-cam.com/video/iOMJ_rbFupM/w-d-xo.html
What about dead (brown) spots on the bottom leaves (no yellowing that I can see)? I have had bad aphid problems this year. Not sure if that may have caused some leaves to die off or if I’m having a fungal issue.
Not any more. I found it doesn't make a difference. The Rusted Garden Vegetable Seeds & Home Garden Supplies: www.therustedgarden.com Earn 15% and become a TRG Affiliate for our seed & garden shop Sign Up Here: bit.ly/4aarkDD

some other authors suggest one to one ration of the 3% H2O2 is that an over dose or is it because u spary more frequent? can the one to one solution cause harm?

Hi Gary, thank for this informative video. Normally, with baking soda one would add a dab of dish soap and vegetable oil. Would this be a bad idea when using hydrogen peroxide?
Hey Gary! Will the solution of HP last in the sprayer for some time or it will degrade in a couple of hours? I guess HP is very unstable and it will degrade with water impurities and chlorine.
Degrades fast. A dark container sprayer can help extends it. No light. Please Visit The Rusted Garden Seed & Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com/ - Seeds, Starting Supplies, Neem Oil, Peppermint & Other Oils, Calcium Nitrate & More

Would this work for Downy mildew as well? Also, I got some neem oil from you a little over 2 years ago. Can I still ise it? It's been stored at room temperature and look pretty good.
The neem might be passed it prime. I have used it 2 seasons but not passed that. But I dont know for sure. H202 should help with downy mildew but always test spray first. @@THERUSTEDGARDEN I'll get some new neem oil. I did spray the lower leaves with some h202 last night. If no issues, I'll do it again tomorrow. What happened to your facebook group?
I like using this peroxide mix. I also use BT. When I spray BT how many days do you think I need to wait before spraying the peroxide mix. This spring/summer I will be spraying BT weekly to get out in front of the caterpillars and vine borers. I was thinking of alternating neem oil with BT maybe. I heard that peroxide will disinfect the BT if I spray it afterwards, that’s why I asked.
I would do h202 first. It clears off in like 24 hours. But 7-10 days to answer your question. Sale for 10% off. Code 500K. Expires Friday 4/16. Always test spray. Peppers yes as the leaves are tough. Basil is more fragile so you definitely want to test this ratio but will probably have to dilute it more. Hi Gary thank you for this informative video! I live in Bahrain, and could only find 9% concentration H2O2! would that mean that I should use 4 tablespoons per Galon?
Great approach Or spray at night fungus tends to spore at might. Why dont you water a little with it too? I guess you wouldnt want to deeply sterilise soil but the surface might b ok. Also i think barley straw in a pond makes hydrogen peroxide naturally and cleans algae. Maybe it would be the go to mulch for humid climate?
You can but always test spray new mixes on some leaves and wait 48 hours. My book The Modern Homestead Garden is available here: I now have an Amazon Influencer's Storefront. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It is free to use. www.amazon.com/shop/garypilarchiktherustedgarden
Gary, I’m getting some apple rust fungus on my apple tree leaves. It was recommended to me to get a product called “Pure Crop 1” - hard to find and expensive. Do you think H202 spray will work on this problem, or any similar fungus issues on fruit tree leaves?

Just did this tonight on my peonies and tomatoes. I bought a gallon pressure sprayer but couldnt figure out how to put it together...hubby will have to do that. But i used a quart hand sprayer and for now worked just fine. Finally, tomorrow we will see sun!

Sure works with Squash and powdery mildew! Most of my leaves were covered with a light powder and one application of this mix took care of it! Will be using every 10-14 days through the summer to see how it holds up. Also 50 tomato plants planted and will be hitting these as well as last year had a problem with blight.
Thanks for the tip ,I'll try this on mine.😊
I think this was your best video on the use of H2O2. Have used it in the past from listening to your videos and it does work well. Next year, I will do the 1-2 week preventative treatment so my tomato plants look as good as yours. 🍅

Would this work on gnat fungus? The soil is where they lay the larvae and then they kill off the roots. It would have to be a soil drench. Thanks!

Gary,
I have been watching your videos on Hydrogen Peroxide, Peppermint, Rosemary and Neem oil.
Do you alternate preventative sprays?
If you are spraying Peroxide every 7-10 days and also Peppermint and Rosemary the same, do you alternate or do you double those up and stagger every few days?
Or do you work out a schedule that you use for the season?
I'm curious about this as well. Should we pick one thing and stick with that or stagger the various things and use it all?
I added the peppermint oil to my h2O2 spray.
I would like to know this too
I’m a new gardener with a container garden (bell peppers, peppers, Thai basil, and cucumbers) and I have root rot.
Run a gallon of water through each container, rinsing the bacteria and funky stuff out. And I would add a teaspoon peroxide to each gallon.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and research with us. Does the hydro peroxide damage the plant flowers or production?
I've not had a problem with either. Best of luck to you in future.
I heard of using a Hydrogen Peroxide to water the plant if a root fungus might be present do you think this is good and what mixture
Good video.
There are two home made solutions are very popular.
(1) baking soda with veg.Oil & some soap liquid &
(2) 3% Hydrogen Peroxide.
GAry I use 12 Tbs per gallon my tomatoes , beans, peppers, okra and all my plants. It works great per my experience and videos last year.

My plants are healthy. For now. I am confused as to prevention and methods. Baking soda, Epsom salt or peroxide? How do these three work together? Schedule? Which one or combination?
Very informative for me since my tomatoes turn to yellow, thanks for sharing
Thanks for teaching us consistency works. I have been keeping on my tomato plants all season and so far no problems. But will this work for powdery mildew on squash and cucumbers and black spot on roses? Thanks.
After treatment I would apply a compost/worm tea this will protect and make the plants invincible!!! I've been using "WORM TEA" forever and it's amazing microbiology!!
Do you spray it on or water with it?

Hi Gary, Do you store left over mix or do you make it fresh everytime? Thanks
I was told it has to be used within 15 minutes of mixing!
@@tanahiveley2887 hmmm is there a reason why? I've been storing them and spraying but seeing how it's not hitting those bugs, that's probably why...
It breaks down quickly in sunlight. That’s why the bottles are brown. If your sprayer is clear then it’ll probably go bad the same day.
Nice!! Love that you are growing magic mushrooms in the back ground.

Thank you Gary! Would this treatment work for Lavender that has turned black? Assuming it is a fungus due to the high humidity.
I dont if it would cure it but it would slow it down. If you arent cooking with the lavender, I would use non organic daconil. It is waterproof and effective. Serenade is an organic option but it has to be applied more often.

Do you recommend baking soda spraying for prevention? What is your thought on increasing salt on your soil with such spraying?
You may know but it's not salt, like table salt. It is in the chemical class of salts. So sodium bicarbonate and really high amounts is an issue but as a spray it is fine.

Can you mix the peroxide with aspirin to spray at the same time?
could i do something like this on Venus fly traps? what would a safe lower range of mix for this type of use? I'm looking really to water the VFT down with it including soil every now and then to help prevent fungus type disease associated with being wet all the time (there bog plants, so i can only keep then so dry) any thoughts on this?
So I dont know. But I would start with a lower ratio and test spray

Please what's the prevention measurement of this H2O2 for tomatoes and how often should it be sprayed?
What about dead (brown) spots on the bottom leaves (no yellowing that I can see)? I have had bad aphid problems this year. Not sure if that may have caused some leaves to die off or if I’m having a fungal issue.
Bottom leaves is okay. Just remove them

Do you cut the yellowing leaves off too or have I been wasting a lot of time?
Could you combine aspirin and h2o2 in same preventative spray
Probably. I never tried. Not sure if h202 would react with aspirin. I would mix h202 with anything else.

Hey Gary! Love the value content of video. Thank you so much in what u do. Because you don't have to share anything about gardening. So, can u use 1to 2 TPS of peroxide to water in a small spray bottle?
Hi thx for the great tip. I thought I saw somewhere you recommend baking soda afterwards? If do how much?
Check the baking soda videos on my channel. But its 1-2 tablespoons per gallon.

Does the tomatoes and papers going to produce through the winter?
Frost will kill them. Depend on how warm your winters are.
Excellent! Thanks and can't wait to buy it he book. Those mushrooms? I'm getting them with all of the rain and humidity we've had here in Ohio. Are they harmful to the plants? New gardener and don't know what to do with them.
Mushrooms are fine. Good luck

Beautiful cardinal chirp!!
Hi Gary I have 5 percent peroxide what is the ratio of water to use
I dont know. It's now quite double 3%. If you dilute your h202 by 1 equal part you get 2.5% solution which is close to 3%. You can use it that way. Or must use 5% at 1/2 strength.

No light.

Hi Gary, are you using chlorine dioxide in the garden?
I dont. I am not sure what I would use it for. H202 is a better oxidizer.

Great information.
Appreciated

Can I use it for basil and peppers 🌶️? Same ratio?
Always test spray. Peppers yes as the leaves are tough. Basil is more fragile so you definitely want to test this ratio but will probably have to dilute it more.

Hello, just wondering if this treatment would work for Cercospora fungus on crepe myrtle trees?
So I am not sure what that is but I get a white powder growth on mine. This worked to help control it but I didnt stick with it. I use serenade on it. that helps.

Hi Gary
thank you for this informative video!
I live in Bahrain, and could only find 9% concentration H2O2! would that mean that I should use 4 tablespoons per Galon?
Yes that will work.
Is it use for orchids
Hello and greetings from sunny SW Florida. You have a seed shop? I am just starting to garden. Thank you
Thank you and it was helpful. Can we spray this to our squash plants???

Gary, I’m getting some apple rust fungus on my apple tree leaves. It was recommended to me to get a product called “Pure Crop 1” - hard to find and expensive. Do you think H202 spray will work on this problem, or any similar fungus issues on fruit tree leaves?
I dont know. I get Rust also. I would test it out. I am still earning about trees
