Thank you ! I am in, and will be looking at your website often, am interested in remote nursing jobs and you did all the digging/hard work to help us the nurses .
I just wanted to say thank you so much; you're cool like that for sure. I just got out of the military as an LVN; and due to my ignorance you saved me from paying for an online course that isn't accredited and wont guarantee me a job.
Hey! I'm so glad to hear you were able to avoid this - it hurts when I find out someone unknowingly paid for an unaccredited course with empty promises.
First of all, thank you for the video. It s very well organized, to the point. You saved us a lot time. My question is: can you share the best remote jobs you've had?
Hey! Apologies, I didn't see that you had left this comment 🤦♀️. I personally have only worked remotely as a CDI nurse and I love it. Lots of autonomy and flexibility throughout my day.
Liked and subscribed! I have a B.A. in English/journalism minor and Associate degree in nursing and working on my BSN. What places might hire me and what jobs might be appropriate for me as a remote nurse? Thank you so much for your content!
Welcome! There are many options for you, it really depends on your interests. Your B.A. in English/Journalism made me wonder if you wouldn't try your hand at freelance nurse writing. There is an amazing community of freelance nurse writers over on LinkedIn, including those who have bylines on Nurse Fern.
Often I see nurses report high stress due to contact and metrics with CM. CDI pays well and is the only one with an association that I know of that publishes a yearly salary report, you can find it on the ACDIS website.
Thank you for making this very informative video! I was wondering if you have any thoughts on RN Medical Coder jobs? Is it worth taking the courses and taking the exam to get certified? Thank you
You're welcome! Thanks for dropping a question. This is all very personal opinion-based but...It's hard to say - RN coder roles are definitely a bit more specialized and niche. If you know exactly what company/roles you are going for, have some connections, and know that this is what you want - I'd say go for it. If you aren't sure, you may want to spend some time researching what positions require coding and what ones don't. The coding classes are expensive, and I'm not a huge fan of investing the money up front if you don't need to. Another idea - CDI uses coding every day but coding certifications aren't required, advanced CDI nurses may go for certs years into their career. You may want to hang out in some facebook groups specific to CDI (there is a great one that's easy to find) and see what others have to say about the opportunities.
Thank you so much, Fern, so valuable. What about living abroad? I live in Belgium but I am California licensed. I suppose I am a resident there, since I still pay taxes and vote out of CA.
There are a couple companies that allow you to work overseas as long as you have a US address or live on a base. Check out Incredible Health, Trusted Health, and Fonemed or Intellatriage may still do international.
I am a 4 year orthopedic nurse and two years in step down nurse. We are hoping to move out of the country in two years and would like to find a job that I can do from out of the country and possibly part time. What would you recommend?
Hey! You could likely apply for many of the CM/UM/UR positions but there are also CKD specific positions that want dialysis experience. Fresenius is one employer who hired CKD CMs remotely.
What type of remote job can an Lpn for 12 yrs With homehealth geriatric, skilled nursing home, homecare (pediatric)for medically fragile children, And homehealth hospice get?
I'd keep an eye on the job board for any type of LPN CM/UM roles and look at what specific requirements they have for experience. Many want the type of experience you hold.
Absolutely! There are not as many LPN/LVN remote nursing roles out there compared to RN, but we love to feature LPN/LVN opportunities when they come up in our daily searches. We also have a "recently closed job document" where you can search on page for LPN to see past company postings and the job titles advertised. nursefern.com/recently-closed-remote-nursing-jobs/
We focus on LPN/LVN/RN/NP on the job board - however there are many options for CNAs with the same companies that hire remote nurses. They’ll often be listed with keywords like coordinator, associate, or representative in the job title.
@@simeonapajarillo6499 I If they would actually talk to me instead of assuming that. Do you want someone reliable or cheap? In the end it's the patient that suffers. I'm working now in a new career that pays much less.

What type of remote jobs can someone with previous dialysis nurse experience get? Noticed you didn’t mention that, thanks!

Hi, is this possible for new nurses that have only worked for a year?
It is! I've started posting required amount of clinical experience on the job board.

I’m an LPN that’s worked in LTC and Skilled Nursing. Would there be a role for me in remote nursing?

I'm an RN for over 30 years. Out of work for over 14 months..I have had Telephone Triage Experience for almost 20 years. No one wants to hire
You are expensive to hire

Are there a remote nursing job for other countries out of the US?
There are! We focus on US based but we do see others
