After you are diagnosed with sleep apnea. Go through your medical records or DBQ's to see if it's service connected. Afterwards, I think the better path is Depression/Anxiety/PTSD...Cheers!

Are you saying that they combined the rating or that the claim is still open and they combined the claim and that it is pending?

They will just do an exam and comment on the conditions in your records and then the doctor will likely provide an opinion on which condition they believe you are suffering from

Who's best to go see for a tinnitus diagnosis? A primary care or actual ear Dr. Also, I get headaches.
Where can I get that probability sheet? Ty for all you do.

The VA has rated me with tinnitus. Mine is only getting worst and is causing sleepless night and lots of frustration. You have hit on many points and medical studies. I believe a Nexus letter will help, but what is the right path for the actual diagnosis to tie all of this together.

you can always go see your primary care doctor or an audiologist for evaluation. If you are interested in a nexus letter now or in the future please reach out to me at leah@prestigeveteranmctx.com

Can I ask you a question? Along with my Service-connected Tinnitus I was also diagnosed with Severe migraines and Hyperacusis as directly related to my Tinnitus . I will be filing secondary claims for each as I have Nexus letters for both as well. Any advise for me ? Also on the VA form where it asks how to decriibe that your Migraines are connected to my Tinnitus. What should I write? Thank you ,.

i would advise you to work with an accredited legal representative like a VSO, Attorney or accredited claims agent if you are not as they can be very helpful. As far as your question about the VA form is concerned, I would ask your local VSO to help you with filling that portion out as they are a free resource and are there to assist with filling.

My experiences with a VSO have not been great. I felt I was asking a question at the DMV

Leah- I completed my hearing/ Tinnitus exam last week I ask the examiner if she wanted my summary detailed statement of exposure related to hearing and tinnitus and she said no she didn't need it. I was a Aircraft Engine Specialist on prop driven aircraft and always exposed to Jet engine noise as well. Can you advise me on if you think it would be beneficial to submit in my records the exposure summary and how would I do that because I have already completed my appt and exam? I want to get that in my records

Hey sir I hope the exam went well. I think it can't hurt! Please keep me posted on this and best of luck to you. I cannot really advise you on the submission and filling part but it sounds like you are on the right track

Hello Leah, Thanks for getting back to me. I did complete the exam for both the tinnitus and heating loss. Although she did not complete the DBQ to my knowledge, I did talk with the VA and was advised that they did receive all of my information related to the Hearing and Tinnitus. I did complete my Agent Orange, Bio Hypertension exams actually today and the examiners had already sent a portion to the Va the week before this last exam. I will keep you posted as to the progress and outcome. I do plan to file PTSD this week as I have had for years issue with certain things in Nam like motor attacks, long times in bunkers, motors walking down the runway as I was taking off from a base I was at. Any recommendations as to the PTSD. I have had issues with nightmares related to these issues for years with anxiety and sleeping, sweating and other related symptoms. Thank you for all you do to help vets. @@prestigeveteranmedical

Hey how are you? Got question. I am 10% service connected for Tinnitus. At my C& P exam the Doctor told me I have moderate to substantial hearing loss and he advised me to file an additional clam for that. Additionally, I was also diagnosed for Hyperacusis and Migraines and have received Nexus letters for each. So, I just filed for both of them as secondary to my service-connected Tinnitus. Now during my C & P exam for Hearing loss the Doc told me he also said he agrees with my private doc and will rule in favor of me for the Hyperacusis and Migraines but he further said his opinion on the Migraines may not count because usually a C& P exam for Migraines are performed by a Neurologist. Any thoughts ? Id love to hear your opinion. . Thank u

It is not true that neurologists typically preform headache/migraine exams. They do preform them at times but they are often preformed by general practitioners. They are NOT however performed by audiologists who, I assume is the type of practitioner that preformed your hearing exam.

Yes. Thats true , An Audiologist performed my C& P exam for hearing loss.

Same as when I had my C&P exam for Tinnitus.
