  • The ALDE 3030 system in the new TAB 360 from nuCamp RV is a fantastic and feature-rich system to maintain your comfort when camping. It controls the water heater, the cabin heater, and now the Truma air conditioner! All of the functionality means it has a sophisticated display and menu system. Let's go through the functions and menus in this new system with PJ from Princess Craft RV.

I can tell you about “Calibration” 14:32 on the Alde Panel. I was having trouble getting even heat, in my TAB 400, when it was pretty cold outside. The bed area would get really hot, but at the front, not so much. I had the temperature set for 72 but the bed area was heating up to 78!! The colder it was, outside, the hotter the bed area would get. Especially if it was windy outside. The Truma techs, who changed the glycol during UCamp, explained: The thermostat for the unit, is in the Alde control panel. With the Alde control panel, being right by the door, the cold air that seeps in through the door jam, keeps the thermostat low, causing the heat to stay on while it tries to heat that area up to 72. So, with it trying to get the heat up at the front of the TAB, the bed area would get more heat than needed. The techs showed me how to get to the screen with the Calibration setting and moved the slider down to -5. This would cause the Alde to adjust down -5 degrees making the heat even, through out the camper. And it worked!! I talked to NuCamp techs, looked through all the forums and talked to other TAB 400 owners, about my problem and no one had the solution. Most people purchased a small heater and didn’t use the Alde heat. I finally gave up and purchased a small space heater to use, also. But, I became angry, to have spent top dollar on a camper that had such a unique heating system and I couldn’t get it to work! That’s why I asked the guys changing the glycol. I figured they would know the best about the system, and they did!! I can’t wait to use my Alde heater, next week while camping in Indiana for the Covered Bridge Festival! One more thing… Alde is a Swedish system and it is correctly pronounced Ald”a” not Ald”e”. We Americans need to start pronouncing the name correctly. I learned this while talking to the techs, also. So, thank you Truma Techs! You’re the best. If anyone is having trouble adjusting for even heat in their TAB, go to the calibration screen and adjust it anywhere from -5 to +5, until you find the right number to solve your problem. In the Alda 2020 model it’s in the tools section, about 5 screens down.
