Diego Duran documented this war of the gods vs the giants and the flood as a part of Aztec History in the 1500s as well, I believe. He documented the Aztecs interaction with giants. The god Tezcatlipoca created giants after throwing himself into a "great fire." The giants didn't listen to the gods that created them, so this resulted in a world-wide deluge in order to wipe the giants out. They also propose that some of the giants survive, but turn into fish, except for seven giants that fled into caverns. Interesting this mythology is present/so consistent even in the Americas…
Native American tribes have stories of cannibalistic pale-skinned, bright red haired giants that terrorized them. I don't remember what tribe it was, but I remember reading one story about how one tribe simply had enough, burned a group of giants out of their caves and killed them to stop the harassment of their villages.
Sometimes I think these stories are actually prehistoric, passed on orally and the oral tradition relying on symbolism to maintain the stability of the story.
One needs a symbolically developed mind to see this.

Nah
They were all black
Black people populated the world first
This is truly fascinating how these different literary works relate to one another.
Excellent and insightful discussion. Thank you for posting this discussion. I had been making these connections with my students. I am thrilled I am not the only one to consider Grendel and his Mother as links to the Nephilim.
❤ you guys 😊
What a great day to Shovel and listen to epic stories.
Sounds like the Giant's blade in Zelda Ocarina of Time. It keeps braking until you complete the quest.
Time to go read Genesis 6 again!
I feel a Gary Wayne session coming on...
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Can we get these guys together somehow?
When you drop a clip the size of two regular youtuber's full videos
They encounter two Refaim. Similar but not same.
Jackson Crawford (The Great Courses series on Norse Mythology) says Jotun are not necessarily giants and are instead similar in size to the Aesir. Giants may exist in the stories but Marvel universe is misleading
They probably laughed when they heard that Glove ended up without a head and 5 protruding limbs, just like a hand
This is excellent. Thank y'all.
0:30 I’ve never heard the Nephilim/Beowulf comparison. I’m the host of a podcast called Garden of Doom and I’d love to have you on the show. I’m also associated with the Nephilim Anthropology Conference and I have no doubt they’d want to talk to you. I’ve also been exploring that an overwhelming number of deities/angels/aliens who came down to procreate are male. I find almost no females except Aphrodite or her cursed victim Eos.
What about titan Echidna - mother of monsters also from greek mytholohy? She would be also match for this theory.
Bravo
goodness. it is not hard to see how giants could exist after the flood. while Noah's sons are pure, if any of the wives of any of Noah's 3 sons were not pure, giants could come back. The only line we know for a fact was pure was the line between Noah and Jesus. The others don't need to be.
You should check out Fr. Stephen De Young’s take on this in his Lord of Spirits podcast. Giants were the result of a demonic ritual that involved a human man possessed by a demon, and a human female. “2/3 divine, 1/3 human.” This is how Gilgamesh was described. Descriptions of these rituals have been discovered in the Middle East, and the biblical authors would have been familiar with these practices. See also the bed of Ogg from Deuteronomy I believe.
Rob Skiba said much the same I believe
euhemerization can go two ways
It defintiely is in Genesis 6... the "bene elohim" who threw off their natural spiritual "eikoterion" or "estate" of being, in order to procreate with women in Genesis 6...are not men. They were spiritual beings that chose to take physical form. The women they procreated with became sirens, and their offspring were giants (nephelim, rephaim, anakim, zimzummim, etc....) The greater backdrop for Genesis 6 is given in 1st Enoch, and then later quoted by Peter and Jude, and alluded to at several points by Paul.
What is interesting, is that if you read the language of Genesis, the language used says that everything that was dwelling ON the face of the earth was destroyed. That, to me, seems to leave open the possibility that things dwelling deep within the earth could have somehow survived it. Were the watchers teaching their offspring to go under the earth to avoid the flood on the face of the earth? Is this why we see so many incredibly deep underground tunnel systems around and underneath ancient temple sites? Interesting to think about...
The person with a keen eye will find this interesting.
*Job26 []*
To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee? Dead things [רְפָאִים rephaim] are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof. Hell [שאול, _Saul]_ is naked before him, and destruction [אבדונ, Abaddon] hath no covering.
*Job26 []*
To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee? Dead things [γίγαντες , gigantes] are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
Hell [ᾅδης, Hades] is naked before him, and destruction [ἀπωλείᾳ, Apollyeia/Apollyon] hath no covering.
*(Ἀποκάλυψις **9:11** [])*
Do you know if any Saint spoke or wrote of it?@@AnHebrewChild
wow, giant and troll høres veldig ut som "jotne" og "tuss"
"clip"
lol
The Bible very clearly says God made man on the 3rd day, GEN 2:5 .God made man in "His image" Gen 1:26, on the sixth day. There was man here before Adam but not in Gods image. This explains where Cain's wife came from and maybe even Neanderthals. Read it carefully and you will see.
So a creation before creation? Got it!
Sometimes referred to as the "creation gap".
@liemon No, it explains the creation. The account is of the seed and God revealing Himself to man. Read what it is telling you. Pray as you are investigating and His Spirit will show you if you are serious.
@@metaspacecrownedbytime4579 I am serious. This type of speak creates a they-them racism and lets other people appear to be subhuman. I think you should try Jonathan's lecture to the Jung society in Montreal here on TH-cam. It's a much better explanation, sans subhumaning others.
Ghey evolutionist moment
As usual Jonathan talks only about the myth .What I would like to know is about real living giants from those times, which is much more interesting.
I feel like there are many other sources to find information on “real” ancient giants- Jonathan finds the *pattern* of giants, which I appreciate, because it helps me identify “real” giants today.
@@hismonkess yeah? Help me see them
Just read the Old Testament. The peoples that the Israelites are commanded to completely destroy are the giants.
We're going to face a fractal reflection of the Giants soon

The sethite theory is absolutely absurd and is a betrayal of the actual text.
