It always amazes me how much effort we put into having "knowledge" but how little effort we put into being "intelligent". By that I mean, we have developed a very simple-but-complex system of language to organize and share ideas, but we put almost no effort into optimizing or understanding the brain/psyche. This is what C. Jung was on about, religion and story telling were the historical systems for understanding the complex-but-simple existence we have, but we have largely abandoned those systems. And as Anders said in the video its difficult to "enhance" the entire brain, since its impossible to define what part of the brain we should enhance. I think exercise/diet is a good starting point for cognitive enhancement, but once you starting dealing with "smart drugs"/nootropics/psychotropics you usually run into tradeoff's and even with mental exercises there are tradeoffs. IMO logical approaches to cognitive improvement probably aren't the most effect, and a novel approach with cognitive exploration would likely be just as or more effective.
I have an idea for a mental exercise that stresses my brain, forcing me to use various algorithms that force me to use my spatial linguistic logicial, possessing speed, intuition, processing speed, working memory, short-term memory, long-term memory, photographic memory, lateral thinking to their utmost capability, as well as visual and rational model to the exercise. With new algotrithms placed everyday so my brain can get better at adapting to new things

What about genetic engineering?
I think that this video is focused on post-natal enhacements: genetic engineering may be used on human embryos

Perhaps we can cognitively enhance by tapping into the force - but which side of the force?
