So you pushed this way out yourself. If an instrument is that as out to tune it most likely is old and the strings could be in danger of breaking with that amount of adjustments! That would be a HUGE concern of mine. Thoughts? Advice?
Yeah, David has used that piano to train so many of his techs on tuning for practice...and yes-it requires pulling it out of tune and then tuning over and over again. This is why when you get a piano to practice tuning on - make sure it's used and you are ok with that. Not ever had issues with breaking strings...but definitely could be an issue.
@@staceybeadle6946 that’s kinda my point. As the instructor I kinda feel like that is something he should mention/discuss/suggest strategies to keep use when the situation arises. What does he do in a “real world” situation. I get why and how is is doing it on that piano. He purposely made it sound bad. But it hasn’t been sitting for years in that one place sounding like that’s. Those strings aren’t old, dusty, and bridle! 🤷🏻♂️
