There seems to be an inconsistency in the whole ransom story. If it really was fake, then who did Feyris' dad give the ransom to? There is at least one way on how you could possibly prevent Feyris' dad from dying while also having the cute culture in Akihabara. For example, send the D-mail that prevented her dad's death but also send another D-mail to open up a maid café no matter what to bring the culture of cuteness to the city or something like that. In fact, why not just send a D-mail to make sure that Feyris' dad misses that one business trip and to ensure that he gives the IBN 5100 to the shrine like he's supposed to? That way, Feyris can still have her dad and Okabe would still be one step closer to getting the IBN 5100.
