After his spinal surgery he has not regained that burst. Also, he is not 100% confident going to the rack as back issues just don’t go away. The surgery only relieved his nerve pain down the legs. It is almost impossible to fix a protruding disc. He has to live with it.

Yeah he’s definitely lost a step. Imo it’s more noticeable on D than offence and probably accounts for a lot of his extra fouls (+ obviously the season out of the game)

Nah you definitely have to be able to shoot. You don’t have to shoot all the time but when your time comes you have to be able to shoot and that was his problem. Couldn’t knock down free throws when they counted and that messed him up mentally. Got to have a jumper if you play in the nba and if you don’t at least work on it during l the offseason. He never did

@@mj23926 I disagree about the whole shooting part and I'm a 6ers fan. Ben woulda been fine had he been able to at the bare minimum knock down a good 80% from the stripe. And don't believe everything u hear cause ppl like to sell a false narrative that ben aint work on his shot but the truth is every single offseason a plethora of vids would drop of ben playing pickup in the gym and in every single video he's shooting. And the thing is his jumper wasn't even bad looking. It actually looks decent and smooth tbh. Not to mention he would shoot the middy in game from time to time but u could tell he didn't even have great confidence in that. For the psyche he possesses combined with his thin skin he was legit drafted to the worst possible team. Philly fans are brutal. And I don't say that as a flex or to try and look cool cause tbh I'm not wired the same as most philly fans. I'm from Baltimore and still reside here. But philly fans broke him down in a way that I'm not sure he'll ever recover from. And it's sad. I hate to put it all on the fans tho cause we're the ones shelling out hard earned money that he's a beneficiary of and we shouldn't have to coddle him because he's to brittle on a emotional and psychological level. Ive said since the day he was drafted Ben was not only one of the best young talents I've ever seen but he's one of the best the leauges ever seen. All that man had to do at bare minimum was have the ability to knock down some free throws. But if he were 2 tap into his full potential and developed that jumper it was game over. We coulda been looking at not one of but thee 🐐. Sadly that's not the way that fairytale panned out and we as a fan base let him down. And what's worse is it just wasn't our fault as fans but also the doing of his teammates and coach.

I'm a 6ers fan as well. I will admit I'm one of the ones that wasn't all but castrating him via social media tho. Although I do understand why the ones that chose to did. Everything surrounding that whole ordeal with the 6ers and ben is truly sad bro. The man had so much fkn potential. But was also about as thin skinned as one can possibly be. Makes me sick to my stomach cause I know had he received proper coaching and was actually developed to maximize his full potential we very well coulda been watching not just one of but the very BEST to ever play the game and inna 6ers jersey at that 😤😖😞

Ben Simmons did a lot defensively for Philly and Philly haven’t been better without him. Embiid became mvp but Simmons was covering a lot of flaws in his game and the team itself. Simmons was a switch army knife and only if he could have just decided to drive into the paint more to leverage his passing ability to get opportunities to score at the rim more, Philly could have at least made it to the conference finals
