Salutes brotha. Peanut was most certainly a jerk. He had balls...but didnt care about nothing other than himself. Another great story here. Consider how things turned out....now imagine had you been around different people at a different time. Might not have ended up in the situation you are now. All respects
Absolutely correct. I went up there primed n ready to go n had anyone nurtured that I’d be in the Feds w/ an L already so no complaints. Blessing in disguise for sure
When you talk about the Word, this is probably the most legit thing I've heard in the longest time! I'm thinking about my Brother who overdosed, my friends murdered when I was younger..its deep brother! Well done.
I stumbled on your channel accidentally. A few minutes in, I subscribed. I was affiliated with a legal organization that worked on Asker. A friend of mine was going up there a lot and I had an opportunity to read some of the testimony. I know a few guys who went to the Bay, because my ex husband did 46 years before he was exonerated. I knew them, and their families. Prison wives back then were a sisterhood that was bound by a common agony. When their husbands would get on the gray goose, we'd all hug and cry because we knew that they would have long trips, and extreme financial hardship which comes with an added expense. You took me back to another life.

Really appreciate how there ain’t no flexing, or glorification of that gangsta life on this channel ! Way too many prison channels are like that! You are very well spoken and informative- I respect that! Salute from Washington D.C.
Yo what up just tapping in also from the DMV area not specifically DC like my man who commented above but yeah I did live in Hyattsville for three years about a mile from DC right near Fuegos nightclub for folks who are from the area lol but yeah much respect to my man here he doesn’t glorify any bullshit and he’s a well spoken seemingly stand up dude respect brother
From my experience, that's how most all of Mexican gang members(both north and south)carry themselves. Very structured and respectful, rarely getting loud, but always ready to handle business. As a wood from both the California and Nevada systems, a lot of these dudes were the among the best ive ever met in my nearly 40 years on this planet, both inside and out of prison. A few are even good friends I still keep up with years later, not due to any politic things, just as good people period.
Most prison TH-camrs don't flex it and tell people not to go.. you gotta start using your own mind instead of just thinking what other people tell you. But then again that stuff happens when all you corny people who are really terrified of bad situations and prison and the hood or not even prison even something as simple as black culture come on the internet watching videos about those things and voicing your uneducated feelings that don't matter because you're just another soft spectator trying to be cool.
Rascal, Buenos dias & a crisp salute. Looking into my childrens faces I'm reminded daily of the many blessings that have come to fruition. I remember thinking in my days of being a soldiers soldier, "can't stop raising my hand, got to be on the next mission", that was my strive. Ultimately my knowledge & comprehension of what was needed in our strongholds was too vast and the people would no longer allow me carry out simple pegadas etc. I was literally told to stand down unless it was all out war. Thank you once again for sharing from the heart. You articulate extremely well. For one such as myself who has walked in those same state chanklas and boots and good ol' PIA shoes, it is good to reminisce the times down memory lane. Today I enjoy working with many of our likeminded gente who are striving for other things in life. Whether that's buying a house, seeking better employment or stopping a substance dependency. All these things still align with my core values of seeking a better education and demanding we have equal opportunities afforded to all others. This is now for me at least, carried on outside the walls. I still reach back inside to bless when I can. Doesn't take much to fly out a couple books of stamps or amazon somebody a book that will allow for that mental escape from the never ending gloomy realty of where our folks inside are. Nothing but the utmost Tu sabes
Gracias homie - it’s been a learning process on a lot of levels but I was certain I wanted to put out content beyond pinta war stories etc. That lane is crowded. I didn’t expect this level of engagement from people tho n that’s been very motivating
Finally someone who can share there experience and not take it to the head. Your humble and relaxed. Not a drop out, not a rat just a solid person with good gangster etiquette. Saying a lot with out exposing a lot. Much love from the SUR..
That means a lot homie - thank you. I spent a lil over a week in Chicago a couple years ago n *loved* it. I was mostly downtown n along the river but hit up Humboldt Park area n took in a lot of history n some cool convos w/ affiliates there
Man, I respect how u articulate yourself and speak matter of factIy.I did time, u conveyed the story well and precise. I understand every detail and how the atmosphere is
It's a trip how quick my head can go back to that place. I did 7 years, got out in 2007 (we were locked up at the same time, but never on the same yard.) and never went back, but listening to the stories of politics puts my head right back there like I never left. I like hearing the stories of the ones that made it though. So few of us do. It's especially interesting to hear perspectives from "the other side" too. People I couldn't program with because of politics. I always had a lot of respect for Northerners. Extremely respectful, ran a clean program but were down for theirs if it came down to it. Been lurking your videos for a while now, so I figured I'd say what's up.
I did 12 straight. I knew once that year mark hit I was gonna be due for a mission, that's just how it is in level 4s, but lucky me in 05 I left Corcoran for Centinela😎 A totally drama house, way to many youngsters 🤦♂️. Finally my last 5 1/2 years was at Norco(Disneyland) this is where I took advantage Auto Technician, and 1 year of college. Got out in 2012, paroled to Bell Gardens on Jaboneria & Loveland, everyone there new were I was from but no one bothered me so that was cool. Once I was off parole I moved to Colorado. Best decision ever and ver happy of it.
Just stumbled on your channel bro and subscribed. I paroled from the bay D5 under Chamarko in 03 and have never gone back. I was in Quentin for 6 years and got validated after going back and forth to the Oyo over the years. I to was and still am an n soldado in good standing but never looked back. The bay changed my mindset. To me that is where the term “lock em away and throw away the key” came from. I was in a pod with whites and eme. Only N there and by the second day I had a care package and a t.v in front of my cell and I didn’t know what to do. Whether to accept it or leave it but the eme dudes said in the end we are all Raza behind the doors. My cell doors popped open numerous times while there and no one ever came out. Crazy times. Your stories bring back memories. Glad your doing good Hermano.
@@HOMIEHangout i thought it was a great topic bro. You have a lot of good insight because you’ve been part of both. I had the keys to Quentin mainline 3 times and was backbar ra in the hole so I always got to see the communication back and forth and its crazy to me how many come in bangin in the streets but all of a sudden “they just want to do their time or Im not into the politics” but when they find their self in trouble with another group segment they want help from the house or now they are part of the cause but dont want to do their part and thats b.s. when we are just trying to make the line safe for all of us. Those vatos are the same in their streetgang. Reppin the name but look out only for themselves. For us if your “northern on the street and in the county your northern in the pinta and you gotta program. I saw this personally because I turned Quentin back into a 4 yard program and boy did I get some bite back from the homies who werent with it but eventually the got inline because they saw the benefits and safety of “the program”. The streets is cutthroat and wild. Glad I just do the family thing now. Keep up the videos homie and happy bday. Were around the same age. Im 46 in may. Saludos Nano de San Leandro👊🏽
My husband did 12 in hipower at the Bay 6 of them with Leukemia late 90's to 07. Came out a better person than when he went in. I lost him in 2020 your story took me back.
My condolences to you n yours - I had some serious health issues in prison that I deal with to this day but nothing like that. Can’t imagine his struggle or yours having to endure with him yet unable to be *with* him. I’m glad you all got to experience his freedom in this life before he passed freely into the next. Thank you for sharing such a personal reflection n I pray you are continuing to heal best as possible 🙏🏼
@@HOMIEHangout yea he was 15hrs away no phone privileges, letters took a month and in 22.5 was extremely hard for both of us. He caught 15 in the feds in 08 I moved everywhere he did to be close to him. He relapsed in 14, still with Leukemia then he developed a 2nd form that was terminal in 17. They gave him 4 months to live I got him out on compassionate release in 2019 he died exactly a year later. He was the longest living person with that type of cancer ever, he went through hellish treatments to help them learn more about it to help other ppl who get it. Hes my hero. You’re an extremely effective communicator sir- your vocabulary is expansive and your thoughts are carefully mapped. You would likely have been very successful in the corporate world if that was a path that was open to you. All the best.
I got first introduced to your channel from the dating an inmate/coming home video. I thank you for advice and for opening my eyes to concerns we (my dude) may face. He’s been down 30yrs in Texas and sometimes I have a hard time understanding. But it’s videos like these that make me realize he and are are in different realms right now. I wish you the best of luck on your journey. May the universe bless you. 🙏🏼

As a retired Correctional officer who also did time(different than yours) at Pelican bay from 03-05. congratulations on surviving the system. I tell people all the time that you guys have your program and we had ours , nothing personnel. I once responded to a one on a one yard fight ( probably tying to smuggle stuff to ad seg) and hit a guy so hard with the PR 24 baton it echoed on the yard . all he said was good fucking hit.
Do you recall a tall redhead CO who transferred to the Bay from Salinas Valley during the time you were there? I’d love to chat w/ you offline - I’m interested in your experiences n perspective if even for my own benefit n not public Joshua@TheHomieHangout.com

I dont know you but id like to say thank you for your channel. Im from Fresno but im retired. Sometimes we all need to hear other peoples stories to remind us life has a bigger picture. Like you mentioned you asked yourself why you still here when others bigger and stronger didnt make it. I always ask myself the same thing. I guess its because our future needs people like us to tell them life in the business isnt what they think it is. Keep striving
I experienced the Sur and Norte respect at High Desert Z-unit. My neighbors were Norte and showed love after the homies had cleared me and put me on Roll call. When we went to store we took care of our SUR camaradas, paisas, whites and Nortenos.! Them fooz were respectful i was at High Desert from 06-2010
I can’t believe they let dudes free from the shu to the street. I had a hard time adjusting to the freedom of a max after 4 yrs in the shu. I can’t imagine being let out to the street straight from the shu. People don’t understand how hard it is to adjust to freedom, any level of freedom after being isolated for years. Good video, good that you are adjusting well and doing good.
They paroled me from Corcoran SHU in 2017 as well. Happens all the time. No reentry got SHU inmates as far as I know. Where as others tend to go to lower and lower level yards. But if you're in the SHU and your date hits, that's it. You're done with your time. But they won't trust you to send you back to the yards anymore. That's all it is.
@@frankleaney6267 I am still out. It wasn't easy at times and I recall at one point I had not talked to anyone in any 15 days so I was standing in my cell (I was placed single man due to danger level they claimed I was) so I remember standing in the middle of my cell talking to myself saying "testing testing. It's my voice still there? Do I still have a voice" and I literally had a raspy voice from not talking for so long. But after that I just got myself into a different mindset and read more books and just passed the time with workouts and reading.
I paroled from the SHU in 2015, at the time i had been down for 15 years, the last 6 in the SHU. The first few weeks were spent at home just adjusting to being home. Glad to say I've been home for 7 years now, but the echos of that life still linger. Still adjusting, but striving forward.
I paroled in 2015 after doing 24 yrs (14 on level 4, 5 on level 3, 5 on level 2). No lie, I just stopped showering with my shower shoes last year. I still hook up a bomb sopa (my wife eats them with me) now and then. Adjusting to the outside wasn’t easy, but praise God we made it!
Right?! I met some cool people from up North in there but the "other side" was destigmatized to an extent. Don't get me wrong, some were killers and we knew one another were ops but the grown man vibe made the time a little easier
This Vato Peanut sounds like he was always on point. Considering he was a Federal informant. He considered you a threat. That dude had fear running through his bloodstream. Good spill Homie. 🔥🇲🇽

Education really is the answer. The more educated, the less ignorant. The less ignorant, the more open minded and higher likelihood of better long term decision making. From the little i have read about the inner workings of NF, education is a high organizational priority. Additionally, no drugs policy and mandatory fitness minimums create positive discipline. Imagine if the core org objective was something positive rather than sell drugs, get money and kill all enemies wherever and whenever possible. My hat is off to you my friend for applying the education and learning into something positive and useful for others and society. I dont know you but im damn proud of you!
That means more than you know. I’ll say this, as one who left school before 7th grade was up, what reading and writing and critical thinking skills I do have were all courtesy of incarceration. There are definitely easier ways to accomplish that but I am thankful I did my time with who I did and how I did it as there was definitely a level of betterment I attained. Would that have happened if I functioned under a different ideology? Who knows

Sureno or not u can’t take anything from a man who keeps it real and shares his story with staying grounded and honest. Way to get that education brother becuz believe it not that is the difference between those who remain in the game for other “naive” reasons than those who realize there are opportunities that r then realized. I salute u brother keep up the positivity.

That’s right 💯 I would tell people - we’re all grown men, we’re all killers or willing to kill n we all know that. We’re also all in the same situation. That disrespect is childish and has huge consequences for everyone. No matter who wins the battle we all lose. When it’s time to go, we go - but why rush to that point unnecessarily. Ain’t nobody impressed by that YA shit

California politics seem extremely stressful. Thankful I'm able to learn about it through others such as yourself. Glad you're back on the streets, you have a sharp mind that shouldn't be wasted behind the wall. Thanks for your content and honest recollection.
It is and isn't. The politics allow structure and really prevent the free for all prevents bullying, and prevents rape. And getting involved could easily push your release date back or worse completely eliminate your release date

He said it was crazy out there, but more like the wacky type of crazy that you tyoically hear associated with Florida in general, he never really expressed any concerns for his general safety or anything. But then again he is white, and I know that typically us whites typically don't have as much pressure and temptation to join gangs as mexicans or blacks often have, so maybe that explains it.
Peanut snitch too.

Really appreciate how there ain’t no flexing, or glorification of that gangsta life on this channel ! Way too many prison channels are like that! You are very well spoken and informative- I respect that! Salute from Washington D.C.
Nope he flexed but in a very respectful way and just told his story. God bless him and keep him.
The biggest gangsters I know flex with the pen, not the sword.
Realest Gangster I’ve seen on TH-cam. No glorification, articulate and very honest. Shouts outs from down south.
Gracias homie. Appreciate the support. Where down South if you don’t mind me asking?
There's a lot of wisdom in this video. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.
Appreciate that homie 💯
I don't agree with all your videos... But dam some of the messages your putting down hit home. to my younger life . Keep pushing
Hey Josh, thank you for sharing your story with us. I’m learning so much from you but I’m especially grateful to get to know you better!
Hey!! Good to see n hear from you friend. Thank you for the support n encouragement
I am really digging the evolution of your format, Homie! I think you found your footing :)
Gracias homie - it’s been a learning process on a lot of levels but I was certain I wanted to put out content beyond pinta war stories etc. That lane is crowded. I didn’t expect this level of engagement from people tho n that’s been very motivating
I think that you went through your journey just the way you were supposed to. I’m glad you made it 💯

Great story bro. God is always looking out for us. Keep him close and your path will always be straight . God bless you in all things.
i agree with you and have experienced that. I'm going to start doing faith-related videos on Sundays starting this week
Ridiculously late reply but much appreciated comment homie - glad you’re on this side of the wall ✊🏼
Got a PhD now too. Trip huh?

Damn BG13
Steamboat springs, the outlets... and a guy in waders fly fishing as I walked through it all. Colorado is gorgeous. Take care.
Thank you for sharing that - and I can relate. I’m curious your thoughts on the video I did recently “Street Gang and Prison Gang Members”

When we went to store we took care of our SUR camaradas, paisas, whites and Nortenos.! Them fooz were respectful i was at High Desert from 06-2010
There was guerra in those years
I can’t believe they let dudes free from the shu to the street.
@@babayega_ and your still out. That shows your strength in over coming the effects of isolation. I had to go on meds for awhile. Lol

Who knows

I’m a eme associate my door opened up with spanky from Salinas valley who was my friend we were in the bay for over 10 yrs together and when it opened we actually shook hands and went back to our cells
@@HOMIEHangout the diplomacy you describe is awesome! Gives a square a insight
When the doors opened at the same time in the bay was it a malfunction or was it the guards doing it on purpose?
@@joseph395 in my case the northerner was out in the yard and had ask to use the restroom so the cop let him go to his cell then back to yard but didn’t close cell door all the way cause she was running showers at same time.. so a few minutes later I yelled for shower door and she opened it .. I went to check on everyone and then noticed door was open and as is policy had to ask when I saw we were face to face if we were good or going to get busy.. he said the same and both our replies were we were cool so we shook hands and called it a day.. it was a accident we both got extra tray for that accident
@@joseph395 It's never a malfunction. It's human "error" whether on purpose or accidental - and both happen
GRACIAS HOMIE FOR SHARING YOU'RE EXPERIENCE AT THE BAY KEEP YOUR HEAD UP RASCAL. SALUDOS OUT OF SANTA ANA ORANGE ⭐ COUNTY!!!!
Saludos homie, thanks for the encouragement n support
Qvo.just checking in to say keep the peace. Happy 4th!😜. Califas
California politics seem extremely stressful. Thankful I'm able to learn about it through others such as yourself. Glad you're back on the streets, you have a sharp mind that shouldn't be wasted behind the wall. Thanks for your content and honest recollection.
I hear Florida is Damn free for all.
It is and isn't. The politics allow structure and really prevent the free for all prevents bullying, and prevents rape. But it comes at a price it's almost impossible to comfortably do your time without getting involved one way or another. And getting involved could easily push your release date back or worse completely eliminate your release date
@@thechosenwon4089 one of my best childhood friends went into FL DOC at 17 yrs old unaffiliated on a armed robbery gone bad where someone ended up getting killed. He came home 35 yrs old banging LK tough... From what I remember talking to him on the phone and thru letters over the years he had to get down with a gang its just too much pressure as a neutron, that lone wolf shit don't fly year after year I can imagine getting tired after so long
@@JGDirtySouth8i had a cellie in Nevada who was a lifer from Florida on a interstate compact family hardship transfer. He fell when he was 18 and did over 10 years in Florida before nearly 20 now in NV, and he wasnt put on out there, and tbh I never really even heard him mentioning anything regarding the gangs out there. I guess it's always possible that it was SO bad that he's repressing it lol, but I think that's probably not the case 😆
@@shanekingsley251 that was my personal opinion on the situation, I was close with his family and towards the later years of his bid id see his father stressing ( he was my boss) and id ask how his son was doing and he constantly replied "he's in the hole, again" my boy was super active he don't even like taking about his bid but everyone's experience is different with levels of course
Thanks for sharing . Saludos Mr Josh
Gracias for tapping in homie
Good stuff homie much respect.
I appreciate that
Whats up Gee. I ran into your channel and watched the whole video. Very entertaining. Keep up the awesome content. SUBSCRIBED. I'm glad you had a respectful experience with the Homies.
SERIO, I HIT THE BAY BACK IN 1993 (shu) STRAIGHT TO D-4,
c pod. THOUGHT THE TIER TENDER WAS A HOMIE (southern). DUDE LOOKED OUT BEING I WAS THE ONLY SOUTHERN IN THAT POD. GOT AT ME WITH A FAT CARE PACKAGE 😲. THEN HE CAME TO MY DOOR ONE DAY, WE STARTED CUTTING IT UP AND THAT'S WHEN HE FULLY INTRODUCED HIMSELF. 😎RALE, PANCHO DE SALINAS 😳. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CONVERSATION I JUST WENT TO QUITE MODE. THEN HE KINDLY SAID, IT AIN'T LIKE THAT BACK HERE 😮. GOT ALONG REAL FIRME AND MET HIS HOMIES THAT WERE ALSO THERE. EVEN BUSTED DOWN WITH THEM. SAT THERE 16 MONTHS. SO WHAT I'M GETTING AT IS THAT IS ONCE YOU GET TO KNOW THEM , YOU'LL RESPECT THEM . NOT TOO MUCH A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE GUYS AND THE HOMIES. THIS IS A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, YET THOUGHT LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DID🤔. CHALE, JUST FOLKS FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE 😎. MY UTMOST RESPECTS HEADING UP NORTH 👍 😉. ✌️-OUT
I recently started following your channel. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for all your videos and lessons for life ✊
Man that shit you said about everyone you know thats dead. The ones thats had a better future than us. The people that had genuine good souls that overdosed or are doing life. I've been trying to figure out why I'm the one thats still here. I'm 23 man been a heroin addict for over 7 years. I've lost so many friends to the system and drug its crazy. I think gods the reason were still here man. We've got a purpose. You've found yours and I'm still looking for me. I needed to hear what you said. Thanks homie one love ✊
It means a lot that you took the time to share that. When the pain outweighs the pleasure is when we are ripe to focus on just the next right thing. You have a long and difficult road ahead of you homie, I'm not going to sugar coat it, but there is a road for you. There is a future for you and yes, you are valuable and I can say those things confidently without knowing you in person because thats true for everyone.I'm going to start doing faith-related content on Sunday's, maybe some of it will apply to you. I'm not looking to convert anyone to my faith - I learn from multiple traditions - my goal in it is to inspire or nurture a spark of hope. When we have that we are literally unstoppable in what we can achieve. God got you bro and I'll be praying for you. Feel free to DM me on IG The HOMIE Hangout or email me Joshua@TheHomieHangout.com
@@HOMIEHangout Thank you man. I'd love to be part of the Sundays. I'm agnostic but believe every religion has valuable information and good message. It is a long difficult road but I'm going in the right direction. God definitely has me ☝💯 I've wrecked multiple cars. Totaled without a scratch on me. Everytime I use he sends me a sign that I shouldn't. I was clean 2 months relapsed 1 time at the beginning of the month and got a blood infection that was only found early because i was in the hospital for a different reason. If I didn't find it early I could have got endocarditis. But I only had to get 3 weeks iv antibiotics that I'm almost done with. I truly believe it was a sign. I appreciate the support homie. I'll be in touch over email or dms soon. Thanks big bro. I needed this talk.
Good stuff homie Joshua. Keep em coming dude.

Wow! Congrats on being home. Would like to hear more. Joshua@TheHomieHangout.com is my email. I also have Instagram and a Facebook Page w/ the same name as the channel where I can receive messages
It's amazing man, I know Australia is different, but the system is so different here it's crazy. Your an intelligent bloke, I hope your doing well hey.
I like the way you speak, educated and no bullshit no high siding just telling the truth. Stay up
Thank you for the compliment homie 💯
it was interesting me as a yogi that you mentioned yoga in prison, like the channel ,stay up
Yo Brother great story. A lot of positives with with big homies from the Sur.
Your honesty is inspiring and you are doing good now and keep in mind God is in control and somewhere in all this crazy life God is steering you good. The grain of salt is essential!
I did 16 years in Melbourne Australia.. found yoga persued it and ended up teaching it to others in the prison in our own yoga class ,
All of us were and became fitness machines... Much love bro🇳🇿💯👍
It was a much better work out than I expected. Glad you’re home. How are Australian prisons compared to here?
@@HOMIEHangout from what I've seen Australia is a lot more mellow.. Still VERY dangerous.. I did all mine main stream, good standing and I can say that we hold our own but our criminal organizations are no where near as strong as your big 4.. We have our different ethnic groups who stick together and make money with each other but our killing rate and violence rate is much lower than yours..Then again our population is much smaller..... As for me.. Well I've been out 12 months working doing furniture removals, keeping fit,, clean and making that legal money🇦🇺💯👍
@@HOMIEHangout I was into the usual gym training.. One body part a day sculpturing then I starting yoga... My mind state became soooo much stronger cleaner and clearer,, and my physique became much leaner and my core strength increased ten fold🇦🇺💯🤔
@@Andy-go1ye Interesting. I hear something similar from people who did time in other states here as well. Continued blessings on your journey of freedom
@@Andy-go1ye That core work was intense!
I really enjoyed this video I'm from Oxnard California but the way you explained everything and still kept it discreet is cool you had my ear and kept it I watch boxer rojo flaco and gunner to your content was on a serious note and not so many jokes but still equally as good. I've seen some crazy things in prison
I appreciate that homie n that you stuck it thru to the end. How long have you been home if you don’t mind me asking?
@@HOMIEHangout about 8 years now ...about 5 year's ago I picked up a case and I ended up bailing out on it twice and both time's I ran I was looking at 16,2,and,3 doubled up with a prior making it 7 years with 85% but I got a lawyer and he got me time served with probation they didn't want to come down they even wanted me to go in to custody but he fought that to all well I was on the run . The term before my last I lost my jefita well I was in there and my baby brother died this last December before Christmas at the age of 35 my first term was federal and I went two more times to the fed's ended up in state on two terms with some violations. The federal system was off the hook we had everything except phone's
@@805remedy5 Damn, sorry about your losses homie. Glad you were able to get out from under that number and be in the community for your family. Wish you continued success
