Pelican Bay SHU - Not What I Expected

  • My interactions w/ Charles Oak aka Peanut from Stockton. Abusive NF member turned major informant turned dead. What it was like living around well known EME members such as Danny Boy de Hazard, Tortuga de Colton, Jacko Padilla de Artesia, Cycs de Santa Monica and Caja de Avenues. How and why I decided not to function w/ a street regiment upon paroling from the Pelican Bay SHU

Salutes brotha. Peanut was most certainly a jerk. He had balls...but didnt care about nothing other than himself. Another great story here. Consider how things turned out....now imagine had you been around different people at a different time. Might not have ended up in the situation you are now. All respects

When you talk about the Word, this is probably the most legit thing I've heard in the longest time! I'm thinking about my Brother who overdosed, my friends murdered when I was younger..its deep brother! Well done.

I stumbled on your channel accidentally. A few minutes in, I subscribed. I was affiliated with a legal organization that worked on Asker. A friend of mine was going up there a lot and I had an opportunity to read some of the testimony. I know a few guys who went to the Bay, because my ex husband did 46 years before he was exonerated. I knew them, and their families. Prison wives back then were a sisterhood that was bound by a common agony. When their husbands would get on the gray goose, we'd all hug and cry because we knew that they would have long trips, and extreme financial hardship which comes with an added expense. You took me back to another life.

Rascal, Buenos dias & a crisp salute. Looking into my childrens faces I'm reminded daily of the many blessings that have come to fruition. I remember thinking in my days of being a soldiers soldier, "can't stop raising my hand, got to be on the next mission", that was my strive. Ultimately my knowledge & comprehension of what was needed in our strongholds was too vast and the people would no longer allow me carry out simple pegadas etc. I was literally told to stand down unless it was all out war. Thank you once again for sharing from the heart. You articulate extremely well. For one such as myself who has walked in those same state chanklas and boots and good ol' PIA shoes, it is good to reminisce the times down memory lane. Today I enjoy working with many of our likeminded gente who are striving for other things in life. Whether that's buying a house, seeking better employment or stopping a substance dependency. All these things still align with my core values of seeking a better education and demanding we have equal opportunities afforded to all others. This is now for me at least, carried on outside the walls. I still reach back inside to bless when I can. Doesn't take much to fly out a couple books of stamps or amazon somebody a book that will allow for that mental escape from the never ending gloomy realty of where our folks inside are. Nothing but the utmost Tu sabes

From my experience, that's how most all of Mexican gang members(both north and south)carry themselves. Very structured and respectful, rarely getting loud, but always ready to handle business. As a wood from both the California and Nevada systems, a lot of these dudes were the among the best ive ever met in my nearly 40 years on this planet, both inside and out of prison. A few are even good friends I still keep up with years later, not due to any politic things, just as good people period.

    • @trigfizzle6876

Most prison TH-camrs don't flex it and tell people not to go.. you gotta start using your own mind instead of just thinking what other people tell you. But then again that stuff happens when all you corny people who are really terrified of bad situations and prison and the hood or not even prison even something as simple as black culture come on the internet watching videos about those things and voicing your uneducated feelings that don't matter because you're just another soft spectator trying to be cool.

I knew once that year mark hit I was gonna be due for a mission, that's just how it is in level 4s, but lucky me in 05 I left Corcoran for Centinela😎 A totally drama house, way to many youngsters 🤦‍♂️. Finally my last 5 1/2 years was at Norco(Disneyland) this is where I took advantage Auto Technician, and 1 year of college. Got out in 2012, paroled to Bell Gardens on Jaboneria & Loveland, everyone there new were I was from but no one bothered me so that was cool. Once I was off parole I moved to Colorado. Best decision ever and ver happy of it.

He caught 15 in the feds in 08 I moved everywhere he did to be close to him. He relapsed in 14, still with Leukemia then he developed a 2nd form that was terminal in 17. They gave him 4 months to live I got him out on compassionate release in 2019 he died exactly a year later. He was the longest living person with that type of cancer ever, he went through hellish treatments to help them learn more about it to help other ppl who get it. Hes my hero. Just stumbled on your channel bro and subscribed. I paroled from the bay D5 under Chamarko in 03 and have never gone back. I was in Quentin for 6 years and got validated after going back and forth to the Oyo over the years. I to was and still am an n soldado in good standing but never looked back. The bay changed my mindset. To me that is where the term “lock em away and throw away the key” came from. I was in a pod with whites and eme. Only N there and by the second day I had a care package and a t.v in front of my cell and I didn’t know what to do. Whether to accept it or leave it but the eme dudes said in the end we are all Raza behind the doors. My cell doors popped open numerous times while there and no one ever came out. Crazy times. Your stories bring back memories. Glad your doing good Hermano.

@@HOMIEHangout i thought it was a great topic bro. You have a lot of good insight because you’ve been part of both. I had the keys to Quentin mainline 3 times and was backbar ra in the hole so I always got to see the communication back and forth and its crazy to me how many come in bangin in the streets but all of a sudden “they just want to do their time or Im not into the politics” but when they find their self in trouble with another group segment they want help from the house or now they are part of the cause but dont want to do their part and thats b.s. when we are just trying to make the line safe for all of us. Those vatos are the same in their streetgang. Reppin the name but look out only for themselves. For us if your “northern on the street and in the county your northern in the pinta and you gotta program. I saw this personally because I turned Quentin back into a 4 yard program and boy did I get some bite back from the homies who werent with it but eventually the got inline because they saw the benefits and safety of “the program”. The streets is cutthroat and wild. Glad I just do the family thing now. Keep up the videos homie and happy bday. Were around the same age. Im 46 in may. Saludos Nano de San Leandro👊🏽

I can’t believe they let dudes free from the shu to the street. I had a hard time adjusting to the freedom of a max after 4 yrs in the shu. I can’t imagine being let out to the street straight from the shu. People don’t understand how hard it is to adjust to freedom, any level of freedom after being isolated for years. Good video, good that you are adjusting well and doing good.

They paroled me from Corcoran SHU in 2017 as well. Happens all the time. No reentry got SHU inmates as far as I know. Where as others tend to go to lower and lower level yards. But if you're in the SHU and your date hits, that's it. You're done with your time. But they won't trust you to send you back to the yards anymore. That's all it is.

It wasn't easy at times and I recall at one point I had not talked to anyone in any 15 days so I was standing in my cell (I was placed single man due to danger level they claimed I was) so I remember standing in the middle of my cell talking to myself saying "testing testing. It's my voice still there? Do I still have a voice" and I literally had a raspy voice from not talking for so long. But after that I just got myself into a different mindset and read more books and just passed the time with workouts and reading.
