I love how Raiden had the same voice actor for so many years
Really wish they did the same for the others. Sonya's voice got worse and Scorpion's MK11 voice is nowhere near as good as MK9 or MKX
Christian Manuel imo Sonyas voice was only good in Mkx and I like how Hanzo actually sounds like an Asian man in Mk11 .

@@SonGokuuuuuuu Yeah, but Patrick Seitz is better as Scorpion because he just clicks with the character. Does Sub-Zero sound Chinese? Does Shang Tsung? Does Raiden sound Japanese, or even look it? Being as he is the Japanese god of thunder and lightning? That argument doesn't hold water. The characters that were switched were better voice acted in the two previous installments. Except for Shang Tsung and Fujin. They're the shining beacons of MK11.

This line is a vital point for Raiden, we see both his attitude towards Liu Kang:
1.The inability to make a fair judgement towards him due to his Anger fueled by Shinnok's Amulet.
2. His desire to defend earthrealm and humanity.
Some MK fans thought Raiden is a villain in this game, but for me, though he's angry because of the circumstances, he's still the Raiden we know. The only negative thing about him is the lack of right judgement. But thanks to his memories, it really saved him from becoming much more insane.
Yeah he was so much more psychotic in Deception and Armageddon, Dark Raiden in MKX and 11 was more so not taking anyone’s shit.
MK 11 still confuses me, the Raiden we see is the one that came through the portal which would indicate that he is the same Raiden from MK 9 however he has Shinnok's amulet and his dark side is very prominent, before this Raiden showed up MK 11 only had Dark Raiden who disappeared inexplicably fairly early on in the story and is never seen again.
It's not necessarily a plot hole but it's just very odd to me that Dark Raiden just vanished like that.

Its really not. Most of what made mk9-mkx writing good, got dumped and retconned, plotholed and loopholed in a matter of 5 scenes just so they could end the timeline and be able to rewrite it again for the next game in such a disrespectful push against the diehard fans. On the surface its a continuity but in reality its quite depressing and disappointing

One detail that I love is that in MK9, Liu Kang died from Raiden’s lightning and his own fire. In MK11, he now COMMANDS lightning and fire.

The way Liu kang says it in MK9 sounds better than in MK11 imo. Probably cos he sounds more serious
I think it had more to do with the situation. In 9, Liu is pretty much at his breaking point, whereas 11 sounds more melancholy since he only now realized that Raiden's lost it.
@@jarekgunther Either that or he meant the MK11 rendition of the MK9 cutscene. Liu Kang in MK9 sounded a lot more angrier and cynical, while Liu Kang in the MK11 remade version sounded mildly angered.

As others said. In 9 he was fed up with Raiden and lost all faith in him. In 11 it’s honestly more sorrowed if anything because in this one he really did want to put his trust into Raiden.
I felt so bad for Raiden during all of this. He did his best 90% of the times and it still wasn't enough.

Yeah, that scene made me question Kronika's involvement in the DC Universe. All I wanted to know is if Kronika created the Injustice universe.
I honestly wish I can agree, but for me it just raises more questions than answers. Supposedly Kronika was upset at what the present dark Raiden has done to the timeline, but…the whole multi timeline plot suggests that this is not the first timeline. Why would Kronika change the timeline multiple times only for the current most one she created be the one in which Raiden resets everything and causes Shinnok’s downfall? Plus if Kronika has the power already to change the timeline into different varieties, wbu does it take more power to make the new era? Loved execution of the reveal, but honestly I wish they left it at the two timelines and Raiden realizing he messed up with his dark future version alone.
Honestly, the story was all over the damn place. On one hand there’s amazing moments like this and Sub Zero’s chapter, but on the other hand they completely bungled Sindel

Didn't like how MK11 retconned most of the lore to basically say duh duh duuuuuuhhh....kronika is the reason all of this happened..but I do appreciate how well written Liu kang and raiden's storyline is..,and it's refreshing to see liu kang finally get back in the spotlight after so many years.

Liu Kang always told Raiden that if he must die so be it in every timeline before the two of them fought to the death, the fight ending in Liu Kang's death then him returning as a revenant and hating Raiden before Kronika resetted the timeline but this time Raiden realized what he was doing and fought Liu Kang to a stand still without killing him.
The mk11 scene was my favorite in the whole story. It was so intense and even the background music was increasing the action.
And those mk9 and Armageddon references, PURE GOLD

With all due respect but Raiden saved Liu kang if you payed attention to the cutscenes. Kitana helped future Liu kang get his past so she could steal his own soul to make his future dead self stronger and later on, Raiden helped him by merging with him and past Liu Kang to become Fire God Liu Kang

In MK9, Raiden wants Liu Kang to stop his anger. However the roles are kinda reversed in MK11 when Liu Kang wants Raiden to stop his anger.

i agree with the zoning out and shinnok’s amulet but in mk9, raiden only said “he must win” which was super vague which essentially made the question of who must win? shao kahn, lui kang or somebody else? without a clear answer they were basically in the dark. as for mk11, fujin basically was manipulating everyone so it goes according to lui kang’s plan to get the crown and reset the timeline. fujin knowing gave the crown to shang tsung and told raiden they needed him to

I never noticed it until now but in the scene showing all of the different Raiden vs Liu Kang fights, the animation of their fight actually loops

Then there’s MKX, where Liu Kang is revived by Quan Chi and Shinnok as a revenant. I hated that Liu Kang is always blaming Raiden for his death in 9, but it should be noted that it was really Liu Kang’s own fault that he died, as he attacked Raiden near the end of Shao Kahn’s invasion, and Raiden had only killed him accidentally. Something that he truly regrets. If he had just listened to Raiden’s warning and/or processed everything the Elder Gods said about the merger of the realms without winning the MK tournaments being illegal, Liu Kang wouldn’t have attacked Raiden, he could’ve avoided his fate as a revenant. As Bo Rai Cho said during pre-fight interactions with Revenant Liu Kang, it was his own distrust towards Raiden that led to his demise, something he could’ve easily avoided.
don’t forget that raiden says the same line at the end with the big battle in the DC vs MK game
I remeber playing mk9 story mode when I was 10 I was mad when raiden killed lui kang but now I see that it was in self-defence. I can't be the only one who notice's that Raiden kinda treated lui kang like a son.
I notice that later on in each timeline raiden is the one doing wrong up until aftermath then he is doing right

As far as I understand it, MK9 was Raiden realizing that everything attempted from MK 1 to Armageddon was a severe worst case scenario. He sent a message to his past self before Shao Kahn killed him. Could he have been a bit more descriptive or sent the message a little earlier? Perhaps. And he could've prevented everything that occurred from MK9 to MK11.
Downside, that scenario could have possibly been played out from all of Kronika's different outcomes, with Kronika still winning.
Pretty much. Liu beat Shao Khan, he returned. Shinnok got beat, returned anyway in Armageddon. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi created the Deadly Alliance and merked the heroes, paving the way for the rise of Onaga. Which set the stage for Armageddon where literally all the bad guys teamed up against all the good guys, Legion of Doom-style and in the end, Shao fucking Khan won. I mean, Liu Kang was a friggin' zombie in Armageddon.
Even before this, things were already going out of control in 9 - like Scorpion NOT sparing Bi-Han and handling Quan Chi a free minion, Kung Lao getting killed in the second tournament (his own fault but DAMN, massive L) or their treatment of poor Mileena who didn't deserve to be shunned like a freak for existing, creating yet another enemy. Also anything Sindel.
But yah, the Game Was Rigged From the Start because Kronika.
