I subscribed to FSD after the free trial ended. I used it almost exclusively when I 'drive'. I used to never drive on highways without AP. Now I don't actively drive anymore.
I am impatient and do lots of accelerator presses. And I find FSD to accelerate and brake too aggressively and to be too slow on left turns from a stop. BUT. I find it extremely relaxing and useful already. Even with the current issues I have w it (a lot is just preference) I would not want to be without it ESPECIALLY on long drives.
I am not hopeful or optimistic about v12.4 or v12.5 because Elon is always over-optimistic and over hypes things, but I do look forward to seeing how it might improve.
My friend who has a new Tesla said she is not interested in FSD because it irritates her that she has to keep touching the wheel. That's her point of view, I can't relate because I don't have one. Another acquaintance, both husband and wife have had their Teslas for a long time, he was not interested in even trying the free trial because he said he doesn't like it based on prior experience. He was not aware at all of all of these improvements.
I think the main purpose of touching the wheel is that it forces the driver to keep their hand inches from the wheel at all times. Otherwise the user would get complacent and start doing things with their hands that they shouldn't be doing, like eating or playing with their phone.

I am not getting the fsd right now, but I am definitively getting it, for my next trip. It makes my 34 hour trip feel like a 1.5 hr trip. Worth it

We are a doctor family and we have taken all of our kids to medical conferences. Because we love them and we've taught them to be well behaved!! Like little X!
Also, I think it would be kind of cool to have a trusted tester program for FSD. These would be vetted five star drivers that could sign up for extra training by watching videos with priority uploads for your logs. You could be paid in referral points or swag. I’ve seen the way people volunteered to come in and help with deliveries during production hell at end of quarters in the past. there is so much love in the Tesla community. I bet there would be a long line of people eagerly willing to contribute their time to join the mission. Let’s accelerate the transition to sustainable energy and transport together.❤💯🚀

Except mobile Alabama! That has to be one of the worst locations imaginable. A mall that is dying and actually has a number of you’d like security to escort you across the malls lot to target. At night it’s barren and nothing of use anywhere near.
X is 4, he turned 4 on May 4th so he's not dragging his 3 year old around he's parenting his 4 year old.
On my route to work all is fine. Driving home, however, there are a couple of spots where the car interprets “Illinois State Route 25” as “Speed Limit 25” and slows down to 25 mph only to speed right back up as there is a speed limit sign some car lengths past the state route sign.
And I have not driven myself in about a month, about 259 miles a week, no “safety” intervention, just some gas pedal taps when I got impatient. Truthfully the car drives better than I do…

When i was growing up protest movements were something i could support, and sometimes root for. They seemed to be protesting actual issues. Now every protest i see appears to just be a collection of extremely stupid people doing extremely stupid things.

I had to use FSD continuously for more than a month to become really comfortable with it. It sounds like you haven't yet become comfortable with it judging by your apparent lack of enthusiasm (??). The same way a dog gradually trains the (smart) pet owner, FSD gradually trained me (thought I was an expert, have had performance driving training, etc.). Tesla needs zero interventions in order to sell robotaxis. I couldn't care less about zero interventions, nor should you or the typical driver, IMO. I often disengage for minor reasons, anytime it suits my purpose, often when I just don't want to change lanes, or follow a particular route, or when I misunderstand what FSD is doing, etc. I've had only 2-3 serious interventions in total. The fact that it will handle any situation and go from point A to point B is already amazing and extremely useful. IMO non-users need to hear the truth that FSD is already amazing and is a huge selling point as valuable as the rest of the amazing (safety, convenience, etc.) software.
As a 24 year old I only wish I had more money on my side so I could invest more. I've got 200 shares in which weighs heavily in my small portfolio only 110k. I can't get any more and I'm banging the table about the company
Easy for the lucky ones who got in~100.00/share but ALOT of us have been DCA for a couple years now and still can't keep up with the continuous drop! It's always going to be in the long term so get ready for the next mishap.

The drop has been one step forward, 2 steps back for 3 years now and I see nothing to change that pattern. $100 is vastly more likely than $200 in the next 5 years and probably 10 years.

I subscribe to FSD, my fSD is V11.4.6 I think, I travel for work and it definitely helps with fatigue!

With greater improvements, it will be harder to detect improvements. As most of the improvements will be solving edge cases, by it’s very nature it will be the unusual situations that are being solved and rarely encountered by the average driver.
i dont have FSD i have only autopilot and i am pretty sure it slows down for people on road and bikes

If the roboitaxi future does emerge, where large protions of the fleet are driverless and without steering wheels, we are right up excrement creek if anything (like solar flares) disrupts GPS! Large parts of the transportation network disabled, just when we might need it! Sometimes, ugly bags of mostly water have a use!

True. I have had FSD reduce speed to 40kmph for a sign that was posting the towns speed limits while the road speed limit was 60.

How? That would mean a P/E of over 100. That’s not realistic!
The hype during Covid was the perfect storm for the stock market. Tesla hade a P/E of over 900 when it was at its highest. Right now teslas is at P/E 40 and that’s very high for a company that’s showing decline in earnings and sales.
For a company to reach over 100 you either need to have very low earnings with a really good prospect of increasing earnings or you need to have incredible good sales and demand with high margins.
Tesla right now have non of that.
So why would it go to $500?

That’s great advice to disengage and leave a voice comment on the speed limit sign issue. After working for several self driving companies, I can tell you they pay vehicle operators and specialist lots of money to leave notes following disengagements and/or awkward behaviors. This is free data for Tesla the largest fleet in the world. Let’s scale this type of disengagement reporting that include keywords that are indexable. Just like your example of the false positive stop sign with do not enter sign then driving the wrong way into one-way example. Disengagement aren’t bad they are used for training the data set with E2E neural nets. FSD FTW at every other self driving company I worked at I was buying $TSLA the whole time 😂

Tesla just informed me to update software, so I may able to try FSD from yesterday. It is very impressive. It still has problems dealing with flash yellow lights. Since I had ridden on Waymo one Autnomous car in SF in2022. According to my experience, it is still not catching up with Waymo true Autonomous drive in2022 in SF area. Of course I understand that Tesla does not have geo constraints. I hope Tesla can catching up quickly.
It's kinda funny that Dan is saying this massive shift and disruption on the horizon won't even return the stock to where it was in summer 2023.

Dan Ives is right! Tesla is a very long term story, say 2 to 5 more years -- if you're lucky. And the challenges just keep on coming, one after the other. That said, I may not BET against Elon, but any investment in Tesla is GAMBLING on Elon. The fact is, that at some point, Elon is going to have to impress Wall Street, and in two and a half years, he has failed to do so. Keep in mind also, there are those investors that are looking to take profits on their investment as soon as they see the opportunity -- Cathie Woods being one of them. I know I will. So ya, I either recover my investment, or make money if somehow Elon will ever go so far as impress Wall Street. That said, I'm very disappointed at how Wall Street has driven down Tesla's valuation considering what they have accomplished.

If not for exports from GF Shanghai, Tesla would already be in deep trouble in China. Domestic demand is shaky across the industry - and worse is inbound.
China is entering a period of slow-motion collapse. The CCP blames the US and is edging towards war. Today China is difficult for Tesla to navigate; in the not far future, it will be impossible.
The stock will be hurt.
Still, I am bullish about the long term. Tesla has the tech everyone else lacks, and they adapt well to adversity. They will recover better than their competitors.
